It’s been somewhat of a strange week around these parts. It’s been a lot cooler than normal, which isn’t bad, because that means more window whiffin time. But we’ve had some rain, which really is unusual because we’ve been in extreme drought. Actually the last two days we had almost 3 inches of rain.
Anyways, I’m sure glad Friday is here. Today T.G.I.F means The Gate Isn’t Fastened!
Since I was talking about weather, I thought I’d show you what goes on when a Tornado Warning happens here. A few weeks back we had a Tornado Warning and Dad got all of the carriers out and put them in one of our rooms with no exterior walls. And hey, Sister Dolly knows the drill and she got right in the carrier of her choice. Sister Zoe not so much. I usually get right in mine too, but the rest of the sisters have to be shown what to do. It isn’t that great of a picture because it was stormy dark. It’s always good to have a plan in case of emergencies, and practice so you know exactly what to do.
That’s enough about the weather. So what’s your big plans for the weekend??? We haven’t done it in a while, so I think I’m going to throw a NipFest on Saturday if y’all care to join us. Have a happy weekend everyone!
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
That is so smart to be all prepared. Good for you Sister Dolly for getting right in the carrier. What a good Daddy you have to take such good care of you. We are getting all the rain this morning. Hope all of you have a great nip fest this week end. We just might have to journey over there to join in. Take care.
You are such a great leader! Alex said he is in for the nip fest…. he will bring the nip martini’s (he has his shaker out already), and he is primping in front of the mirror to make sure he looks dapper for his girl…
You guys just became boy scouts! Be prepared is their motto, too, and I guess they never thought we cats would take it up as our own! Glad you didn’t have a real tornado, but in case you do, everybody’ll be ready!
Have a good weekend!
Tom
xoxo
Yep, it’s best to be prepared! We’re just glad you really didn’t have a tornado and had to put your plan into action!! Have a great weekend!!
You are very smart cats! It is good to be prepared.
We are finally getting some of that rain this morning.
Enjoy your weekend,
Kat
Wow I’m very impressed that your kitties all know the Tornado drill… here in the UK if there is the slightest hint of what we would call extreme weather it’s a national incident and on the news for weeks.
As for the weekend – well I think Sookie and Darcy now have a NipFest to attend!!
Awwwww clever sister Dolly and gorgeous Brian! Yay for you! Me and Charlie just know adorable sisters Dolly, Sascha, Gracie and Precious will soon follow suit!! Have a great weekend! Take care
x
I am amazed you all do that! I would sooner be flayed alive than get in MY carrier. Matter of fact I am convinced each time that is WHY I am in my carrier..to be flayed alive. xox
Sister Dolly just goes right in the PTU? Wow, we ARE impressed! You’re all very wise to be so prepared, Brian.
Happy weekend! Rain for us, so that means lots of errands and of course house work for the mom, sleeping for us.
It’s always good to be prepared. Have a great weekend!
We are glad you kitties and your mum and dad have a plan, it is always important to be prepared!!!
Mama wishes we were all like Sister Dolly!!!!!!!!!
Have a glorious weekend. xxxxxxx
It would be a very hard time before we would ever go into our PTU’s voluntarily!!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Good to see the girls relaxed in their carriers without a negative association. They’re like good girl scouts. Do they have the same motto as the boy scouts?
You have a great bad weather plan!
WOW M and I are impressed that some of you get right into your carrier when they come out of hiding. You’ll have to share your secret with M some time. It’s not going to fool me tho cuz I know they mean bad things.
We only get in carriers if we aren’t actually involved in going anywhere…..Mac went to be vaccinated and mom had to remove at least 2 cats from the carrier before she could get Mac in it. 🙂 Have a great weekend – we plan to take it easy. 🙂
You guys are smart to know what to do during a drill. It is good to be always prepared. Purrs.
Best to be prepared – hope you don’t need to actually do anything.
Dear Brian,
It is so good that yous has trained your pawrents about what to do in tornados. Me is sure the rest of the sisters will follow yous and Dolly’s lead.
We always has a nice restful Saturday cuz Mommy and Daddy is away at the Farmers Market on Saturdays. Me loves the break but it means me might miss the nip fest…
Kisses
Nellie
The Male has stuff to pack up so I am hoping that I get some time with the Woman! Woo Hoo! You never know!
I’m totally up for a nipfest! I’ll bring the salmon burgers. 😉 Tornado warnings are always terrifying. When we lived in Toronto, we remember that one year we were out on a walkathon on a beautiful sunny day, and as we were walking, the sky suddenly turned green. We didn’t find out until later that a tornado had actually touched down. :S Glad you kitties are safe and sound!
You are soooooo smart to be prepared for emergencies!!
Nipfest sounds pawsome. Will be there with bells on.
That’s great that you kitties know what to do during a tornado watch. It’s a good thing we don’t get them here, because we would probably scatter!
We are getting more window whiffins too!
That is very good of you to be so prepared!!! We would be clueless! Meowm would have to herd us into the bathroom as that is the only place we have with no outer walls!
We agree, it’s always good to be prepared! Big paws up to you and Dolly for getting right in those carriers. Very smart. 🙂
Hope you guys have a great nip fest!
Check your email Brian I am taking you to a party at Asta’s tomorrow. She is 5 years old now. ~Scylla
PS: I will try to stop Arty from nibbling on your ears but she is extremely playful after being cooped up inside. She actually destroyed a stuffie.
That’s a great emergency plan. My box is easy to get at in case of energency. This weekend I’m working #Pawpawty on Caturday and resting S(t)un(ning)day.
HH keeps the boys’ carriers in the living room. They like to play in them. So, she’s ready. She just needs to remember to put the boys in them. WE had a fire alarm at the condo a couple weeks ago and HH just grabbed a boy under each arm and ran out the door. That was fine for the drill, because it didn’t last long. If it had been the real thing she would have wanted the carriers. Good lesson to learn…
Thanks for the reminder.
pawhugs, Max
Rumblemum wants to know what the secret is to getting you guys to go into your cage without bloodshed!
I reeeeally like how all of you cooperate and get into your cages to be safe.
Miles and I hide under the bed, then mom goes nuts
bonkbonk for a happy rain free week-end

Holy Cod! We are flabbergasket that ANY kitty would voluntarily get into a PTU! We’ve never heard of such a thing! Anyone tries to put any one of us in one and we grab onto anything and everything with our claws of doom. We’re like kitty sized pieces of velcro.
Wow Dolly you go right into the PTU?
*wow*
We are impurrested! When the boomers start most of us hide and I am not sure Mom would be able to find all of us in time. The only one she would be able to grab is me, because I generally follow her.
purrs

You and Sister Dolly are very wise to get in your PTUs.
You can count us in for your nip fest. We are on our way.
Love you guys!!!!
Brian, you are so right to have a plan and to practice it! We’re glad the tornado stayed away. We hope you have a fun weekend. We’re supposed to get cooler weather this weekend too so maybe we’ll be able to enjoy some window whiffies.
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
Brian, your Dad must be a Cat Whisperer! We run like the Devil when we see a carrier!
Just popping by to thank you for all your kind wishes for Sweet Pea and Buddy!
Your pal, Pip
Looks like you kitties are all ready in case there is ever some crazy weather!
Hopefully this weekend will be lovely for you!
xo Catherine
you are very wise Brian!
My husband teases me when we have tornado warnings because I put Cody in his carrier and take he and Dakota to the basement of our condo. My husband says I am nuts…I tell him he can blow away with the condo but Cody, Dakota and I won’t! lol
That’s really good that you guys are well aware of what to do in times of an emergency. We’re real lucky not to have tornadoes here…
Good thing your dad is prepared. 🙂
Always good to be prepared, but I give Mom problems going into the closet on Tornado days. Dolly, you’re a trusting kitty.
xoxo Kassey
Hahaha we have 2 medium dog carriers and a cat carrier here, and rest assured, should the need ever arise (and it has a few times), TSB has no fear of shoving us into the nearest available carrier together (even if that means the kitty carier) and getting us to safety. She is too afraid of not being able to protect one of us if we in separate carriers, so we always go in one so she can protect us both. When the boy was still alive, he was Mr. Cat’s responsibility as he was so much bigger HAHA.
