I sure am glad that the “big boomy shoot of fireworks all night long” week is almost over. I know, the holiday was Wednesday, but here in the South where fireworks are legal, everyone it seems buys enough to last through the weekend. And it has been so hot and everything is so dry. That’s what my T.G.I.F. today is, The Grass Is Fading.
If you look over Sister Dolly’s right ear you can see the brownish grass and Dad says it is almost crunchy when he walks on it. We have had some thunderstorms but we need a nice long and easy rain. Still, our weeds are going like gang busters. Sister Zoe doesn’t know what to make of it all.
So what’s your plans for the weekend? We were gonna do a happy dance but we might just do a rain dance instead. Have fun everyone!
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Sister Zoe and Sister Dolly!! You two are so adorable!! You are floofilicously fantastic! Yay!! Awww glad the big loud bangs are soon to be over!! Now for nice rain please!! Have a great Friday lovely Brian, Gracie, Sascha and Precious too! Take care

Have a great weekend.

Whew, you gots all that just right, Mr. Brian! This weekend, we think we gonna help out Mumsy find a place here in the air conditions for our tub o’catnip!
You guys all have a happy this weekend, and stay cool.
Oh my…those grass sure look like they need lots of water. It’s amazing how weeds are able to survive the heat but not the grass.
We sure hope your rain dance will bring some much needed rain to your area. 🙂
Feel free to come by and collect our rain – nearly everywhere is flooded in England now and still it comes down (over a month now rain almost everyday) and this should be our summer!!.
We are glad to hear that your boomie fireworks will soon be over for another year.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Well our grass looks just like yours, all nice and brown. Zoe you and Sister Dolly look so nice looking out the window. We are just planning on trying to stay cool this week end. Hope all of you have a great week end.
Luckily we got rain Wednesday. We did a happy dance cause Mommy had more time to spend with us since she didn’t have to water the plants. Scylla is off the the vet today for her annual checkup and shots. Brian, why don’t you drop by for lunch to cheer her up? ~Socks
Brian, what is it with the weeds?? How can they survive no rain but the grass gets crunchy?? We’ve had some storms the last couple of days and it’s helped our grass a little bit, but it also has made things real steamy too!
We’re having similar problems here, too. Our lawn isn’t looking too bad ’cause it’s more violets than lawn (’cause the peep hasn’t been doin’ her weedin’ duties like she should) and apparently, the violets stand up to the heat better than the grass. She ‘says’ that’s all part of the plan. I say, get out there and weed you ol’ peep! I have a reputation to uphold!!! purrs (actually, I love her dearly… really, I do)
Yep, our grass is getting pretty crunchy here too (generally speaking, we mean, not “our” patch of weeds in our garden!).
We hope you get window whiffies over the weekend (that it cools down enough for some).
Thanks for the purrs for Nicki, we appreciate them!
Please do a rain dance all you lovely floofy cats!
Hope the fireworks don’t last into the weekend.
We are purring that you get some rain. WE were in a drouth last year but got a lot early this year. It has now stopped raining, again!
Brian, we think the rain dance is the way to go…
We’re experiencing the exact same thing as you: dry grass and endless firecrackers. We need a good rain and some quiet time this weekend.
Great weekend!!!!!!
Sister Zoe, you look so sweet while sitting there wondering.
I am gonna just play and nap this weekend..oh, and eat too. xoxoxox
Yikes we need rain too, they keep saying there is rain in the forecast but it does not come!!! We have a heat advisory on at the moment and will probably break a record today!
Stay cool kids, enjoy the weekend 🙂
So why don’t weeds need as much water as grass? Really? You are welcome to come here now. We had fireworks on the fourth–quite a lot actually but now they are done.
Dolly and Zoe are looking beautiful as always! We sure hope you guys get some much-needed rain real soon … your poor grass.
Have a relaxing weekend, pals. And stay cool, okay?
The boomies are continuing here, probably through the weekend. I wish they would stop already! My grass is pretty crunchy, too. I broke down and watered it for a bit, because I couldn’t stand that crunch.
We hope you get some rain soon – we have goten lots of storms and some with heavy rains!!!
We hope you get rain and we hope we get some too. Not a chance for us though. Mama said she is going to be afraid to look at the water bill when it comes.
Happy weekend
Hugs
Our grass is dry too – we are in perpetual drought here in southern California, so we can’t water it enough in the summer. I hope your weekend isn’t TOO noisy!
We hope those people with the extra fireworks dont set that brown grass on fire! Yikes! We hope you have a nice cool rainy weekend!
Our heat wave continues but no more fireworks! We’re on a digital detox vacay, just bare minimum online. Thanks for you support and loyalty at Cat Wisdom 101!
Like just about everyone, we’re trying to keep cool! That crunchy grass isn’t exactly paw-friendly!

We vote for rain dance! Our grass IS crunchy – and even the weeds have stopped growing!! Dreadful, just dreadful…keeping water out for outdoor critters, hoping for some rain – that’s what we’ll be doing this weekend. Keep cool and have a great one!
our grass looks the same, it is just awful. I have been in every day since Monday due to the heat. Staying in tomorrow too and hopefully we are going to cool down for Sunday….hope you do too and that we all get some rain!
You guys woulda liked the city’s Epic Fail fireworks show in San Diego–somebody pushed the Wrong Button and ALL the fireworks wented off at once–it was spectacular, but it only lasted 15 seconds. And that was that! Bad for the peeps who waited hours for the show; good for the kittehs and doggies!
Our grass is brown and crunchy as well.
Sisters Dolly and Zoe
WE can’t figure out why in the world the grass will start to fade but the weeds seem to always grow no matter what. It’s the same here. Mom was again out in the yard pulling weeds. WE think she should just let the weeds win, but she continues to pull. We hope you don’t have too many fire crackers go off. Here in Florida the only “legal” fireworks are those sparklers but it sure doesn’t stop people from setting off the “real” deal.
Have a great weekend.

We will join you in a rain dance although we HAVE had some showers the past two days. Enough to cool the temps but not to end the drought…but hey, maybe our clouds and coolness is heading your way! Have a great weekend!
Our grass is crunchy. We have gotten some rain the past few days, but not enough. I hope you don’t get too many boomies over the weekend. We will join you in doing a rain dance. Mom is threatening to get out the lawnmower and mow what grass there is, but I’ll believe that when I see it.

Hi there! This is kind of off topic but I need some help from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any points or suggestions? Appreciate it
