I must say, Monday is not really my favorite day. Actually, I’m already missing the weekend because we really had a fun one. Oh, it really wasn’t anything specific, it was just a nice weekend overall. The sun was bright, the sunpuddles were glorious, and the Easy was plentiful! But, there is another weekend on the way already so we’ll just be looking forward to the arrival.
There was one strange thing that happened last week. It was still O-Dark-Thirty in the morning and it was about to thunder boomer. So, Dad thought he would go out and give the feral kitties their breakfast. When Dad got around to the back deck where the feeding station is located he startled an introoder, a great big raccoon was having a few bites of cat food. Luckily it took off down the deck, jumped up on the railing and went down the other side. It did spook our Dad a little bit too, but he fed the ferals and came right back in the house. Dad said he is going to make sure the coast is clear before he pops around like that again. Okay, but that confused me, we don’t live anywhere near the coast.
Oh, and I did get a very nice award yesterday from my friend Marty the Manx and the ever so wonderful Nylablue.
Marty has a fun blog and if you don’t know Marty, please do stop by with a howdy. Thanks so much Marty! Also, if you don’t know Nylablue, you are totally missing out on a real sweetheart of a kitty, so go by and give her a smoochie. Thanks Marty and Nylablue, we really appreciate you sharing your sunshine with us.
So, that’s a wrap for this Monday. Don’t forget, tomorrow is the Opt to Adopt Blog Hop, so please join us and share a critter looking for a forever home. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
We need more weekends with more sunpuddles! Hope the upcoming one is as good, or better! Congratulations on your award!
Looks like you guys had a great weekend, we had some sun puddles too 🙂 ConCATS on the lovely award xxoxxxx
Mollie and Alfie
Concatulations on your award, Brian! Those raccoons can be nasty sometimes – I hope this one isn’t mean to your ferals.
We agree we need more weekend and less Mondays. Concatulations on your award. Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
Congratulations on your award, Brian. You know what? Mommy kinda wishes there were racoons over here…
We are not as bothered about Mondays as many as our #1 works from home so when she is here, she is here!
We got some sunpuddles too and we do love those!
Purrs,
The Chans
A racoon? I never saw such a thingy :o) I hope this monday is a great start into a fabulous week :o)
Them raccoons sure know how to take advantage of a free meal!
Oh I love racoons….they look so cute..like little bandits!! but then we don’t get them here…we have some good stuff but not racoons…and we love sunpuddling weekends too Brian. Cincats on your awards and indeed sweet Nylablue and the most handsome Marty are great 🙂 Hugs Fozziemum xxx
Wow raccoon! I got spooked by raccoon once before. It popped up on our deck!
We are looking forward to next weekend, too 🙂
have a great week brian!!!
Oh no, not a raccoon. That must have been scary. We have our very own possum that comes up on the porch and eats the cat food. As long as neither one of us gets a skunk. Hope all of you have a great day. Take care.
Mondays are always tough. Try and hang in there. Congrats on your awardie!
Concats on the award, Brian!
Tell your dad to be careful, some of those raccoons can be really nasty, or so we’ve heard.
Thanks much for stopping by…We still have our URIs, but are starting to feel better, paws crossed that continues. Surely our furs are even more luxurious now, what with all the steam “baths” our human has made us take. 😛
Maybe the raccoon would like his dinner on a coaster
Huge concats with your award!! Glad you had a great weekend. So lucky your dad saw raccoons!! amazing! take care
x
Concats on your award Brian – would love to have seen your Dad’s surprise at seeing the raccoon near the feeding station.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Sorry your Dad had that scare! As they say, “Look before you leap.” 🙂 “Zero-dark thirty” is a phrase I used to hear in my Navy days.
ConCats Brian! Have a nice Monday!!!!
Morning Brian….a great big raccoon spooking your dad!! When I bet there were some beady eyes too.
Hugs madi your bfff

Yikes! Your dad better be careful of disturbing the raccoon, Brian. I am glad the critter ran away and did bother dad.
Happy Monday,
Oz
it was kinda nice here over the weekend too….and now we are back to FREEZING
Concats on your award! That’s the risk you have to take when you leave food outside. They tell us we shouldn’t feed the colony in our garage because of raccoons and possums. TW used to have both at the old house since she left food out for the gang.
Oh those raccoons startle me too sometimes… Shiner kept barking at something one night in the dumpster, so I went to see what it was. I was scared to look but it was just a raccoon…
Congrats and we’ll check out those blogs. Raccoons and ferals usually give each other a wide berth.
Glad that raccoon took a hike when your Dad came out! Concats on the award!
Congratulations on your award.
Sheba.
You look so cool today. lol
Also, congrats on your awards.
I’ll go look at those blogs.
XO,
JC and The Purr and Fur Gang
Glad you had a good weekend. Congrats on the award x
Congrats on your award. The raccoon would of started me too. Have a great week.
Brian, you had us flummoxed for a minute ’cause we had no idea what being close to the coast had to do with raccoons, but now that we have sorted that out…we cannot leave cat food outside here at night (even on the catio) ’cause the raccoons come and eat it. They have a very sneaky way of getting onto the catio. I guess with the ferals you don’t have a choice. Hope Dad Terry doesn’t get scared again. Those raccoons can be very mean. Great award and well deserved as you always bring some sunshine to our day. PURRS… Read more »
I live on the coast, Brian. It’s hardly ever clear!! Have a great week! Keep away from raccoons! 🙂
Congratulations on the award, sweeties!…We are glad you guys had such a great weekend…Happy Monday, dear friends…xoxo…Calle, Halle, Sukki, Mommy Cat, Daddy Cat
It WAS a good weekend here too,Brian. And we might get some snow next weekend, so that would make for a really great weekend for us:)
No raccoons around here that we have seen, BUT there was a real live coyote just outside our fence on Sunday morning. That really freaked Mom out.
Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
wow that did sound like the BEST weekend, and maybe the one coming up will be the same! Yeah!!! concats on the wonderful award!
That’s a beautiful and well-deserved award, Brian. ConCATS!
That raccoon sounds like it was big and kinda scary … glad your Dad got back inside before anything too crazy happened.
Marty and Nylablue are really cool, aren’t they?
A Sunshine award fer a ‘sunshiney kittehboy’ 😉
Izn’t Monday sneeky?? It alwayz showz up when ya leest xpect it…..
Lub Nylablue n Mum too xoxo
Glad you got some good sun puddles Brian, and concats on your award.
We’ve never seen a raccoon. Are they dangerous???
We love those kinds of weekends too 🙂
The raccoon is back around here too.
Guess mating season is about.
Mom is not too happy as she puts out seeds early before she goes to work
and does not want the raccoon to eat it all.
Plus, she has seen a black kitty around and is putting out food for him.
Lots of wildlife outside!

Concatulations on your award, Brian!
Oh Brian!
Happy! Happy! joy! Joy!
Not only a wonderful Man Cat Monday, but a award too and so much better…its SUNNY!!
Kisses
Nellie
hey Brian, so nice to see you looking so good…and concats on that pawsomely lovely award
Brian you deserve the award for all the good you guys do for the kitties in need and your fun blog! Thanks for the nice words.
Marty
First of all… CONGRATULATIONS on your award! It’s a beauty, for sure.
Secondly… did you say you had thunder? REALLY? I wonder if that was the same thunder I heard here ’cause on Friday night, I heard thunder and saw lightenin’. It was super bright ’cause the lightening was reflecting off all the snow. Very weird weather. I have my suspicions that Rushton has been experimenting with some malformed whisks and screwin’ with the space-time continuum again but, as of yet, I have no actual proof. MOUSES!
Purrs,
Nissy
A great weekend for you and an exciting feeding adventure for your dad. Unfortunately, the raccoons around here aren’t startled at people. We have to be very careful to pick up our stray’s food so it doesn’t attract the brave stripey tails.
Nice to meet you well Brain~!!
Congratulations on your award~
We had a sunny weekend too, Brian, which makes the cold easier to handle. Congrats on your award.
Woah!!! You guys watch out for your daddy – keep an eye out for those racoons!
Glad you had a nice weekend in the sun and what an appropriate award, congrats!
Dip and Elliot x
That seeing a raccoon made us think of that commercial where the woman has bad eyes and lets the raccoon in the house thinking it is her cat!
Congrats on the really cheerful awardie!
We don´t have Raccoons in Sweden , but we have Badgers and Wildboars just around our corner.
ConCATulations to the award !
Well warn your Daddy that it is pouring down Rain on the Gulf Coast today. We even have a flash flood advisory out.
We had raccoons on our deck here all the time. But when we lost our last feral cat and weren’t serving food anymore, they moved on.
Glad Spring is making an appearance there!
Sounds like a good week-end (apart from the scare for Dad!!)
Brian, it’s so good to see you well.
