Mancat Monday: We Had Snow and the Weather Guessers Were Wrong

Adopt Tigger ADOPT TIGGER

Brian's Home. Adopt cats, we deserve it!

Hey, two things before I get started. First, Zoe is doing pretty good considering all she has gone through and Dad and Mom are trying to get used to the diabetes and testing things. Second, I am not getting any emails from WordPress when you comment on my blog, so we are trying to keep up with visiting.

Okay, back to the headline, can you imagine the weather guessers being wrong?  MOL! Ours are usually, shall we say, less than accurate.  The forecast was for snow in the mountains, which are about 30 minutes from here.  Well, when we woke up Saturday morning all the news humans were showing live shots from our area with snow everywhere and bad driving conditions.  Seriously?!?!

Snow on November 1st is just way too early and we hope that isn’t a sign of things to come. We have also been under freeze warnings every night.  Our feral kittens seem confused by it all but they really do seem to be taking it in stride.  The time change is more confusing to them, and to us too.  Only humans would think this is a good idea. Us cats would never do anything so silly like that.

Okay, that’s the Monday update from this Mancat.  I hope you all have a terrific week! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

I hope the weather is not too hard on your feral family this winter! Do you know Janea, the human who does the Paws and Effect blog? She adopted a diabetic kitty and she knows lots of first hand info and has done loads of research about this – she would be a good one to be in contact with for Zoe.

So you DID get snow! We have family members in Knoxville and we wonder if they got snow too as it was forecast for the mountains and a bit for Knoxville. I feel badly for your ferals if it is a harsh winter.

Oh that is such good news that Zoe is beginning to improve.
We finally did get snow on Saturday morning. Not much but it did snow. We too hope this is not a sign of the kind of winter that we are going to have. My outside cats are very cold but seem to find warm places to sleep.

We’re glad to see that Zoe is eating much better now she has been diagnosed with diabetes. We thought you were joking about the snow when we read your blog – that is far too soon for it. We hope it will melt soon and the sun will come out especially for your feral kitties.

Oh my, I am gone for 5 days (and didn’t bring laptop) and boy oh boy am I ever out of the loop! I have some blog reading for your blog to catch up with and will do that today. I am sorry to hear that Sister Zoe has diabetes, but I hear from others that it is manageable, if ANYONE can manage it, it is your Mom and Dad, Brian. Sister Zoe is in quite capable paws. Sending much love!! I will catch up (hopefully), today! xoxo

Do you have to give Zoe insulin? We’ve missed the past several days of your blog posts when the computer crashed. 🙁 If you have to give insulin, a friend of mine says it is easy to give at mealtime. Some cats don’t even know they’ve been injected because they’re too busy enjoying their dinner!

Snow already? Wow. We hope this is not a sign of the winter ahead!

We saw on last night’s news that parts of the US had had a nasty taste of winter already. Crazy. The beginning of November is WAY too early. Maybe this will be it for you, no more!

Continued purrs to Zoe; we’re glad she’s doing as well as she can be! (Did the vet say it was okay to give probiotics? Just curious.)

Sorry you got snow…we are not fans of snow! However, that is what happens when the Jet Stream dips way south. Try to stay safe and warm!

We’re glad Zoe continues to do well. The snow and cold is just crazy. We’re shivering all the way in Florida and join you in hoping this isn’t a sign of the winter ahead!

Brian, can you please huff and puff and blow that snow our way – we sibes would love it even if the Momster would not!!!

We have noticed that several of our commenters’ comments are not coming to us via email either (and they used to ), and we are on Blogger. Very strange.

When Pop told me there was a lot of snow in your area, I couldn’t believe it. We’re only had one night where it got really cold. We haven’t even neede the heat turned on! Pop also said we’re expecting a bad winter with another Polar Vortex or whatever. I’m glad Zoe is feeling better and must say you are looking exceptionally handsome.

Glad to hear Zoe is doing better. Hopefully her diabetes can be easily regulated. We didn’t home blood test Barney very often – only when something seemed “off” or we just wanted to double-check where we were at.

Hopefully the sun is still making sunpuddles for you even though there’s snow.

Brian, Mommy says snow at ANY TIME is terrible. We are glad Zoe is improving–our Fuzzy did really well once he was regulated and lived to be 19! He “got shot” once a day for nearly seven years and was a complete star.
