Sister Saturday with Gracie

Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it!

Well hello everyone, Brian tells me it is my Saturday. Hey Brian, I thought every day was my day!  Brian is so funny, he thinks he is so much in charge, but that’s okay, sometimes it’s just easier if we let him believe that one.

I’ve got to tell you though, Spring has been very rough for me. Yes, it’s my asthma. Here recently I have had quite a few pretty bad asthma attacks, bad ones, and for several days in a row. Fortunately my Dad has been right there with my rescue inhaler, but a time or two I wasn’t sure that was even going to help.  There has even been some talk about me maybe going back on those evil steroid pills. We’ll have to see though, but that means a vet visit and I’m really not too keen on that idea. I hope the others aren’t too upset with me because with my asthma being so bad the back doors haven’t been open hardly at all.  The bedroom windows get open because I rarely go in there and sit in or by the windows, but the doors overlooking the deck and the backyard, nope, hardly open at all. That does seem to help, but that is my favorite whiffing spot along with Sisters Sascha and Dolly.  But Dad says we can’t risk it right now.

Enough of that asthma stuff, let’s talk about something fun…silvervine pillows. Yes, Dad ordered us some from Nip and Bones, and let me tell you, those are some fun pillows. Dad was a little concerned with me whiffin something strange with my asthma (oops, sorry, there is that bad word again), but they didn’t bother me one bit.  Fun they are, and I think Brian might be posting a few pictures sometime next week.  So I’ve been getting some silvervine exercise rolling around on the floor. Between those silvervine pillows and the Neko Flies playtime has been lots of fun.  That’s about it for me, but before I go I have to say something really important…LOVE YA ALEX!!!

See you all next time.  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Sister Gracie, you look so sweet there and so serious too. I’m really sorry that you have that horrible asthma. That’s so hard for you to go thru and your Dad too. Our Mom’s and Dad’s just get so sad when we kitties are not feeling well. They want so much to make it better. You rest there for now..and breathe as easy as you can. Lots of purrs from me to you. xoxox

Gracie, we are sorry to hear that your asthma has been so bad. We understand this spring has been an especially bad one for bad pollens. We hope you do not need a vet visit.

Sweet Sister Gracie – Hannah is sending comforting purrs to you are she was treated for asthma with steroids for 2 years. We only discovered she she wasn’t suffering with asthma when she went to have her teeth cleaned and the vet discovered she had a gum disease and took all her teeth (except for her incisors) out. She has not had asthma since – we’re not saying it is the same for Sister Gracie but it could be worth asking your vet to just check her teeth and gums. Mum just mashes her food up a bit and she… Read more »

Gracie, sorry to hear that springtime is so hard for you this year. Mama is always cleaning up for us, we have the neighbours call us when they are going to mow the lawn so that we close the windows. Glad to hear you are enjoying playtime.

I’m so sorry you’re missing out on all the spring window whiffin’ stuff. I really hope your breathing will come more easily once summer arrives and the trees have shed all their pollen. Thank goodness your dad knows exactly what to do with your inhaler to help you when you have an attack. I’ll send some high quality purrs your way, my friend. Here they come!

Sorry you are having such a rough time with the asthma Gracie… sounds like you are trying to make the best of it, but we sure hope it can get under control so you don’t have to go to the vet. xoxo

I hope you start feeling better. To be honest that is one reason the Woman isn’t sure she wants to live in your neck of the woods–because of allergies! Well and she doesn’t like really high humidity either, but I guess something called air conditioning would help that (we do not have that here). I hope you feel better!

Sorry to hear about that asthma, Gracie. All the pollen has been causing lots of problems around here, too. 🙁 Feel better, sweet girl.

Those silvervine pillows sound silver-di-vine! MOL!

Those silvervine pillows are awesome, aren’t they, Gracie? That sucks about your asthma. I have it a little myself, but the open windows don’t bother me. What I DO think is a problem – and my human agrees and maybe the vet too – are those never-been cleaned air ducts that are sitting right at kitty level in my house. Either the heater or the air conditioner is on around here, depending on the time of year, and I don’t think that filthy air is good for anybody!
