Today, as a part of Zee & Zoey’s First Annual Cat Ruler of the World Campaign for a Cause Contest Extravaganza I get to tell you a little bit about the shelter I selected. First let me show you why I love them so much…
Meet Sandy, the founder of Kitten Action Team. Sandy never gave up on me, never. She was so happy when I got my forever home and just couldn't wait to tell everyone that I had been adopted.
While Kitten Action Team does not have a major presence on the web, they are a real-world, boots-on-the-ground force for all things good in the world of cat adoption. Literally thousands of cats and kittens have been saved and placed in loving forever homes through the endless work of their small, but mighty group of volunteers.
Kitten Action Team runs Cat Adoption events on weekends at one of the local PetSmart stores in Greenville, SC. Let me show you some of the residents currently in the care of Kitten Action Team. These photos were taken at adoption day two weeks ago….
Look at these two cute tabbies, don't they look like little Sister Gracies? They were very attentive and are more than ready for their loving homes. And notice too the photo hanging up on their cage. This sweet lady was rescued with her eye ball hanging out of it's socket. Did they give up on her? No! They got her the medical attention she needed, which in this case meant the removal of her left eye. She is now ready for her real forever home and I hope someone gives her the love she deserves really, really soon.
There was lots of orange tabby goodness there too and these two would just make any home a happier home.
Of course, you know I just couldn't resist showing you one more tabby that is ready and waiting…sort of looks like me when I was waiting there.
Kitten Action Team does whatever is necessary to save the kittens and cats. One of the volunteers recently spent weeks trapping several ferals (TNR) at the request of a lady who was taking care of them.m Once they were finally all TNR'd guess what happened? The lady caring for them up and moved. Seriously. The KAT volunteer is now caring for them until so other proper arrangement can be made. They are always, it seems, headed somewhere to find and rescue the kittens. Let me tell you, they've crawled under many an abandoned house to rescue the kittens.
They are truly a wonderful bunch of humans and I am thrilled to have a chance to try and help them out. They really maximize every single dollar and every single thing they get. Most of all, they maximize the love given to the cats and kittens in their care. Thanks for being there for all of us Kitten Action Team, we love you!
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Oh it’s so sad Brian..all this kitties needing homes, they are all so beautiful..So pleased the shelter is a no kill shelter..That’s just great and the people who work so hard to help these Kitties are real hero’s 🙂 Have a great Thursday xx
Brian, was that first kitten picture you as a baby?
all the kittens are so cute. I want to kiss them all.. I hope they find a forever home soon…
Those people sound like such terrific people to help the animals like they do. We sure hope you win so they can get the prize. I just might have to start campaigning for you Brian. We would love to see this shelter get that prize for sure. If they ever want me to post about any of their cats, please give them my email. Take care.
Oh Brian..I am so impressed with them and you and your two sisters came from there? Good enough for me!
Three Cheers for the Kitten Action Team ! We can’t imagine you had to be there for so long before you got your forever home ! As a couple of rescues (Tipp – UNCats, Dexter – AC Paws) and one who would have been in another week or so (Harry) we know that “Rescued” is the bestus breed. Keep up the good word Brian! Thanks for the awesome story
Yay!! What a great group of folks! Give it up for the Kitten Action Team! 🙂
Shelle, Milo, Dixie and Newby,

Kitty Action Team sounds as though it is a great place for kitties who don’t have furever homes yet.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Wow! Another great shelter, Kitten Action Team!
Thanks for sharing about them.
Purrs
How wonderful that you and your sisters, Sascha, Gracie, and Zoe were all adopted from Kitten Action Team! What a great organization of caring, devoted, and compassionate people.
I am humbled more than words can express as to the significance of this contest and I am so proud of all of the Cat-idates who are participating. All the shelters are so worthy and it is such a privilege to be able to give them the spotlight they deserve.
Such great shelters and only one vote. It isn’t fair. Before I was “convinced” to work for Katie, my first choice was a Cat Ruler who supported his local shelter. While I didn’t come from A Call 4 Paws, I work for them and they, too, don’t have a splashy web presence cos they spend all their time helping animals. Best of luck.
What a great group….we love those “boots on the ground” people that walk the walk!!!
We were really excited to hear more about Kitten Action Team because we know you all advocate for them so much through your blog and this was a chance to tell us all! They do sound great–I mean they found you and your sisters didn’t they?!
Sounds like a wonderful group Brian!!!
Wonderful KAT people and rescue residents!! Me and Charlie love you all too!! We are so grateful for all the good wonderful and beautiful work that KATs do and we just know these beauties here will find forever homes!! Yay!!! Take care

What a wonderful post and pictures about the Kitten Action Team. Terrific.
hugs, Max, Bugsy, and Knuckles
Sad, yet happy that people give so much of themselves to save so many.
Brian we’re so glad you were rescued by Kitten Action Team. It’s always amazing how much love humans can have for kitties when there are so many sad stories out there. Thank you for bringing the Kitten Action Team to our attention and good luck with the contest.
We really loved this post and are proud to campaigning with you. At the end of the day, it’s about helping cats and you do.
Kitten Action Team does indeed sound like a truly honourable and worthy cause. They definitely are in it for the long haul. I can certainly see why you are so invested in them emotionally and want to help them continue all their good work.
It’s wonderful that you and your sisters who came from their shelter are now giving back to them in more ways than one.
By the way, Sister Sascha is on her third date with Dante today on his “All about Lacocoon Dante” blog at https://allaboutlacocoondante.blogspot.com.
Thank you SO much for sharing the story of Kitten Action Team with us. What an amazing organization. Bless them for the tireless work they do to help these kitties in need. We are so honored to be part of this Campaign For A Cause Contest. ALL of the shelters make a significant impact on the lives of so many cats in need. It truly is heartwarming to learn about so many organizations that are there to help. …but heartbreaking that the need is so great. For once we’re relieved we don’t have to vote. We wish they ALL could… Read more »

Brian thank you for sharing about your lovely shelter. It is another very worthy cause. It is going to be difficult for folks to decide I can see! xx
Wow, Brian, with so many family members graduates of Kitten Action Team (including yourself), it’s no wonder you are supporting this awesome rescue! I wish everyone’s rescue could win – each one seems so deserving!
What a deserving rescue! How neat if you win you will be giving to other kitties where you were all rescued.
We couldn’t get the Zee & Zoey link to work.
Kitten Action team sound awesome Brian!
So glad they helped you and some of your sissfurs.
We are purring that all those sweet kitties find forever homes.
Aw, those first four reasons are great! And the rest, really makes it sink in! Good choice, and a wonderful endorsement!
What a great rescue! The lady cat who lost her left eye breaks my heart..but so glad she was rescued by those wonderful people. She deserves really good home and other kitties, too.
Amazing & Awesome place!
What a great cause and a great post!
Wonderful Post!!! What amazing people, and Cats!!!
Kitten Action Team sounds like an amazing group. Stripes was a rescue cat. Peaches was left for dead on the side of the road and my vet saved her…and now she is a very happy one year old cat. She still has a limp and always will, but she loves everyone in the family, even the dog…
Oh Brian
We just got all warm and fuzzy.
That is one wonderful shelter.
We are so glad that there are so many giving humans out there that work for US!!!

Its so great to meet these pawsome individuals who helped you and your sisters find forever home. Sandy and the Kitten Action Team are beyond wonderful in the work they do in helping cats find their forever home.
Gorgeous kitties everywhere and what a good cause. Brian thanks for sharing–you are such a class act 🙂
hey, those grads look familiar 😉 bless everybuddy at KAT for working so hard on the kitties’ behalf – another wonderful organisation! purrs,
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
That is heartbreaking and also heartwarming that the cat with the eyeball hanging out was rescued and is not waiting for her forever home! Love the updates about this rescue organization. What a wonderful thing they are doing for these sweet kitties!
Wow…so hard to see, yet so much hope and care for them.
Hey Brian, Jet here.
Thanks for shedding a bright light on such a heartfelt group doing such kind and caring work. Breaks our hearts to see felines so poorly treated, reminds Mom of Puffy and Fluffy’s story…
Now we love KAT too!!!!
KAT sounds like a great group, Brian! Thanks for introducing them to us!!
You’ve stumped for them before and we can see why! What excellent work they do! Best wishes to all their kitties and hoping they find their new homes soon.
Thank heaven for these sweet people, looking after these little ones.
What a great cause! Me wishes that yous all could win!
Kisses
Nellie
What a fantastic group Kitten Action team is, Brian. Thank you for campaigning for them!
Brian thank you for this post. We are partial to the smaller organizations because we adopted Cody from a smaller rescue that also brings cats and dogs to our local PetCo (at the time). They weren’t well-known at all but had they not been at PetCo on July 28, 2007 (and 2 weeks prior to that when I first saw Cody but didn’t adopt him) I might never have my most special boy!
What a wonderful organization and people who work for it. We are glad to realize that all even the runner-up shelters will benefit. And the publicity the contest gives to them all is great.
KAT are a great cause to campaign for. We really don’t know how we will be able to decide where our vote goes.
Here’s to feral cat power! All kittens have a chance at a home . Thanks KAT.
Hi. I am hoping you can provide me with some advice. We are providing food & shelter to 2 adorable feral kittens – 1 male, 1 female. The mama cat was dropped off, she gave birth in the fall & has abandoned them. It has been a challenge for us during the snow & ice to keep them warm outside, but my husband has gone the extra mile to protect these sweet babies who are probably now about 12 weeks old. Occasionally, I am able to catch & cuddle the little ones, but they are so shy that I must… Read more »
