Thankful Thursday: We Have Two Happies and One Sad Today

Well, I know we shouldn’t have a sad on Thankful Thursday, but we do.  Most of you likely remember me sharing pictures of our two resident feral kitties, one girl tortie and a boy tabby.  Sadly, our sweet tortie girl has been missing since March 19th when Dad saw her heading into the woods.  We slowly realized that we weren’t going to see her again, and that makes us very sad.  Her poor brother is heartbroken and just sits and stares at the woods.  We will love her always.

But today, we are so very thankful that our tabby boy is still here with us.  He is very feral but doesn’t run when Dad takes out his food.

Tabby Boy

We are doing the best we can for him and we always will, as long as he remains with us. He does use the feral house to keep warm and dry and he sleeps in it at night.

Now for another happy, which kind of came out of the blue.  Put on your thinking cap. Do you remember this picture?

Tiny Tim
This is Tiny Tim, and we original blogged about needing a Christmas Miracle for him HERE.  I knew that Tiny Tim was going to be adopted, but that was during the time when 5 of us were so sick and Sister Gracie was in the hospital.  We kind of lost track of what happened to Tiny Tim.

Well, this is what happened…

I had a message on our Facebook page that read “Hi I’m Chewie. I was Tiny Tim on your blog in Nov. You help me find forever home! I so grateful.  Now u can see me and my friends on fb!”

It is so wonderful to be able to keep up with the kitties we’ve helped and we just love seeing them with their happy on.  If you’re on Facebook, please go like their Page and give Chewy a howdy.  You can find Chewie and his family here: Catnipocalypse.

So, at least two happies out ranks a sad.  If you have something you are thankful for, please join us for the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

That is so exciting about Tiny Tim or Chewie. We are so glad that he found a nice home.
Now, do not give up just yet on your Tortie Feral Girl. We had a cat go off from here and 3 months later, she came back. I think sometimes they get shut up by mistake. Also these cats cat survive on the wild life. I know what it is like though to have one leave. We lost one not too long ago.
    Take care.

We has our paws crossed the girl tortie is OK and has just found a new home. We knows how sad it is when they just disappear and you really never know what happened.

Love your happy news about Tiny Tim, we are going to see him on FB. He looked very happy under the tree.

  3. Hannah and Lucy

We are so happy for Tiny Tim getting his forever home. Maybe the little girl was found by someone else and has a lovely home with them.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

Brian, we’re so sorry about your feral girl, but bless you all for caring for them and loving them.

And oh, the news about Tiny Tim/Chewie makes up for the sad! We do remember that picture — he looks fantastic in that second photo, and no doubt is doing even better now!

We agree that those happys are really great. Your Tabby boy has a very nice coat. Handsome. Dad has been looking for one of our outsiders for over a month also. Our Tabby lady still comes for chow but the little black visitor has been missing since last year. Dad turned the outside camera off last week and was sad.
So it goes in the wild
We are so lucky to have our homes my furend

I am heartbroken about the Tortie girl. That is just making me too sad. Her brother is so handsome. Glad he eats and stays in the feral house. Thanks for introducing us to Chewie, we went and liked his page and told them you sent us.

Don’t give up on tortie girl just yet! One of the feral girls Mom use to feed at work was missing for six weeks and one day she just reappeared at the food bowl like she’d been there the day before.

    Wonderful news about Chewie!

  9. Angel Abby Grace

We went right over and “liked” Chewie’s page! We are so happy for him. Oh dear Brian we are so sorry for the loss of the little female feral. Her brother is very handsome. We wish they could all be saved.

Two positives surely cancel the negative. We hope the male feral will stay close by and safe. Yay for Chewie having a new furever home. We love that name…we hope he always has a ton of food to chew too
    Hugs Madi your bfff

I am everlastingly grateful for Tiny Tim, aka Chewie, getting his forever loving home. I am deeply saddened by the beautiful Tortie girl walking away and leaving her brother to grieve.

  12. Cats of Wildcat Woods

Great news about Tiny Tim. We lost a few ferals when they lived outside. Sorry to hear about your tortie! We will pass the info about your dogs to brother Wolf and see what happens.

  13. Cattywumpus

So wonderful to see Chewy’s FB page! That’s sad about the feral girl disappearing. I remember when my parents’ beloved tabby just disappeared one day. Whenever I visited them after that, I was always scanning the woods and fields, hoping he would emerge.

  14. Kitties Blue

So, so happy for Tiny Tim (Chewie). His new name is adorable. And what a fun name for the FB page: catnipocalypse. We are so sorry about your tortie, feral girl. Her brofur is a really handsome man cat. Hope he stays around and stays safe. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  15. Flynn

That is very sad about the tortie girl. I hope she may still turn up again one day. The tabby is very handsome.
That is very good news to hear how well Tiny Tim/Chewie is doing.

  16. Cathy Keisha

That is so cool about Tiny Tim, er Chewy! I’m sorry about your feral girl. None of the Park Cats were there today. TW worries that they’ll get chased or worse now that the weather is nice and the kids will take over the park.

  17. Layla Morgan Wilde (Cat Wisdom 101)

It’s always sad seeing ferals fight so hard to survive at many odds. I’ve seen so many over the years come and go. It’s a helpless feeling but we can only do so muchand then let go. Tabby feral is gorgeous and looks healthy. The news of Tiny Tim gives us all hope about our humanity.

  18. Mags Corner

We are so sorry to hear about your sweet Tortie Girl. We are happy that Tabby Boy is still around and doing well, he looks fantastic. What super wonderful news about Chewie he looks amazing! Hugs and nose kisses

  20. siku marie

We are glad that someone in the world was there to notice and miss that little feral girl. Thank you for giving her brother an anchor and some semblance of a “home.”

  21. Emma

Your happys are super happy, so that is great. We feel the pain for the missing kitty as we all still wonder where our kitty Tom went the night he never came home. Not knowing is rough.

  22. Diane@BibliophilebytheSea

So sorry your tortie feral has disappeared, we do feel sorry for her brother, but so happy he has nice people like you to help him through this. About 6 years ago we lost one of our cats to the woods and the others no longer wanted to go outside. Happy to have all indoor cats now.

Can’t wait for Precious’s big day tomorrow.

  25. PepiSmartDog

Hi Brian, really sorry about your feral kitteh-sib going back into the woods. I’ve known cats who’ve been gone a long time and then come back again. Please know you can always post sad things on our blog hop. If it’s important to you, then its important to us.
I gasped when I saw the injured kittehs transformation. BRILLIANT! It doesn’t get any better than that.
