Thinking About Our Roof

I’ve been thinking…uh oh, sometimes I stir up some trouble when I start thinking too much. But not this time, really. I’ve been thinking about our roof.

Dad told me that we will be getting a new roof on our house and that sometime really soon there will be lots of banging going on. I guess he told me that so I wouldn’t be afraid and then I could tell my sisters not to be afraid either. But I wonder what happened to our old roof??? Surely it’s still there or there would be all kinds of outside stuff coming in. I tried looking up out of the windows but I can get my neck around to a position where I can see up there. Wait a minute, maybe it was hurt when that big fat human with the bag of toys, the big sled and the funny looking critters was up there walking around several months ago. Nah, probably not, but they sure did make a lot of noise up there. Hey, wait a minute, I’ll bet something happened when we had that big thunderboomer storm not too long ago. It was loud boomers too and the wind was sure blowing stuff everwhere. That’s got to be it. Well, I’m glad were getting a new roof but I’m not looking forward to bunches of noisy days. We are spoiled and love having a roof over our heads so we’ll just have to deal with it and hide under the bed. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it! Purrrr! Zip! Later!

We hope it's not too loud for you, Brian…we hate when strangers come to our house and make lots of noise….

It's not so bad, we had to have a new roof after Katrina. Because the wood was rotted we had to have new decking too which is a little more involved. Most of the time they just lay the new roof on top of the old. It didn't take them long. Don't worry about it, just find a nice spot to hideout with your sisters. ~Scylla, Socks, Charybdis & Fenris

Doing the hidey is a furry good idea when construction is going on! Although, snoopervising the work is fun too. Hopefully the noise won't disrupt your napping too much!

Hopefully, your purrsons will be around when the banging begins. I have found that things aren't nearly as scary when they ar there.

Hi Brian, nice to meet you!
Wow, a new roof? My home has never ever got a new roof, and it's very ugly, gray and has many leaves on it. If you show us the new roof I'll try to convince the human to change the roof 😉

You should go and check out the roof by climbing on top. Great views up there! Banging is definitely not good for us kitties.

I hope that the banging doesn't get too loud or last too long, Brian. I bet it was the storm with the thunderboomies that messed up the old roof, too.
