I am reminded of my old cat-mate Hobie (tabby cat)…. Story: Long Long ago, in a galaxy far away. My momma had two cats. One she had (her first) named Hobie and a newly acquired second one, Willie, she rescued from a friend.

New daddy did not so much like cats. He thought two was too much. In fact, he promised to change the litterbox furever and ever if one of the cats begone (ahem, Willlie). So, momma had sister who wanted newly rescued cat Willie. No worries, life was good. Daddy (now old daddy) changed that litterbox for 19 years. Hobie lived to one month shy of 22 yrs old. Daddy did not know cats lived that long (otherwise he would have never made the deal!) No matter. Daddy turned out to be Hobie’s best buddy. During Hobie’s last year of life, Daddy supplied all the nightly IVs which extended his life 1.5 years from the time the doctor diagnosed he might pass. Daddy loved little Hobie (momma did too) and we know there will never be another like him.
