First things first. I have a confession to make, this is a picture from last year. My Wednesday picture was a current picture though and I was okay with that since is was a close-up picture of my face. Remember I hate the brush and comb? Well, instead of changing my name to Sister Mattie (funny Brian), I got me a full Lion Cut. This happened when I was asleep during my dental cleaning several weeks ago and, let me tell you, I was a bit surprised when I woke up. But don’t be feeling bad for me, I’m quite okay with it now.
Dad was reading us a blog post from Cat Tee Mission where their Bosco had gotten a hot new looks. Turns out we look somewhat stylish and similar. The post talked about how much better Bosco felt and that he was more energetic and happy. I could immediately relate to that one. Bosco got his cut because of the hot temperatures and I got mine because of my mats. But let me tell you, I’m feeling good! I am running around everywhere, playing, sleeping on the big bed, and jumping up on the cat tree. I never felt like doing those things because my mats pulled on my skin when I moved too much. I am enjoying play time and I am now making biscuits with the best of them.
The best part is that my Mancat Dante doesn’t mind at all and calls me his Lioness. And my Brother Brian and my sisters never made fun of me. I’m sure it had nothing to do with Dad telling them that if anyone made fun they would get the same fur style. Truthfully they all seem happy that I am so happy. And even though the picture today is from last year, I am spending lots of time snoozing under the Christmas Tree. So, that’s what I’ve been up to and why you haven’t seen that many pictures of my lately. I’ve got to go chase something so I will see you all next time!

Sister Sascha, I know you look sleek and beautiful. Mats are hprrible. Admiral had them cause her fur was curly. Mom brushed most out but the tummy ones eventually got shaved. We always feel better without the mats. xoxoxo
Mats can be a pain indeed, and that was tricky to do when you were sleeping. Rest comfortable under the tree.

That was pretty sneaky and smart of your Dad to get you trimmed while you were asleep. Glad you don’t live here in the cold north, you’d need a Christmas sweater to keep you warm.
I’m so glad that you feel good about your cut. I heard my mom person call the groomer today so I’m pretty worried that I may be next!

BTW, we have a cat that used to live under the peeps’ porch who got so matted, the entire side of her fur peeled off. TW had to call her friend the Vet tech to come and get her. The sad part was, this cat had a home and they didn’t want her.
We wanna see your new look, Sister Sascha! Mommy grooms cats and she often hears how happy the cats are after they get a lion cut. 🙂

Humans have no idea how much mats can bother us kitties! And that the ones who hate having them brushed out the most are most likely to be the ones who are also the most bothered by them. But if you think about it, it does make sense, doesn’t it? I am glad you’re feeling so much better!

Our former cat Niles, looked somewhat like Sasha and had the lion cut in summer. He would be so embarrassed after it was over that he’d hind under the sofa for a while when he came home.

Thanks for sharing about your teeth cleaning and hair cut. Our older cat Ginger needs a hair cut. She loves to be brushed but only on the face. She lets me wash her and blow dry her but I think a haircut would make brushing her so much easier. Your post has made me think to ask the groomer how they do cats. 🙂
Sascha, I have had a haircut too and I LOVED being nood! Mommy says I can get another one next summer and I can hardly wait.

Darling! The Human gets all wild and crazy about those buzz cuts! She tried to get all Grabby Hands with Tiny Johnson at the Katnip Lounge when he had his some time back.
