Well let me tell you, strange is the word to describe last week. Maybe even two words, seriously strange. We had some things happen that we’re just not used to in the South.
It all started out like a normal week, Monday wasn’t too bad, actually it was pretty nice. Then we got a weather alert that was a Winter Storm Warning for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I saw on the TV thingy that all of the stores were sold out of bread, milk and toilet paper. Tuesday wasn’t that bad, but it was cold. The weather guessers missed it by a day and most of the storm arrived Wednesday morning.
Here’s what I was looking at out my front window as the snow was piling up. You can see our lake in the distance. We didn’t see many of the geese around but we did hear them honking. All in all we got about 7 inches of snow. I know that’s not a lot compared to what some of you had, but down here that’s a lot of snow.
Then, something else were not used to happened late in the day on Valentine’s Day.
Yep, we had an earthquake several miles to the south of us. We were all sitting in the living room watching the TV thingy and things started to shake. My Dad thought it was a jet coming in slow and low (we are fairly close to our airport) because that’s what it sounded like. But this one rattled the windows and the candles and glow globes on the fireplace mantle. We know some of our pals have had that kind of shaking before, but this was sure new for us!
So, after the strange week last week, now we’re supposed to have temps in the 60s and 70s F this week. Hey, that’s lots better than the snow shakes! Have a great week everyone. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Wow, glad you got through it all! And I hope you dont have any more weeks like that!
I heard about your earthquake from Truffle and Brulee’s human! While it wouldn’t have caused TOO much excitement here in California, it certainly is enough to freak out anykitty who isn’t used to it!
The weather is just crazy this year and we read about the earthquake. Glad you are all OK. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Oh my stars! Snow, cold and quakes!??! What’s going on!?
Aww lovely Brian – we hope the weather settles down soon!! Enjoy your Monday! Take care
x
Thanks GOD , you all are safe !
Paw crossed & keep purring.

((((( hug ))))))
An earthquake, how alarming! We hope this week will be warmer and calmer!
I heard on the news that you felt the earthquake. We didn’t feel it at all.Glad all of us made it through all of the stuff. We are just glad that snow is gone now. And this week is looking mighty good. Nice and warm. So all of you have a wonderful week. Take care too.
Wow, snow and earthquakes. That is not a fun combination. Are you sure it wasn’t the neighbors walking around though? lol
We think the weather has gone crazy everywhere although ours is not a silly as yours! Mum says she never put snowstorms and earthquakes as a twosome! We are just glad that you are all OK.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Snow, earthquakes and now temps in the 60s and 70s!? What is going on with this weather. Brian, you and those girls go and enjoy the warmth for us up here in feet of snow please 🙂
Oh my goodness! Mother Nature is all mixed up!
xo Catherine
good heavens….snow and earthquakes. that mother nature needs a pill!!
Snow storm then an earthquake? The weather sure has gone wonky!
Even an inch is too much for your southern doods! And then on top of everything else an earthquake! Mother Nature is in a very confused state this year!
We are sitting here waiting for a snow storm to dump an additional 4-8 inches on top of the 62 inches we’ve already had. 🙁
It really was a weird week last week. We heard there was a smaller earthquake yesterday but no one felt it around here.
7 inches that is crazy for your part of the world and a quake too? Seriously Mother Nature has got to start relaxing
I think that God is trying to tell us all something 🙂

Snow and earthquakes? That is an odd combination! Mother Nature must have had a bee in her bonnet last week. Hope this week is better, Brian!
Oz
That’s a fairly sizable quake! For all that we sit on a fault and the big one (9.0) is overdue (off the coast), we’ve never experienced an earthquake. And I’d just as soon not!! Hopefully all the snow is gone by now.
wow what a week Brian, looks like things are going to be less windy here,xx Speedy
It sure was a strange week! Especially earthquake. I remember feeling shaking but didn’t think it was earthquake as it is so rare. (I don’t know if it was in fact earthquake that I felt though as I don’t remember when it was. ) It seems this week will be much better (warmer!) Have a wonderful week!!
The whole world’s gone crazy! Earthquakes and snow in the south. What’s mother nature going to do to us next? *huddles under blankies*
Brian —we are ALL looking for warmer weather!!!! Thank God it is coming!!! YAY
OMC we’d heard about the snowstorm on the news but not the earthquake. That must have been scary and weird but glad everyone’s okay!

Yikes, snow is bad enough without any earthquakes!
We are glad you are all safe.

It has been a wacky and weird winter, that’s for sure. And we have 31 more days of it. Wonder what’s in store for you next after the warm weather arrives. Mau says to make sure, Brian, that you get outside before that snow melts and get your “Let It Snow” merit badge. The earthquake must have been scary. It is a weird winter for sure. Last week we had hailstones the size of golf balls and then a single thunderbolt that fried our land line phone. Mum thought that would be the end of the router as it shares the same phone jack, but when the power came back amazingly it was still working.
Brian you are 100% correct…we do not want a do over on last week
Hugs
Madi your bfff
YIKES! Earthshakes? We deal with snow OK, but not earth shaking.
That sounds scary to me. Hope this week is better. We are starting out with a snow storm today.
Brian, your cheeks just say “KISS ME!”
But otherwise, we had snow but no quake and it got up to 65 today. SNOW again yesterday and 65 today!!!
Wow, I hope you don’t have any more earthquakes (or snow)! I’m sure you aren’t accustomed to either of those things. I experienced many minor tremors during the times I was in Japan. Also, I was in the Philippines during the August 2, 1968 earthquake. Even though the epicenter was many miles away, it woke me (at 4:19 am).

WOW!! 7 inches is a lot of snow when you are not used to it.
Plus an earthquake to boot 😮 We have not had any earthquakes here.
We are glad your normal weather is coming back.
This nasty Winter has to end soon,at least we hope.
Mom says we still have some weather systems this week,’
but they are not too serious for us.
Sometimes living so close to the ocean has benefits 🙂
Nova Scotia is surrounded by a lot of water.
Still…we want Spring!

That’s just crazy! We’re getting snow right now…and we saw lightening!
We heard about the earthquake! You wouldn’t think it, but they can happen anywhere. We are glad it wasn’t too bad on your end and nothing was damaged. Maybe now the weather and ground will settle down.
A couple years ago the mom & Girl were shopping and a big earthquake struck. We thought the store had been hit by an 18 wheeler and it took a minute to realize what happened.
Stay safe you guy! Whoa, what excitement.
I’m glad you’re all okay! Isn’t it amazing how loud an earthquake is?
Shows how much I keep up with the news because I had no idea about this Earthquake.. WTC?! That is really weird… Glad you guys are OK!
That was a very strange week!
Glad you weren’t too close to the epicenter of the quake. Funny thing we had snow on the same days and a quake in our state last week too.
=^..^=
Stay safe guys!!
Wow we are all getting strange weather~! Soon the window whiffies will begin!
I think the weather-guy is always drunken to send us such bad things. I hope Miss Spring comes soon.
Snow is awesome, but you can keep the quakes. Mom experienced them back when she was flying a lot to Asia and said they are real scary.
Wow, we only heard about some in Oklahomer! We had one ourselfs in summer of 2011, so we know how weerd it feels bein shook around. Hope ya are all OK and there are no more of them!
Oh Brian that snow does look lovely…but it seems to be hanging around our friends like our summer..we get the shakes here and usually the girls let me know before I feel it…did you warn the folks..start acting funny? I am curious as some animals do..Cleo and Dinnermintz do and Forrest does…they are my alerts 🙂 Hugs and stay warm Fozziemum xxx
Snow AND earthquakes? My goodness that is not what we expect when we read your posts! Glad everyone stayed calm and safe. You are all so brave. Hope you do not have flooding with the snow melt.
Wow – the USA is getting some wild weather and YOU are getting some odd stuff. Are you OK after the quake. Those things care us a lot.
