Oh friends, I am doing so much better now, and thank you so much for all the kind messages and the purrs, woos and prayers. I surely do appreciate each of you more than I can say.
Last weekend, the long holiday weekend, was just no fun at all. The Mom was the first to notice that I was having a problem going to the litter box. Well, it became obvious pretty quickly that I had a problem as there was some blood in my pee. I kept going to the litter box about every 5-10 minutes. So, on Friday off to the Vet I went. I was very good during the car ride and I didn’t complain at all like some brother of mine does.
I was also good at the vet and got an antibiotic shot to help me with my UTI. On Saturday I seemed to be a little bit better during the day, but later that night things got a little bit worse. Then, Sunday morning, things were not good at all. So, Dad packed me up and off we went to the Animal Emergency Clinic of Greenville.
I know, unfortunately, that lots of you have had to go to an Emergency Clinic too, and we all know that they are no fun and are even scarier than the Vet place. When we first got there we thought it might be quick since there wasn’t anyone else there. They took me immediately to the back since I was panting and seemed to be having some respiratory issues too.
Then things changes, the waiting room filled up with several real woofie emergencies, which of course they had to handle quickly. The staff took good care of me and made sure I was comfortable. I got to see Dr. Elliott, whom I had seen before, and he took lots of time with me when it was finally my turn. I had some inflammation that was causing me some pain and it made me think I had to pee all the time. They took some x-rays which showed no blockages or stones, hooray! I came home after about four hours with some pain meds and instructions to take a small dose of prednisone to help me with my asthma flare up.
I do want to show you one of the main reasons I’m doing better, because I had great nursing help!
Nurse Sascha hardly every left my side. She was with me everywhere I went, even all the trips to the litter box. She laid by my side constantly and took the best care of me ever. Thanks Sister Sascha, I love you too!
It was a long Sunday morning, but since I’m feeling much better now, I think it was well worth it. I just don’t care to have any repeat performances anytime soon!
That’s it for me today, so I’m off to nap. Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I’ll see you in Blogville! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
We so pawleased yous doing better and with Sister Sasha looking after you, what could be better 🙂 xx0xxx

We are so happy you’re feeling so much better now, Sister Gracie. And a big YAY to Sister Sascha for being such a good, attentive nurse. 🙂
Lots of hugs and be strong!!!
Gracie we are so glad you are better and paws up to Sascha for doing such a nice job of nursing you. Have a super Saturday.
Best wishes Molly
oh gracie, my poor sweet girl. I am so sorry you had such a rough time of it. But I am very glad you are feeling better and that you had such a sweet and special nurse by your side. You had another nurse too, looking down at you, and making sure you were on the mend. I know Alex was there every step of the way with his sweet lady love
We are so glad to hear that you are feeling better, Gracie! Extra treats for Nurse Sascha for taking care of you while you recovered.
Wow! Sasha IS an excellent nurse and sister. What great care she took of you.
The prednisone will help a lot, I think. I’ve never been on it but my dad has, all three of my aunties have and so has my brother Seville. Oh… and you know who else? My peep #2! Yeah.. Total truth. Only difference was that that time, it was prescribed by a peep doctor and not my own personal Doctor Teresa.
Purrs,
Nissy
We’re glad you are feeling better Gracie – we know what that nasty cystitis is like and it’s nasty. Thank you all for your kind words about Lucy who has eaten a little bit now and has some medications to take to make her want to eat.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Gracie, we are so glad you are doing better and that Nurse Sascha took such good care of you. Healing purrs that you stay well and no more ER visits (which are NO FUN at all).
I’m so glad you feel better Gracie. Thankd to Dr. Elliot, your pawrents and the fabulous nurse Sascha.
Oh, poor you! It’s no fun being sick and it’s DEFINITELY no fun going to the vet emergency place. Mom says it’s almost as bad as going to a human ER. I’m sure glad you’re feeling better and that you have such great nursing help. What a Most Wonderful sisfur Sascha is!

I’m so glad to hear that you are a bit better. I had just asked your Dad how you were doing. The er place is crazy busy. Riley, my orange boy, went there a few weeks ago for two days. He had pancreatitis and felt better after his meds. I hope you continue to improve. So good that your sister was helping you.

Gracie, you’re such a sweetheart and I’m so glad you’re doing better and there were no blockages! You sure went through an ordeal last weekend and I know it must have been scarey for both you and your mom and dad. What an angel Sister Sascha was to take such great care of you and it sounds like you were a really good girl, which can’t be easy at a scarey emergency clinic. Dr. Elliott sounds like he was very good. Take care and never get sick again!
Gracie we are so glad you are feeling better! What a good nurse 🙂
Poor Gracie! Did you know that OUR Grayce had several UTIs and then the Vet removed three stones? True! So we know all about you not feeling tip-top. Thank goodness for observant pawrents and a nurse for a sister. PURRS!!!

So glad to hear Gracie is getting back to her old self – and a sister for a nurse is a biggie:)
Oh, (big sigh of relief) this is such good news!
Two of my girls have what’s called sterile cystitis, where there is no infection to be found via urinalysis but there are crystals and a little blood. It can come from stress among other things. To combat it, I feed mine wet food, plus kibble that I’ve soaked in a tupperware so that it’s almost wet food, and I give them Cosequin (a sprinkle capsule every morning in their food). It keeps everything under control. Don’t know if this will help you, Gracie…
Oh, I am so glad you are feeling better…I am sorry I missed that you weren’t well; have not been on to visit our blog pals for a bit. Keep feeling better!
