Hello everyone. Not much to report this evening. The specialist Vet called me around 6:00 this evening. Gracie was still about the same, alert and her breathing is pretty good. Her temperature is still holding at normal. The xrays still show pneumonia, so she has lots of healing to do yet. Gracie had blood work done and all functions are in the normal range. Her white blood cell count is slightly elevated which is typical of what they see with an infection. Gracie was nice enough to cough up some good phlegm for them so they are culturing it to identify anything unusual and give them a better insight as to what is going on inside her.
Gracie is alert when someone comes around to see her and she is still eating some. Tomorrow they are going to try her in a bigger cage without the oxygen for a while and see how she does.
Brian is still pretty snotty and so is Miss Precious. Brian, always the good pill taker, fought me tooth and claw when I tried to give him half a benedryl. Miss Precious, the don’t even think about pilling me girl, took her half of a benedryl just ine…go figure. Oh, they both like pill pockets until you stick a pill in one.
Thanks for keeping the purrs and prayers coming, we are overwhelmed by your kindness.
Dad Terry
How wonderful to hear that Gracie is alert. I hope she does really well without the oxygen tomorrow.
Hopefully, Brian and Precious and Sascha will all be a lot better tomorrow. I’m really hoping! It’s amazing how the pill ruins the pill pocket for kitties.
I’m still praying for all you guys. My heart goes out to you. I know it’s a lot right now. You’re such good and amazing parents for your kitties.
It’s good to hear that Gracie is holding her own. We hope that she, Brian, Precious, and Sacha will turn the corner and start to feel better so you can breathe a sigh of relief. Until then, we’re keeping you in our thoughts and purrs.
At our house you have to wrap the pill in a pill pocket and then wrap the pill pocket in the fanciest of the feasts. Except for Seville, of course, who takes his pills like a real trooper just to make the rest of us look bad. MOUSES! I’m glad to hear that Gracie is eating a bit and alert. Those are good signs, for sure. She’s obviously in super good paws with the specialist. And I know that the rest of the gang is in super good care with you. Your babies are all in good paws. Purrs are… Read more »

LOL Terry aren’t cats the living end?? Nylablue likes Pill Pockets til I put a pill in them too…so I have to take her to Vet & he shoves the pill down her throat. There really is an easier way…..apparently she likes to do things the hard way… I am relieved that Gracie is showing some improvement!! I hope Precious & Brian continue to improve also… Nylablue goes back to Vet tomorrow. The Herpes Virus is wreaking havoc with her. I am so weary; as I am sure she is too…I will check in tomorrow to see how the kitties… Read more »

Pills are always so hard to fight down. We are thinking of you lots and lots, even have the kiddos asking about you. Big hugs and prayers your way.
Thank goodness that Gracie is holding her own and seems to be the model patient. She is a tough lady and she is making sure to do everything in her power to help herself heal…. Poor Brian and the pill debacle… It is funny, I am not surprised that Precious was easy to give the pill to… Sometimes they surprise you.. the more they fight you under normal conditions they more they comply when they know that you are helping them… I will never forget how Alex just let me hand him over to the pretty girl in the specialist… Read more »
