- Olena Needs a Forever Home
Today I would like to tell you about Olena. This sweet gal has been at Heartland Animal Shelter in Northbrook, IL for over two years now. She is 6 years and 8 months old and is just a totally gorgeous tuxedo girl with the silkiest fur. The thin vertical stripe on the left side of her face certainly makes her one of a kind. Olena is 6-1/2 years old as of April 2011. She’s a gentle soul, truly regal in appearance when she sits. She’s playful and outgoing – loves to cuddle up on a person’s lap and be petted and also enjoys belly rubs. Give her a head and ear massage, and she’ll stick by your side the whole time! For fun, Olena likes to watch the birds outside.
Olena is so comfortable being with all the cats at the shelter and could do well in a home already having several cats. If you think Olena could be the right cat for you, then please come and meet her soon. She has been waiting way too long.

We are purring for a good home for her. That makes us so sad. Our Harlequin has been at our shelter for over a year and in a home she is a sweetie but when she’s in the adoption room she gets so stressed she is a grump. The Woman was quite worried about her last week as she would not even come out of her cubby and so the lead volunteer took her home and put her in her room–she said totally different cat.
What a lovely girl!!! We sure hope she finds a loving home soon!

Every time we hear of a kitty like this we want to neuter/spay all pet cats in the hope that shelters will be emtpy and every kitty gets the wonderful home they deserve. Purring for this little darling.
