Hey, were did the weekend go? Did yours go by as quickly as ours did? I had better hurry and catch a good easy before the day comes and goes!
Before I go, here is an update I received from Selina’s MomCat Laura on the first “intro” free-wheeling weekend over the Easter holiday…
A rather anti-climactic Easter weekend for Miz Selina being introduced to the whole family & entire house, and who still – despite having an open door ALL WEEKEND – does not want to come out of her guest room (i.e. my office). And, really, why SHOULD she? After all, that is HER room now, after being there two weeks and two days, and anyone that comes in gets ROUNDLY hissed at for his/her pains. Feisal is acting like a total moron, coming in like he owns the place and hissing, to which Selina hisses right back, as if to say, "You don’t impress me much, ya sawed off ruddy Aby! Shut up!"
Peppers just lopes in, and moves His Bigness around the room, sniffing and really ignoring Selina, who is hissing at him from under the purple chair. Livia comes in, scarfs up any leftover gooshy food and gets hissed at. Morticia, who is more Zen-like and respective of others’ space, sits, very ladylike, inside the doorway (but still gets hissed at, though not as vociferously as Feisal gets hissed at). But the good news is, no fur is literally flying, no one’s jumping anyone … so I feel good about the long-term prospects … just impatient to get her downstairs!
We attempted to take her downstairs in the carrier, then sat the carrier on the floor in the living room … alas, no go. She came out, sniffed wildly around the room for about .465 seconds then ZIPPED up the stairs, taking them about 3 at a time, and ran straight back into my office, leaping into my chair like, "What the HELL?!" LOL I looked at Gary & said, "Well, that blows the ‘she’s spooked about the stairs’ theory!"
After that, we got her into the upstairs landing & shut the office door and she sniffed around the entire landing, and kept looking into the BIG bathroom off the hallway like it was the size of Westminster Cathedral, twisting her head to cock that one eye upward as if to say, "It’s so BIIIIIIGGG!" She eventually went in, creeping up to the bathtub/shower like it was going to leap out at her at any second, then ZOOMED out again. I had to go into my office but she was too quick for me, as she zipped past me and melted under the chair like, "OK that’s enough of THAT, thankyouverymuch!"
So. That’s where we are currently. We just need a little patience … I’m also hoping for more pics soon. I keep telling Gary, "Bring up the digital camera!" but he doesn’t … poor dear, he’s got a short memory. I have to do EVERYTHING myself …
More news when there is some!!”
Enjoy your easy everyone! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
