Dad Terry here: Here is an update on Gracie and the crew. I went early this morning to do all the paperwork and things to transfer Gracie to the Internal Medicine Specialist. Before the transfer I got to visit with Gracie. She has a way to go yet but she looked much better this morning. She was bright-eyed and recognized me right off. She is still in the oxygen cage but when I put my hand in through the portal she started head butting my hand, and it was some pretty powerful head butts too, so she is much stronger. She even wanted to crawl out through the little portal to see me. As luck would have it, her Emergency Vet was checking on her when I arrived and she is pleased with the progress Gracie is making. Gracie has been eating and the Emergency Vet told me that Gracie prefers to have her food warmed a bit in the microwave ,so Gracie’s communication skills are good.
I then met with the Internal Medicine Vet, who while I was waiting for what seemed to be forever was examining Gracie. She is also pleased with the progress. She covered the treatment plan for Gracie and she will take more xrays today to help determine the actual progress, but overall she was pleased too. The main thing is to try to not stress Gracie too much at this point so that her breathing isn’t impacted by what they are doing to treat her.
As too the others, Precious and Dolly are still sneezing, Sascha not so much. Brian seemed worse so his Mom took him to our regular Vet this morning to get xrays done on him to make sure all was okay with his lungs, and they were clear. Brian is still sneezing but had a hacking cough last night.
Thanks so much for all of the support, we appreciate you so much. Keep those purrs and prayers coming, we are guardedly hopeful that they are working.
