I know, I know, we’re usually all happy dancing when the weekend gets here, but now we are glad the weekend is over. Seriously, it was darn wet around these parts. Really, wet doesn’t quite cover it. Flooding wet is really a more accurate description. We are all fine here though.
Saturday night around 9:00 in the evening it started raining just about as hard as it could rain. Between 9:00 and Midnight there was 6 inches of rain. Many roads were flooded. How flooded? One road had water that was up to the headlights on a mini-van and rescuers were putting out a call for boats to help get people out of their cars. In another area a bridge got washed out and two cars happened to be on it at the time. The cars tumbled off and on to a natural gas line that was down below. The were rescued and were all okay. So, we’re really hoping we get to dry out some this week. It’s not just us, way over across the pond our friends over at Angel Ginger Jasper’s Place (Carol and Barrie) had some awful flooding with tons of water filling up their basement.
On a lighter note, on Saturday afternoon when it was nice and sunny, there was a new visitor to the Feral Cat Feeding Station, and he managed to keep me busy watching him for quite some time…
Can you see the silly squirrel in there starting to help himself to some of the kitty kibble?
This went on for quite a while and I was right there watching. My butt was wiggling and my whiskers were twitching, but he totally ignored the fact that I was there watching. Oh well, we both were having fun.
Hey, one more thing. Thursday is a special day and we’ll be having a Commentathon, so get ready to spread the word. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Wow, that is a lot of rain! No rain here for a little while. I was totally expecting to see another feral but nope! A cute little squirrel!
We could use some of yer rain right now. Its darn dry here. Well, not like some yers when the soil cracks open in August, but the rain HAS been scarce lately. Who do we have to meow to ta get a trade going?
Wow, Brian, we are glad that nobody got hurt in all that flooding!!
We didn’t know squirrels like kitty kibble, MOL.
By the way, have you posted an update about Zoe’s most recent trip to the vet dermatologist? Our mom was not very good at helping us visit everyone last week, so we wanted to make sure we hadn’t missed an update if there was one.
You don’t know how much I wish we had some of that rain here in SoCal!
oh no! How scary.. I am so glad you are all ok…
Wow that is a lot of rain Brian..and some peeps forget that water can be as dangerous as fire..we are glad everyone is ok though and I bet that squirrel gave your instincts and imagination a great weekend workout! what a cutie ..we don’t get squirrels..but they sure look cute 🙂 hugs and loves Fozziemum…pee ess your eyes match the chair perfectly! 😉
Hope you managed to keep your paws dry – stay safe!!
So glad that you are all right. We didn’t get as much rain as you all did but we had quite a bit. Sure hope we get some sun this week and I do think it is coming a little later this week. Enjoy your Monday.
Wow that is a ton of rain, hopefully it stays away for a bit. Say you got enough for a month. Fun watching those squirrels indeed
That IS a lot of rain, glad you are all ok and that you didn’t have serious flooding at your home. Mom would have loved seeing that squirrel eating, she LOVES squirrels! Love, Cody
What – that is kinda scary all that rain – glad u r all safe.
Dear me I hope that bushy tailed rodent doesn’t start meowing out loud.
Hugs madi your bfff
Did someone say SQUIRREL!!!!!!?????? Have a marvellous Monday.
Best wishes Molly
What a lovely visitor. I hope the ferals regarded him as a friend and not food.
We had weather much the same as you yesterday and everywhere is saturated. We are lucky that we live on a close with an incline but the water pouring down was still about 3 inches deep and the drains were struggling to take it away. We hadn’t seen as much as a raindrop for weeks and weeks before that!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Crazy weather–that’s a lot of rain. We sure could use some…
I do a really good squirrel patrol, Brian. Maybe I should come visit!
Holy carp! Glad you are safe from all that rain! Mom says all wildlife love kitty food. When she fed the ferals at work the Canadian geese, possums and raccoons would stop by and chow down too.
Wow, Brian, we are inundated with rain as well. This is going to be our third full day of it. All that flooding sounds really bad. Glad you are all okay. That is one cheeky squirrel. The birds and squirrels here are trying to eat us out of house and home. Dad is having to feel the feeders twice each day. Can’t wait to find out about your upcoming special day. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
That am one brave squirrel. Didnt dat squirrel know he was being watched by the famous Scary Brian the Magnificent and Awesome Squirrel Catcher?
Dat rain was bein bads… you should tell dat rain to go somewhere else. Likes in the midwest. we could use more water.
we loves your saying, “Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often!.” Can we use it too? Purrz from Toby. who just gots meds for his misbehaving amputated tail…
That’s way too much rain in too short a time. Sadly, too many people insist on trying to drive through high water. Good squirrel photos! We don’t have any ferals around here…there is no good place close by for ferals to live.
That rain sounds awful. I bet you had fun watching that squirrel. Have a great week.
ba jezuz guys tell de vizshuz squirrelz ta go dine sum place else…ya due knot see de ferals
eatin stuff he haz stowed a way due ya…..we gotta werd for that squirrelz ya noe; bass terd !!!
☺
I’m with you, I’m glad that the weekend is over. We had a wicked storm what nearly blew my crib away, like Dorothy’s once. I hope all is ok at Casa Brian and the rain is over.
I would like to have such a squirrel here :o)
Holy moly Brian that’s a lot of rain. We could sure use that in California. We are in a severe drought.
We liked Mr. Squirrel! 🙂
Angel Normie, Mika, Sasha & Grady Lewis
Wow, tons of rain for you all! We got some too, the Bailey boy hid behind the toilet he was so scared of the thunder etc.
WE had torrential downpours as well but like Marg, ours wasn’t as bad as right where you all are. Brian, you sure look serious there. xoxox
That’s a lot of rain..sounds so scary. Glad you are ok. I hope it’ll dry out quickly!
Wow you got squirrel TV, how fun! I hope he won’t eat all of the food for kitties!
Oh Brian flooding sounds quite scary. Nice to hear that you’re all safe inside the house and that the weekend wasn’t all a bust for you, that squirrel tv was pawsome.
OMG – we are so thankful that you are okay. Six inches of water is a horrible amount to get in such a short period of time. It would even be a lot spread out over a week! It must have been scary wondering if it was going to come into you house too! We’d love to take some of that rain off your paws because it just doesn’t seem to rain up here this year. We are two inches behind for the summer.
SQUIRREL!!! Why didn’t you call me??? OMD! That is such an exciting photo!
Whoa. That’s quite a bit of rain you had over the weekend! We had some rain (finally!) but no where as much as you did.
Mr Tupai (our version of a squirrel) is often found crunching on Stinky’s biscuits just outside our main door. We love watching him. 🙂
OMC Brian so sowwy ’bout da floodin’ wains in yous awea. Weez had big stowms too and lots of funder all weekend. Weez know da gwound needs da wain, but weez not like it one bit. Hope da week gets better fur yous. Can’t wait fur Fursday!!!

we gots the rain today…nothing too bad. mom says it may be her fault since she finally got around to watering the plants on the deck. MOL
Oh! So cute visitor! Lovely little friend!!!!
Here in southern Brazil is the most wet winter in last years!!! I don´t like this time too!
Kisses
And no ferals came along to bother the little guy, either!
Oh, you need one of us there to chase away that thief!!! Squirrel – be gone!!!
Hope the rains didn’t do too much damage there – and poor Angel GJ’s Mum and Dad – so much work, such a mess.
Woos – Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning

I hope your rain has stopped Brian. That squirrel would make me wiggle my butt too. Did you chitter at him?
Oh my goodness, lots of rain …so glad you all and your home are all okay. (We feel for Carol and Barrie for sure with the flooding they had.)
Sweet squirrel. We don’t have that kind up here. Ours are already chittering and burying nuts for winter!
Oh wow that was a lot of rain! We sure are glad you were all high and dry!
Wow, that is some serious rain you guys got there, Brian! We sure do hope things dry out for you this week. We’ll be here for your commentathon. 🙂
We have wildlife (racoons & skunks) which eats our cat food – I don’t feel bad about that since there is to much human encroachment on wildlife territories.

Brian, you musta sent all the rain north because today all it did here was rain rain and more rain. So much so that everything is flooded. We’re okay here…but we sure hope the rain goes some place else now.
Whoa! I’m glad your house didn’t wash away. We’re supposed to get all that rain starting tomorrow. Ick. Too bad you couldn’t get at that squirrel but you’re too nice to hurt him.
Wow…that is a lot of rain. Glad you are all okay. Love that feral cat station! And apparently, so does your visitor! I’m sure it was a fine time of entertainment! 🙂
Wow!!! That is some crazy rainy weather you all had. Glad everyone is okay. Brian, how did you ever contain yourself with that squirrel RIGHT THERE eating the kitty kibble!
Ohhhh that cheeky little bugger!
