There is always something to do in our downtown. Being a feline, I was automatically attracted to Mice on Main, hey, what kitty wouldn’t be, right?
Mice on Main is a very special scavenger hunt of sorts. Mice on Main was local high school student Jimmy Ryan’s 2000 school project. Jimmy wanted to do something special for the community to highlight its character and individuality. As a part of his class project, he raised funds and created downtown Greenville’s famous scavenger hunt for children (and cats) of all ages. The charming bronze mouse statues were then created by well known South Carolina native Zan Wells.
Based on the popular children’s good Goodnight Moon, a bronzed sculpture of the book and one little mouse can be seen on the fountain in front of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The other eight adorable mice are tucked, perched and hidden along a nine block stretch of Main Street. The hint for the first mouse is: Where the water springs above the ground, Marvin on his book can be found.
I just had to stop by and spent some time with the Marvin on the Mice on Main tour.
The other eight adorable mice are tucked, perched and hidden along a nine block stretch of Main Street. Did I find the others, oh yea, of course, I’m a very good mouser.
Whew, it is pretty hot for mousing around today. I thought I had best take a break before I headed to one of the favorite hang outs for my doggie friends. Humans have their hang outs, and so do us cats. So where would be the best spot in downtown Greenville if you were a woofie? Well the Barkery Bistro of course, nothing better than home made treats that are hand baked special for the doggies!
If you look real close you can see me sitting in the window with my friend Bentley. Bentley and his pal Duncan kind of run the Barkery Bistro no matter what the humans in there tell you, it was really his idea. Bentley and his co-star Duncan spent lots of time walking their owner up and down Main Street but there was really never anything special for them. Problem solved! It really is just like a bakery for humans except it is all special made stuff for doggies. How cool is that? Pretty darn cool.
I hope you enjoyed the tour this week and remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Mega-cool!! We love those pictures of you EVERYWHERE and of the mice….mmmm, mice!! I bet you at least wanted to lick them didn't you? Thanks for sharing..that is a really neat town. Purrs, Lautrec and Tiny

That was a great tour of Greenville. Our Mom is finally learning all about Greenville. This is terrific. Brian, you sure are good tour guide.
Have a great day and stay cool.
We enjoyed going round your town and being shown all the mousie stuff. Is there going to be a kitty shop opening up – they may need someone with your knowledge to advise the owner and we think you would be purrfect for the job.
That's really neat…I grew up not too far from here, in Shelby, NC, and never visited. I may have to pop down there next time I'm home 🙂

That cool food place would be even cooler if the special food they made were for us kittehs. But still, I guess it is a step in the right direction. But kittehs next!
