You really just never know when you are going to get the chance change a life. Sometimes the opportunity just happens by. What would you do?
Do you remember my little woofie friend Bailey? Many of you were so kind as to go vote for him in the Easter Photo Contest, and he won.
Bailey
I got a wonderful email from Bailey’s Mom the other day, and that’s what started me thinking. Seriously, you just never know when the chance to make a change will hop your way.
Here is what Bailey’s Mom Gin had to say…
“My husband, Richard noticed a small white bunny loose and began to ask who it might belong to in the neighborhood. Turns out an elderly man bought it for his young wife and apparently it kept getting out and he gave up looking for it.
Richard would take cabbage, apples carrots and water everyday to the location where he saw the bunny and the next day it would always be gone. She was definitely scared of people. And who could blame her? This all happened in the past six months, so she must’ve been loose anywhere from 6 to 8 months on her own and she would run the minute she saw anyone.
A few weeks ago, Richard was walking Bailey and she came up to him as if to say,”please help me.” He reached down and picked her up and brought her home. She had a small cut behind her ear and needed medicine and since we use to have bunnies, he doctored her right up. She was skin and bones, famished and thirsty. She hasn’t stopped eating since and has a new forever home.
We named her Angel, since the angels did a great job protecting her. She’s as happy as can be and gets a bath and brushing every Saturday.
Brian, she sat in the back yard and I put the little hat on for protection against the sun. She’s gained 4 or 5 lbs. in just two weeks! She’s so docile for having been in the wild for so long.”
A truly wonderful outcome because Bailey, Gin and Richard were ready to be the change for Angel. Angel met three angels that were there when she needed them!
Remember, adopt rabbits, they deserve it!!! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Thanks to Blogger all the beautiful comments on this post were lost.
Ugh! Blogger….OY!
Angel is adorable! I love rabbits and this story brough tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. Gin & Richard are obviously kindred spirits and between Bailey and Angel have the cutest and sweetes fur family.
Thank you for sharing this story!
I am sorry the beautiful comments were lost, maybe it was God's way of letting you read the first beautiful comments and then clearing the way for others to leave even more!!
There are no coincidences in life…everything happens for a reason…Angels are sent in all different shapes, sizes and forms…it is up to us to recognize them
xoxoxo
Great rescue story. She was obviously ready to pick a rescuer.
What a great story!
Happy ending to what could have been a very sad tail. We're purrrrring that Angel has a lot of years of food and loving ahead of her.
Ohhh. Mr Brown was rescued from the streets too!
And what a happy ending for little Tess. 🙂
We are so happy Angel found a pawsome forever home. It makes us all smile. Mommy used to have a bunny and she says they are very sweet.
Brought tears to my eyes, too. I'm so happy that Angel found a home. Reminded me of when my husband found our Riley, (dog, not bunny), in the woods. She weighs 106 lbs. now and is a very happy girl. She's brought so much joy into our lives.
