We all get close to our blogging buddies and when something happens, perhaps a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, or wildfire. we worry like crazy because we don’t know if our buddies are okay. One reason is that we usually read each others blogs, but we never actually connect outside of our blogs. We might know where you are from, but we really don’t know how to contact you. Wouldn’t it be nice if we had an organized system to help us and our buddies team up? Our friend Cheri from Cats of Wildcat Woods had a wonderful idea. She has come up with Pet Blogging Buddies to try and help us connect with someone close to us. I love this idea and it has so much potential for all of us, but in order for it to work we need to purrticipate.
The general idea is based on the tried and true Buddy System. You team up with a buddy, someone geographically close to you, and you keep in contact with your buddy to make sure all is well with them. Pretty simple, but let me give you an example. I live in Greenville, SC and we are buddies with Marg and Puddles from We 3 Doxies, but in this case I will use Marg as my example. I know that Marg posts on her blog every day and she usually leaves a comment on my blog early in the morning. If I don’t hear from her I figure something is not normal and I’m going to be checking on Marg. I have Marg’s contact information and she has mine, we’re buddies. A couple of weeks ago Marg had a bad thunderstorm roll through her area and it knocked out her phone service…no phone, no internet, no blogging or commenting. Marg called from her cell phone me to let me know and I was able to let others know that Marg was okay.
Pet Blogging Buddies is a great place for you to sign up based on where you live and then you can connect with a buddy or buddies. Sign up and connect. Now, listen up, not too many of you have been there and signed up yet. What are you waiting for?
I am thankful for my buddies and you will be thankful for yours too. Keep track of your buddies and we’ll all sleep easier.

Yes, we have made wonderful friends here we do worry about when we don’t hear from them, or know bad weather is in their area. We think this is a great idea and have already signed up. We hope everyone does and finds buddies. We can’t have too many friends.
We are so thankful for your and Marg’s busy system with each other.
That was supposed to be BUDDY, not busy!!
I think that this is such a great idea…..
I LOVE it. I have a buddy but she’s a thousand miles away. I don’t have one near me. 🙁
We would like to participate but there aren’t lots of us in the UK.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
We think this is such a good idea and we are so lucky to have such a good buddy in Brian and his family. This buddy system really is a great idea. We are thrilled to have it. Hope all have a super day.
What a wonderful idea! I’ve been lucky to meet several fellow IL bloggers and it’s been so much fun. We’ll definitely check this out.
Your pal, Pip
It’s a wonderful idea! Foreign friends can also participate?
I went and signed up but I am the only one so far in California, though I know there are some other Bay Area and L.A. area bloggers! I hope some sign on for this!
AMO VOCES!! Fiquem com o Papai do Céu. Aus… Read more »

Thanks for posting this Brian. We are getting more comments letting all know where each of the bloggers are located. I am slowly getting everyone on the posts with their blog link.

We think this is a great idea. We have our name listed but we haven’t actually paired up with a buddy yet.
I think this is a great idea too – so far no one in my area, southern California.
What a terrific idea! It is always worrisome when our blogging friends are unaccounted for.
Good stuff!

Me and Charlie love gorgeous Cheri’s idea and we’ve following her wonderful pet blogging buddies blog!!! Yay!!! Take care

We agree that this is a wonderful initiative though it may be hard for us to find buddies close to us. Perhaps we could be buddies even though we are separated by thousands of miles? Mommy does communicate with several of our furriends through Facebook and email and it would be easy to give a quick update through either the landline internet or through the handphones. Would it be okay to choose buddies that’s NOT based on geographical location?
What a great idea!
Great idea and we’re checking it out!
So glad you’re passin the word! We’re signed up, too! Happy Thursday, furriends. xoxo
I thought it was an excellent idea and I added my name to the list. Looking forward to having a buddy and being a buddy to someone.
I think it is a fabulous idea and I signed up!

oh my….we think we dint visit you guys more than few catmonths. we’re so very sorry Brian!!
Excellent idea, Brian and I will check it out.
Great idea, we signed up. We are the only Texas cats so far.
We’re too far away from all of you to do this, but we have good neighbours here. We’ll tell them that if anything happens to us, to leave a note on our blog!
An excellent idea!
This is a great idea! We’ll hafta sign up!!
It might be a better idea to buddy with someone not in your area. We were without power for close to a week earlier in the month, as were 1,200,000 other people in our state. If you buddy with someone farther way and a natural disaster strikes, it probably would only affect one of the buddies, not both.
Me is going to has to goes and sees if there is any cats in the middle of nowhere!
Me could use a buddie!
Kisses
Nellie
PS Brian, yous looks purrticularly handsome today
Hi Brian, and we are trying to join, but we can’t find California???
