Are you prepared for an emergency? We like to thing that we are, but you never know until you need to do it. We had the first alerts for severe weather and potential tornados all throughout the South this week. Those things are always scary and we really worry about our friends when the scary stuff heads their way too.
We had our weather radios on, our weather apps on our smartphones active, our carriers ready in case we need to be protected in a hurry, and the dust bunnies on high alert in the Command Center. Fortunately, all is okay in our little neck of the woods, and that’s the way I like it. We know some of our pals were in the path of the storms and we hope to hear that all of you are okay too. Even our dust bunnies were breathing a sigh of relief.
So today, we are very thankful that the storms have come and gone, but we will remain ever vigilant and keep our eyes on the sky. Our Command Center that we set up under the bed is now closed. Do y’all have emergency prep plans too???
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
It must be very, very frightening to deal with that kind of severe weather. We are glad that things have now calmed down.
Purrs,
The Chans
I am SO glad those storms have passed! They were nasty.
We are so glad everything is OK and the storms have passed. Let us hope that it is all over now. Have a tremendous Thursday.
Best wishes Molly
We’re glad that you are safe and the storms are gone, Brian. How frightening for so many people and kitties!
WE are so very thankful that the storms missed us but sorry they hit some other places really hard.
So glad to see that the fund raiser is going so well for Scuttles. Sure hope she is doing all right.
Take care and have a great day.
I’m glad that all is ok at Casa Brian and you are safe and sound. oh and the the dust bunnies too, of course :o) Have a good thursday!
WE had our command center too. Under the house in the crawl space. My PTU was at hand and mom has her weather radio and her smart phone with weather apps too. xoxoxo
Lucy hides under the bed in alex’s recovery room when she needs to feel safe – double comfort..
So glad you are all safe Brian…we have an extensive emergency plan but for bushfires..it is started well before fire season..flood is not an issue for us as we live high on a hill..it would just mean we were stuck here with all the animals..and thye have all the food they need so really it would be fine..so sad for the loss of life both human and animal in the tornadoes…so very sad…hugs to you and stay safe Fozziemum xxx
Glad storm has passed without any damage! I hope now you can all relax – dust bunnies, too 🙂

Being that our mom is a tornado survivor, you can bet she has a plan! She’s pretty much a wreck all through tornado season for those in the paths of those evil tornadoes. Fortunately Chicago doesn’t get storms like the south does. Stay safe friends!
Glad the Command Center is shut down. Dad has a good plan fur us. We are lucky that our area does not have the bad wind thingies but, you never know!
Purrs
PS
So glad to see Scuttles is having donations come in
Timmy
Mom grabs me and shoves me in my PTU and grabs Dakota and goes to the basement of our condo/apt bldg. Dad never takes the warnings seriously so we leave him upstairs…Mom tells him if the roof blows up he will have to deal with it. MOL.
Pat just has to grab us and throw us in the cage and away we go, but he has to catch us first lol all we get is hurricanes and snow, so we are pretty safe.
Glad everything is quiet now. We think of you when we hear the scary weather reports. xxoo
We alwasy feel bad for the animals who have to go through vishus weather. Of course, our mom doesn’t have a full plan! But of course she should, but part of the reason is depending on the emergency it might need to be altered. The hardest part would be catching us.
We are glad that you didn’t have any really bad weather, and we feel sad for those who suffered because of the storms.
We are so glad to hear you are all Safe,xx Speedy
We are so grateful that the storms passed you by. Our friends in Alabama weren’t so fortunate. Truly is a Thankful Thursday Brian!
We’re really glad you’re okay, Brian.
We have a cart in our garage filled with necessities for a few days (which the human has to go through and check/update), but without a vehicle and without family in the region, if we had to evacuate we’d be up a creek with no paddle, as the expression goes.
It is almost time for us to start our hurricane season preparations, Brian. We will need to organize the Command Center as I am sure it is in disarray since we left it last year. Everybody should have a Command Center…the weather has been so crazy! You just never know what is going to hit where anymore.

Glad you all are okay. I’m sure you kitties don’t mind being under the bed too much. Seems like cats like it under there.
Glad those storms passed you by and you all are safe. Our thoughts are with those who have been affected by them.
Glad that you guys were able to stay safe.
Brian I 100% agree. The mast few days have been rather scary w weather and to top that off the mom is not a fan of thunder and lightning
Hugs
Madi your bfff
I hope you don’t have to worry about more storms fo quite some time. UTB is always the way to go. We had about 5 inches of rain yesterday. Stay safe and look out for my furrend, Gracie.
We sure are glad that things are OK in your neck of the woods for now. It’s been some wild weather all over. Still purring for Scuttles.
We are glad you are all OK! We have a ‘mergency spot unner the stairs. It is surrounded by the stairs, heavy plywood panels, and a cinder block wall with the concrete stair outside of that.
Oh yes, especially since we live in that Tornado Alley. Mom always has our leashes ready to put on so she can get us all in the basement. We have a nice big closet down there where we can all fit. It surely is a very scary time of the year for so many, and sadly so many have suffered. We hope the rest of this troublesome season is better.
Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Pee Ess, we don’t think the Under the Bed Command Center would work for us:)
We are very thankful you all are safe. We are all safe here too, the tornado touched down a few miles from us. We are hoping the weather settles and is nice for everyone now. Hugs and nose kisses
Glad your storms are gone. We had some but; not to bad and rain all week. We try to be prepared.
Glad it is all clear now Vrian!
We had our annual siren test last week. Once in the morning then again in the evening. Loud!
Scary weather stuff is just that….scary! I’m so glad your nasty weather has passed by without any harm. We are in an earthquake zone and the BIG one is supposed to hit sometime. We have done what we can, but….

We’re glad to hear you’re safe and sound and didn’t need to implement your emergency plans. And by the way, that’s an absolutely magnificent photo!
It is good to always be prepared, especially if you have to leave with a moment’s notice.
Dip and Elliot x
Glad to hear that the storm didn´t come your way !
Hope that the one who did get in the middle of it is OK !!

Yes, Mr. Brian, we have emergency plans and necessary supplies stored away. But, just in case we keep our Under the Bed Command Center available incase we need to reactivate it. We also have a secondary location behind the toilet.
Hugs you guys!
Tornados are indeed scary! We get them here in Saskatchewan too. Tis the season.
Staff safe kitties!
