Well, of course we are happy that Friday is here, but we’ve had another darn cold snap here in the South. The silly weather guessers are calling this Polar Vortex 2. Enough already, this is the South, it’s supposed to be warm! Seriously, I sure wish everyone everywhere would get unvortexed!
Even though it has been stupid cold, our ferals have been out and about. Dad has been doing his best to keep their water supply thawed out. Oh, they get fresh filtered water in their feeding station several times each day, but their favorite drinking station is still the bird bath. My T.G.I.F. for today is Tastes Good Insists Ferals!!!
This is our tabby feral enjoying a freshly thawed bird bath sip. The tabby has been spending lots of time in the heated house, but does come out frequently for food and water, We’ve often wondered where his sister, the tortie, goes to keep warm and dry, but we finally figured it out. The riding mower lives out back and is covered by a pretty heavy duty cover. Well, that cover has a rip in it, and the tortie has been jumping up on the riding mower and going down inside the belly of the mower. The sun hits it during the day so it must be fairly warm down in there. She always seemed to show up out of nowhere and never seemed overly cold or wet. Now we know why,
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Do stop by tomorrow for Sister Saturday with Sister Gracie. Sweet Sister Gracie had to go to a follow up with her Internal Medicine Vet on Wednesday, so she will likely tell you all about that fun trip.
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Is that the equivalent of a human’s flavored drinking water? Is it fev-ver flavored? We think that sounds delicious!
Those ferals are so smart! But I still feel bad that they have to USE their smarts to survive.
So pleased the ferals are surviving the cold with Daddy’s help. Hoping it warms up for you guys xxxooxxx

When it comes to water, cats believe everything tastes good 🙂
We too are glad the ferals are OK. We are praying you all get a break in the weather and an early Spring. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
We’re glad that your ferals have shelter from the cold, even if the tortie isn’t willing to use the handy heated shelter. We wish all ferals had such great caretakers.
the weather everywhere is so brutally cold… I feel so bad for all the ferals out there…
The feral cats have a way to stay warm and dry, or I should say as warm as they can stay. Our Person has to thaw out all the water bowls outside too. We are so ready for this cold to go away. Hope all of you stay warm.
OMC – That Tortie is one smart girl. What an unusual place to live, but I suspect it is nice and quiet and private. Good thing your humans found out so the don’t try to start the mower some day and find her in there.
That tortie feral is clever! Try to stay warm, all of you!
My favorite water is the one in the Aquarium with fishpoop and all *mol*
Nice that you found out where the Tortie is hiding 🙂
XOXO
We are sick of the cold weather here too – we had some sun yesterday afternoon for a little while but today is back to the very cold, dull weather. We get ants in our pants when we can’t get out!!! We’ll be thinking of Sister Gracie on Wednesday.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

I have been thinking of your ferals. God bless that they have you.
Boy oh boy shows you how very smart kitties are!!! Woohoo and even liking a bit of water with ice in it, just like the Southern kitties would! We know it’s a Vortex of some sort because we had wind chills in the teens in FL. I am not complaining because we know so many have it far worse, but our homes are not built for colder weather. We hope that all animals outside got to shelter in someplace. Happy Friday ya’ll! (we knew you would appreciate the southern drawl!)
Enjoy your weekend, sweeties!
Those ferals are smart, but they are very lucky to have you looking out for them!
Hey Brian and Sisters…
OMCs mom is having a time keeping our bird bath thawed too. Yesterday there were 3 doves sitting on the ice. Mom asked dad if he thought they were trying to thaw it with the tushy feathers. Dad just shook his head
Hugs madi your bfff
Those ferals are pretty smart when it comes to seeking and finding good shelter. Thank you for providing for them!
So cute!
Always go for the dirty water, guess it has flavor. Clever to stay warm in the mower too.
It sounds like your feral buddies have things figured out pretty well!
Purrs,

We hope you are doing fine
Wish you a very nice Year
We love you very much
Lots and lots of Purrs from
Pepi, Xixo, Juja and Jujuba
Wow, those ferals are so clever! We are ready for this vortex to get lost, too.
Oh Brian we wish that too! It is so cold outside and with our basement unfinished the house has a draft. We really feel it now! Mum keep us up high off the floor so our paws are always warm. Hope all of you are keeping warm and toasty too! Say hello for us!
Purrs,
Izzy & The Rest
Fancy names are not needed for the weather. Cold is cold and hot is hot. 😉
xo Catherine
We have a balmy 30 today, but are headed back to -20+ air temp Sunday night. Burry cold out there!
I am glad those ferals have some places to stay semi warm in the freezing cold, and that they have food and water. I still tear up thinking about them not ever knowing the love of a human, though. Every kitty should have that!
Glad the ferals are staying warm, dry, well fed and watered. We are sick to death of this cold stuff and being stuck in the house. We think we might get out to the catio tomorrow and Sunday as we are supposed to have temps in the upper 30s, then starting Monday it goes back to highs in the mid-20s. Yeesh…we are sick to death of this! Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
your Daddy is wonderful the way he takes such good care of those ferals!
((((hugs))))
I am glad the ferals are doing well in the very cold weather. Mum gives me filtered water indoors, but I prefer to drink outdoors water, and I have lots of rain puddles to choose from.
Yow yer Dad n Mum are so guud to da feralz!!!
We haz da Polar Vortex 2 here also n it iz fridgid n blizzerdin….so windy n cold….
Me iz glad to bee inside snug n warm butt me iz sad wunderin how da river kat feralz are doin…

Tommie likes water from all different places outdoors. He’s a real connoisseur.
He’s not going outdoors these days in frigid Connecticut. We peeps don’t want to either!
Hope you’re all staying warm.
We are glad that your Dad is looking out for the ferals! Love, Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)
It’s freezing here, Brian…not fit for man or beast! We worry about the feral kitties at the dad-guy’s store. We hope they stay safe and as warm as they can under the circumstances.
For a second, I wondered what you were doing outside. I’m glad it’s the feral. I’m not glad he’s out in the cold, but I’m glad you’re inside. TW has been worrying about the Park Cats cos it’s been too cold to walk over a mile each way to feed them.
Soooo, is it a bird bath or a feral cat water dish? The bird bath across the street is a deer water dish..
Kisses
Nellie
So glad to know the ferals seem to be surviving this cold snap. We have soft spot for ferals.
Brian, You are so sweet to those ferals. I’m glad that they are warm and have clean water to drink! TGIF!
We are glad your ferals are staying safe and warm, Brian! Bless you and your folks for looking out for them. Your picture of the tabby sipping from the birdbath made us mol 😀 Have a great weekend!
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
Wow the tabby sister is really smart to get in the mower cover!
Have a great weekend.
I guess we got attacked more by this 2nd vortex this time. There was no school here today as everything was frozen this morning. Sometimes Texans are silly in this weather and we just don’t know how to drive in it LOL
Purrs and prayers to your ferals in keeping safe during your cold spells…glad they have a couple of great places to be warm.
glad the ferals a dong well,xx Speedy
That is wonderful you are helping the ferals. Cats always seem to find the warmest spots.
