Okay friends, Brian was calling me antsy and I was going to whap him a good one, but then I thought about it for a minute. Now I’m not saying Brian is correct, I sure wouldn’t want to do that, but purrhaps he is on to a little something without even know it.
I am a little bit antsy. Do you know what that really means? It means that it is ant season and some of those little bitty ants have found their way into the house. I’m the antsy one, I can hear them coming into a room before they even know they are doing it. Those little boogers are noisy and they make that marching/stomping sound with their little feet. They sound like a bunch of Clydesdales marching down the road to me. I can smell them too, and they have such a distinct odor, sort of like dirty metal or something. They usually send a scout out to make sure all is safe, but I always hear him, no matter how quiet he tries to be. I will go running across the room to greet him, then I eat him. Nothing better than a nice meet n’greet n’eat! Actually, we’ve only seen a few ants here and there, but rest assured, I’m on guard, and yes Brian, I am a wee bit antsy, but someone has to do it.
What about you? Can you see those teeny little bugs way before your peeps do?
Have a fun Saturday everyone and get plenty of Easy in tomorrow. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Wow you must have some great hearing! MOL! We usually get ants in the house during the summer, but this year has been great and mostly ant free. I catch a few here and there sometimes.
Wow! Mommy wishes you could teach us how to Greet N Eat the ants that make their way into the house. We usually just Greet and walk off. And Mommy has to do the job of eating, uh, no, wiping the ants away.
Hi there Dolly, what a good girl you are to catch those ants. Our bug lady is Two Two. She is good at catching most anything and then eats it right up. But glad you are right there on the job Sister Dolly. You all have a great day.
Eeek! Hate ants in the house! Luckily there is only the odd one. Banjo is a very good mosquito, moth and fly catcher. 🙂
xo Catherine
MOL…pretty wicked menu, Sis Dolly !
If bring you join, I guess all good and me kudos to your super hearing !.. Really COOL !
Have a great weekend
xoxo
All this talk of ants is making our Mum itch Sister Dolly!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
You must have the best hearing and smell of the family, your skills would be highly valued here we HATES ants, but we has these awful things called FIRE ANTS.
Dolly, Scylla has a special project for The Ladies of Autumn, we are very sure it is one you will be behind 100%, she posted about it last night.
you eat ants? really? I never had one… although a gazillion lives in our old mail box.
Have a super caturday!
Dolly you are the master hunter! Mom says we wouldn’t notice a bug until it bit us MOL! I say we are not that bad, but pretty close 🙂
Marty
I bet you would have a lot more ants in the house if you weren’t on the job hunting them down, Dolly. We had no idea they were so loud!
This has been one of the most antsy years ever. We could use you here Dolly as they are driving Mom and Dad crazy. If we drop one little piece of food on the floor, they are on it before Mom can pick it up. She only uses natural, non-toxic to humans and animals bug spray. What that means is you have to drown the dumb things. There is no residual effect once it dries. We ignore the darn things…not enough meat to bother with them. May we say, Dolly, that you are absolutely stunning in this photo. We could… Read more »
Good job being so vigilant on that ant watch, Dolly! We don’t like them coming in our house, either!
Great job you are doing on ant patrol, Sister Dolly! We rarely seen an ant because we live on the second floor.
Hahahahaha!!!! We love your meet n’greet n’eat!
We have those ants too but we don’t eat them.
We let Mom get them 😉
Purrs Georgia and Julie,
Treasure and JJ
Oh my catness Dolly! You sound just like our Jazmine – she can hear an ant a mile away!! Good job with the meet n’greet n’eat!
You are such a good anti-ant guardian, Sister Dolly!
Wow, you take care of those ants with ease. We eat if we see, but house flies are our favorite, track those down and eat them.
Dolly, thanks for explaining that!

We had a few ants eight years ago when we moved in, so Mommy sprinkled cayenne pepper in the seams of the wood at the base of all exterior doors and windows making sure to clean up any pepper where kitties would step,…and then we were ant-free for eight years. But this year the ants tried to moved in again. Our Clarence detected them like you did, and Mommy re-cayenne peppered the doors and windows, so we are ant-free again. She also placed a saucer of water beneath of our crunchy food dish so ants couldn’t get to it, just… Read more »

We had some ants out in a crack on the front sidewalk this morning, but Mom sprayed them and they are no more.
Ha, you can come over anytime for a greet ‘n eat here. As you know we live in a big, old antique farmhouse with many non-cat residents 😉
Dolly, don’t even get me started about those ants! We had such a bad ant problem here that my human had to hire an exterminator and all us kitties had to vacate the house yesterday! My human took us to a friend’s place nearby and we spent the night, but we were mighty hissed off about it!
Yes the cats can smell them coming before we people have any idea they are around!!
Good cats!!!
Thanks Brain– Tom and I are very happy with each other thank the Lord!!
Thanks for your visit!
Thank you for clarifying that for us, Dolly!
Purrs,
The Chans
You are doing a very worthwhile job Dolly. I always know when the ants are around and tell mum so she can kill them.
ooooops, so our Toon Tuesday was reeeeally apropos for you guys, huh?
Our ants appear to have left and we’re all crossing our paws that this is so!
Oh Dolly you are so, so cute! We are glad you help keep those antsy ants at bay! Have a great Caturday and weekend, kitties!
You know, Dolly, you’re saving your family from a marauding ant attack. It’s hard work, but the rewards in the end make up for it.
You have fun Dolly. Have a great weekend.
You have some amazing hearing! We had ants really badly last month and mostly we ignored them unless they got into our food. You must be one sensitive girl, sister Dolly!
Does this…does this…make you an…ANTEATER!?!?!?!?
The mom freaks when the ants come in the house….she doesn’t want us to get them. But fortunately, we haven’t had any ants lately. But as for spiders…that’s another story!
The peeps used to have ants every year in the old house but they don’t come up 4 floors fortunately. Nicky used to bring them into the house and they even got into TW’s bed one year. I bet your peeps are happy you’re eating them.
TBT uses vinegar spray. Its like they go all drunk.
hee hee! you are sharp, Dolly! sometimes we see little ant scouts running around on our carpet. We’ll eat them too 🙂 if there are a lot though, we kinda get creeped out…along with our mom 😀
Have a great weekend!
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie
Nice work, Dolly! Delilah is the bug hunter in our house – she is very good at it too. Keep up the great work!
P.S. We have nominated you for a blogging award in our post today!
No ant´s inside the house over here , but we do have jummy spiders 🙂
XOXO
