Thankful Thursday: You can teach an old chef new tricks

Brian's Home. Adopt cats, we deserve it!
Yes, I do look content, and yes, we do love our Fancy Feast, and yes, we all get bored sometimes.  Me, I tend to like the Fancy Feast Classic Chicken although I do like the Fancy Feast Turkey & Giblets too.  But every once in a while I just get a little bored. When I get bored I either don’t eat quite as much or I sometimes turn up my nose and walk away.  Okay, the walk away thing doesn’t happen all that often, but it does happen.

Well, not all that long ago we finally got to try some freeze dried chicken treats.  We’ve heard about the freeze dried stuff for a while, but we just never got to try them.  Now, the freeze dried chicken is my favorite treat, and since it only has one ingredient, chicken, Dad says it is pretty healthy for us.  Treat time happens hear right after our nightly playtime activities and I do look forward to that chicken stuff.

Bored.  I got bored again with the regular mealtime menu so our Chef Dad decided to show me something a little bit different.  Dad crumbled a small bit of the freeze dried chicken and mixed it in with my Fancy Feast Chicken entree.  At first I gave him a look and then I took a closer look.  I sniffed, I recognized, I tasted, I ate and I thanked the Chef.  That was just the little extra yum I needed and it was darn good.

So, today I am thankful for an old Chef learning new tricks and that he was able to think outside of the pouch.  Sometimes it’s the little things that yield great big smiles. Thanks Dad!

Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Brilliant idea Chef Dad had! I like it when my Mom “thinks outside the box/pouch/can” and gives me something just a bit different in the foodable department. Nice to have a creative chef in the house huh?

We’re impressed that your dad did this for you, Brian. You *do* have him trained well. Maybe we’d get more treats if we got bored with our food too!

well you know Brian, mommy spent all those green papers on some freeze dried chick-hen and I turned my velvet nose up at it. Refused to do more than sniff. Mom was so disappointed.

Brian, if you love the freeze-dried chicken treats, you should try some freeze-dried food mixed in with your Fancy Feast! I bet you would love it…and there are several flavors. I know that Primal makes a Turkey, a Chicken & Salmon and a Beef & Salmon for cats. Wonderful flavors, I think…and something to add some pizzazz to your current offerings.

Creative chef. No matter how creative ours gets we won’t eat it. Now a tray of raw chicken, that I try to steal

Annie

Annie won’t eat FF turkey or chicken, but she’s not like you, Brian. She sniffs, walks away and meows her displeasure until what she deems as proper food is put in its place. You have a good chef to put those yummy, healthy treats in your food. Love “think outside the pouch.”

You are lucky to have such a good chef Brian. Mine keeps serving me food that I no longer like. She bought me some new food yesterday and told me it is very expensive. It looks like human food! For goodness sake, surely she doesn’t expect me to eat that!!

Your chef is a lot more creative than our chef! Ours just opens the cans. We tried freeze dried treats, if you can call sniffing then walking away trying, but they didn’t appeal to us.

I wish I could teach my chef some new tricks. I bet Daddy does too. Usually when she tries something new it is awful. The humans are still complaining about the shrimp custard she tried out on them Friday. Thank Cat my food comes in a can and she doesn’t have a chance to destroy it. But it would be nice to have something new every once in awhile.
