Hello everyone, I sure have been having a bad fur day, or days might be more appropriate. You probably can’t tell from my photo but I’ve got about half the floof I use to have. Yes, I’ve been pulling it out, but I just couldn’t help it. I’ve got bald patches on my legs, on my side and on my tummy. Things do seem better now as far as the fur pulling goes. The Dad upped my dose of prednisone and I am getting a wee bit of Prozac. It took Dad a few days to get my dose adjusted so basically I am getting about 1/8 of a pill daily. WeeeeeeOooooo, when I was on ¼ of a pill I was really spaced out, but Dad and Mom seem to think I am much better on this smaller dose. Oh, and most of my food that had chicken has disappeared. So, that is quite a few changes and since I do seem some better it is really hard to tell which one might have done the trick.
Of course being a little better IS NOT getting me out of going to the Dermatologist on Wednesday, but hey, it didn’t hurt to ask. We have had some good suggestions from all of you so we will discuss those with the Dermatologist. I will try my best to remind Brian to give you an update. Sometimes Brian chooses to ignore me, but that’s usually when I smack him on the butt.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, I’m off to have another snoozy compliments of my meds! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
I hope the docs have some answers for you, Zoe! Hair pulling is not a fun kitty activity. My human’s dad’s cat, Smokey did that a few years ago, when my human’s mother was dying of lung cancer. Smokey was very stressed out. After my human’s mother died, she eventually returned to her old floofy self.
I hope for good news on wednesday, Zoe. I’m sure there is a way to help you. Have a good weekend with all your fur siblings and your pawrents.
Were so sorry about the bad fur situation, Zoe! That must be so frustrating! We are crossing all our toes that the dermatologist can find a permanent solution.
Purrs,
The Chans
Zoe you still look beautiful even a few floofs short..that is a lot of changes but all to help get to the bottom of your trouble….Forrest is on Doggie Prozac a very small dose due to some problems he has..took awhile but the dose is perfect and he is an active happy pooch ..us peeps do try and help and sometimes it takes extra..like a trip to the Dermatologist..it may be something very simple..and we hope it is so sending our loves and hugs Fozziemum xxxx
Zoe, we are glad to hear that there is a little bit of an improvement. Sounds like the medicine is beginning to work which is good. Hopefully the appointment on Wednesday will go well. We will have all our paws crossed for you. Take care.
That is so sad you are pulling your fur out. You have such a pretty coat. I hope the dermatologist can help you get some answers.
We hope the dermatologist will be able to find out why (or what) is making you pull your pretty furs out Zoe. We hope you will soon be back to your full floofiness.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
We too, hope that Dr. can help you, Sister Zoe. Sounds like Mom and Dad are figuring out your dosage on their own. They are good pawrents!
You’ll be back to your own floofy self soon.
Sending purrs and smoochies from all of us.
Happy Caturday!
Oh, Zoe, we hope your beautiful furs start to grow back once again.
Zoe, you look quite fetching in this photo. No one would ever guess that you have spots with missing floof. We are so happy that your humans are getting your meds worked out for you. Maybe now that you are on prozac, you won’t be smacking Brian on his butt. Good luck Wednesday. We’ll keep you in our purrs and prayers. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
Poor sweet Zoe…I hope they can get this problem solved!
I really like that photo of you!
Oh No! I hope you get the fur thing figured out Zoe! Your picture is really pretty even though you have the fur thing going on! I hope you and your family had a great 4th of July and you all didn’t spend all of it under the bed! Have a great weekend!
Hopefully they will find a way to make the baldness go away to stay
Oh Zoe, what is stressing you sweet girl? I barber myself but so far I am not pulling clumps of fur. I know if you had allergic dermatitis the dermatologist would know that by now..so I don’t know how to help. But I hope you tell us all soon what seems to be causing it.
tell Brian his remark to Princeton about the Buds…it just rocked mom!
Zoe sweetie I hope and purr you figure out why you are plucking your gorgeous furs
Hugs madi your bfff
Zoe, we hope they can find a solution for your hair pulling!
Poor Zoey. Hair pulling is no fun at all. We have our paws crossed that you all can figure it out very soon.
We are so glad to hear that you are doing a little better!
You are in our thoughts and prayers and we say you will be even better very soon…
Noodle and crew
Zoe we are glad you are better, but it’s best to check and make sure with the DR and see if there is anything else that would be helpful to you. We will ask about you later in the week to see how things went (to remind Brian if need be!) (hugs)
We’re glad you’re doing better, Zoe, but hopefully the Dermatologist can help get you feeling great again! We’ll be purring that you’ll get useful answers there.
Glad you’re a little better, we hope the doctor can make you lots better!
Purrs and paws crossed for you, Zoe. We hope there’s a definitive diagnosis (i.e. specific allergy) that can be dealt with fairly easily.

We hope you feel better and your fur grows back soon, Zoe. Our Teddi had to go to the vet yesterday and get an allergy shot, because she was pulling her fur out too.
Hello Sweet Zoe. We’re sorry you are now half fur full but we’re glad something is helping stop you from pulling more of your fur out. We hope the Dermatologist will be able to figure out what exactly is causing the problem and come out with a treatment plan.
Zoe you poor baby, I am sure the Dermatologist will be able to help you. Hoping all goes well and we are certain that Brian will give us the update we are eagerly anticipating! xoxo
Zoe, we hope you feel better soon and stop pulling your beautiful hair out.
That is quite a cocktail, we are almost envious of your spaceyness, hehe.
Dip and Elliot x
Sending prayers and good wishes for you getting all well sweet Zoe and that your beautiful floof grows back quickly. We are glad that your mom and dad are beginning to see some improvement. Hoping all goes well at the dermatologist and you come back with some answers to help you get all better. Hugs and nose kisses
It sounds like you’re doing all you can. It can be hit or miss getting the correct diagnosis but hopefully you’ll find the root cause soon. Anything you can do to reduce stress is bonus.
Zoe, we purr the Vet is able to help you so
all your lovely floof can come back and you
feel happy 🙂
Purrs Georgia and Julie,
Treasure, JJ
I hope the dermatologist has some answers to stop you pulling your fur out Zoe.
Oh Zoe, so glad to hear you’re doing a bit better. In these sorts of things, a “wee bit” is a big deal! Mighty good to hear!! sorry about the dermatologist, but hopefully they’ll be able to help you on this troubling situation. Of course, if they cure you, there won’t be any more “special naps” BOL
Take care, xx
We can’t see your bald spots but we can imagine them, as Buddy is doing the same thing again. Glad you are doing better.
Awww, Zoe… we’re sorry about your furs. I kind of keep this secret, but did you know that I had a similar problem? When Waffles came to live here, I started over grooming. The inside of my back legs were BALD! Fortunately, Glogirly started using Stress Stopper on me and it went away on it’s own. But we were super close to using the same drugs you’re using. Our vet said that kitties respond very well to those drugs. So we hope they continue to work their magic with you. xoxo Katie Happy 4th of July too! Enjoy your long… Read more »
Hi Zoe. We’re glad the meds are working for you. And even though you don’t wanna go to the dermatologist, it probably is a good idea you do. He might have some ideas to help you keep your furs on.
Purrs to you lovely, Zoe, we hope they can give you some answers this coming week.
I’m glad you’re doing a bit better, Zoe! Sorry about the dermo-vet… but maybe they will help you even more! A beauty like you shouldn’t be pulling out your fur. But, we understand…
We’re purring everything goes well at the Dermotologist this week.
Hope it goes well sweetie,xx Speedy
Hope you get completely recovered soon, Zoe!
Sounds like what you are doing is working. Hope they can give some more answers.
luvluvluv you Zoe…be well…get better…paw hugs
Zoe, maybe your Dad should just shave the rest of your furs and maybe they won’t itch when they grow back. Has the humans used any new detergents to wash your beds or litter box or even your dishes? Hope you can get answers and relief soon.
Glad to hear you are getting better, Zoe! Hopefully the dermatologist will be able to help you get even more better! Sending purrs and love your way!
Hope you’re feeling better soon, keep us informed!!
Poor kitty!! Banjo and I send you our best thoughts and warm hugs that you get better!
xo Catherine
Glad the meds are working my dear!
