Oh my goodness, I had a bright idea. I know, I know, give me a minute and I’ll explain. Notice I said had a bright idea, as in the past tense, or to be more explicit, it is no longer a bright idea. I thought I’d look up the word Friday to see what it really means, but so I headed over to Wikipedia. Dear Friday, I had no idea you had so many definitions! I guess if I had to pick my favorite definition of Friday it would be this one:
“In modern Greek, four of the words for the weekdays derived from ordinals. However, the Greek word for Friday is Paraskevi (Παρασκευή) and is derived from a word meaning “to prepare” (παρασκευάζω). Like Saturday (Savvato, Σάββατο) and Sunday, (Kyriaki, Κυριακή), Friday is named for its liturgical significance, as the day of preparation before Sabbath, which was inherited by Greek Christian Orthodox culture from Jewish practices.”
I think that covers it, at least for us…TO PREPARE FOR THE WEEKEND, and we are more than up to the task.
So in preparing for the weekend, I needed a T.G.I.F. since that’s my Friday thing. Then I noticed that Sister Sascha was up on one of our stands and she was trying to figure out why the little stuffed doggy in the Christmas Hat was up there. Obviously she wasn’t getting an answer, but all she wanted to do was stare at him. I think it’s appropriate today to say my T.G.I.F. is The Girl Is Fixated!
Maybe the stuffed woofie in the Christmas Hat is trying to prepare her for the weekend. Or maybe the stuffed woofie in the Christmas Hat is trying to prepare her for the season to be jolly. After all, our new Christmas Tree arrived this week!
Have a wonderful Friday preparing for the Weekend and do stop by tomorrow for Sister Saturday with Kit. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
OMC! A Greek lesson!! I am prepared to give you A++++ for effort! MOL Happy Weekend xox

Ooh Christmas tree how exciting,xx Speedy
Wait – “4 of the words that mean weekdays”? I think that we should go back to those days and only have 4 weekdays… that sounds like a good idea to me 😉
Sascha looks like she wants to give that thing a whap! So… did she?
she looks like she is about to give him a piece of her mind (or a good slap)
Sister Sascha is probably wondering why you all even own a stuffed woofie, much less one already dressed for Christmas; although, that could be his Halloween costume. MOL. Have a great weekend. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
That is really interesting and very apt for the day before the weekend.
She does look fascinated with her Christmas dog.
Dip Bridge and Elliot
you never knew but I am OBSESSED with Greek culture! 🙂
Sister Sascha is really deep in thought I wonder if she just wants to be furiends and is unsure of how.
Good TGIF, Brian!
I think she’d meditating on what she wants for Christmas! Me-Ommmmmm
Happy T.G.I.F. That was very interesting. Sister Sascha you look beautiful as ever.
Sascha, you tell ’em that the Christmas dog should have been put away months ago but it’s too late now cos his season is almost how. If I see one tiny little thing that’s out of place, I’ll stare at it too.
Sascha sure is having a stare down there! We wonder who will win? 😉
Maybe that stuffed woofie is a hint for an early Christmas around your place. Sweet Sascha you are looking gorgeous as ever! You all have a super weekend. Hugs and nose kisses
Sascha may be trying to stare the stuffed woofie down as he is taking some of her space.
As if time isn’t flying by so fast already, the retail stores are setting up for Christmas already. That is just plain nuts. But if a decoration escapes, such as yours, well…that might be a sign of something…or not.
No clue about the little stuffed Christmas guy, but I sure hope that if your Christmas tree already arrived it is not a real tree because there won’t be much left to decorate in December…it will be one naked tree 😉
Your Christmas tree is there already? Perhaps Sister Sascha was telling Christmas Dog her Christmas list. 🙂
New tree yippee cannot wait to see 🙂 x
That is a pretty good TGIF if I say so as I prepare for…
