Sister Saturday with Sascha

Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it!
Hello everyone! I wanted to let you all know that there has been some talk around here of changing my name. Oh, I really don’t think it is necessary and I’m pretty sure Dad and Mom are only kidding. They said they were going to change my name from Sascha to Mattie. Mattie? Seriously, my fur mats are back, mostly around the base of my tail region. I just cannot like brushing or combing no matter how much Dad practices with me. Dad does practice, and I practice biting his hand. I am actually better at doing my part than Dad is at doing his part.

The last time I had a mat issue I went to the Vet and came back looking like a lion.  Actually I didn’t mind the lion look, but I sure didn’t like the ride in the car and the teeth cleaning that happened at the same time.  Anyways, for the time being the sneaky Dad took another approach.  He got out the clippers and buzzed the mats right out of my fur.  Now Dad and I both have a bald spot!!!  I have to say that it does feel better and you can’t really tell unless you see me from behind and I’ve instructed the Mom photographer not to let that happen.

I think I’ll just stay up here in the tree for a while where the clipper beast can’t find me again.  I hope you all have a mat-free weekend!

Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip!  Later!

I am glad you didn’t have to get a Lion Cut, Sasha. I also have mats “back there” and some on my sides. Brushing for me is only allowed on my headie and down my spine.

OH Sister Sascha! I know Angel Admiral would really feel your fear and embarrassment. She was all matted the last 6 months she was with mom because she wasn’t grooming herself. That is not like you, I know. Just ‘splainin’ Angel Admiral’s predicament. She liked brushing but once her curly furs matted, it was all over but the meowing. She had to get her tummy and her leggies shaved!

Oh Sascha, we hope they don’t change your name. We kind of like Sascha. Sorry to hear about your mats. That isn’t any fun at all. But glad you got some of them clipped right off of you. Hope all of you have a super and a dry day.

Sascha we have a knotty problem here too – Hannah has a couple of big knots and Mum is trying to snip bits off with a small pair of scissors which she keeps near her chair. This usually works well but it has been so hot here Hannah is not sitting on Mum’s knee and if she can’t get some decent snips at them this weekend she may have to resort to the V-E-T option.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

I think Sasha is a perfect name. and I’m glad the mat issues are history. have a great mat-free weekend ( Iknow that’s annoying – my mom has this problem sometimes too with her fur)

How traumatic, Sister Sascha. But we guess it beats going to the v-e-t for a lion cut. Our furs are so silky soft, that they don’t mat at all. Have a great weekend!

Oh boy Sascha! Those darn mats are so annoying – Mr. Jazz has them and won’t let us anywhere near him – glad you are doing okay after the clipping and hope you don’t have to go to the V-E-T!!

I bet that feels much better. My long haired kitty I had just hated his tail brushed too and he got mats. You have to keep beautified.

Sascha..Mats are nasty sweetie ..I cheat with my long haired Muggins..I sit with a rat tail comb and run it lightly over him..he purrs and purrs it takes forever but I do get the mats out. So happy your cooler now and enjoying your perch on the top!

Sascha, we’re pretty sure Mom and Dad are just kidding. But we’re sure glad that Dad helped you get rid of those mats. We bet your furs will grow back real soon.

  12. Dip Bridge & Elliot

You look quite lion-like anyway Sasha with your beautiful golden furs.
Ugh, we hate the dreaded clippers and getting out the mats.
Hope the bald spot grows back soon, BOL.

I’m with you on this issue, kitty. I despise being groomed and make it extremely rough for my mom. She manages to get me brushed but I don’t like it one bit. I have never had to be shaved…a fur clump here or there carefully snipped out but never shaved. Poor kitty.

Giulietta is in the same shape as you. Dad keeps working on the mats, but he isn’t being too successful. Our humans don’t have any clippers, and she has begged them not to take her and leave her furs in the hands of a groomer. This is the first time she has had this problem. We suggest you just keep your butt to the wall until your furs grow back. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Oh poor Sweetie! We know that long, beautiful furs like your can get tangled for sure. That is such a pretty picture of you.
