Mancat Monday: Hoping Old Man Winter Is a No Show

49 Comments on Mancat Monday: Hoping Old Man Winter Is a No Show

Brian's Home. Adopt cats, we deserve it!  No, this isn’t a picture from today, it’s actually from last January.  But the local weather guessers, and some national ones as well, say that Old Man Winter is going to be paying us a visit.  We’re “supposed” to get 3-5 inches of snow and maybe, “maybe” 1/2 inch of ice, which is a lot worse that snow.

The humans down this way don’t handle that well at all.  Actually, they are not very good at that driving thing in the rain…or the dry for that matter.  So snow and ice really creates a lot of havoc down this way.  It’s almost guaranteed that the grocery stores are sold out of milk, bread and toilet paper.  I never understood that combination, but they must be planning on eating milk sandwiches.  That might explain the need for the toilet paper.

So, I’ll be at the window today seeing if the weather guessers guessed right or guessed wrong. Either way, on that TV thingy you know they will claim to have been right.  We hope our pals up in the Northeast will be okay, they’ve sure gotten hammered this year.

Keep snuggly warm everyone!!!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

MOL at your remarks about humans and their bad-weather diet, Brian! I can’t imagine what would happen if it snowed here in Southern California! Humans would act like it was the apocalypse! Except for my human, who’d be building snow kitties and making me pose with them.

  3. marg

Well, we are sure hoping that that it all misses us. We don’t want ice. We have all our paws crossed for all of you that you don’t get hit. Take care and stay warm.

  4. Fur Everywhere

The ice is definitely the worst! We hope that you don’t get any snow or ice there. We got a bit of snow today and we are going to be getting a bit more tomorrow, too. Stay warm dear friends!

  5. Simba

Good luck! As far as the weather guessers are concerned, Mom has noticed they never make it possible for her to look back at the forecast after the fact! We had 3-5 inches of snow forecast for Saturday and got about 1 inch and a lot of wind.

Hope winter doesn’t treat you too badly. We are supposed to get a little snow, but not nearly as bad as New England. Around here, when stores sell out of milk, toilet paper, and bread, it is called a “white-out”. Where you live isn’t the only place where humans don’t deal well with snow. When I was stationed in the Washington, D.C. area, people would practically panic over a couple inches of snow.

We are right there with you, Brian. Down here in Georgia, everyone goes insane if it snows. And everyone buys up all the bread and milk, which we’ve never understood either!!! We are supposed to be getting some of that Old Man Winter too, but we are hoping that the weather men are wrong (they usually are). Hope yours are too!!! (that is, unless you like the snow/ice)

We are expecting old man winter, too! And we are not good at handling such weather, either. Some sleet and we get freaked out. Stay safe and warm!

  10. Caren Gittleman

Hoping that nasty weather leaves you alone! Maybe they want to eat French toast? We are only going to be 9 degrees here in Michigan…….it’s a “lose-lose” everywhere!

  11. Penelope

Oh WoW! Milk Sandwiches! That would be so weird.Mommy says when she was a little kid, if she was sick, her Dad (who was from England) would make warm milk and bread. Kisses

  12. Annabelle

We laffed at your weather guessers comment! So true.
Well we hope they guessed wrong but things on the map look like they may be closer to their guesses than any of us wanted them to be .
    Stay safe and warm!

  13. Raven

You have a great view of the outdoors. It’s warmer than normal here and I’ve had my windows open every day for the past week. Stay snuggly my friend.

  14. The OP Pack

We finally got a bit of snow AND some very cold temps. But we hope it misses all of you – stay safe and stay warm.

Our storm gave us snow-rain-flash freeze and now everything is solid ice and hard to move.Even the plows are having trouble.
We certainly hope that mess does not come your way.
We are more or less equipped to handle it.
    Stay indoors and keep warm.
    We’ll send purrs!
    Purrs Georgia and Julie,

  17. Flynn

It’s obvious Brian! The milk and bread is emergency rations for the humans when they get snowed in, and the toilet paper is for the kitties to shred to stop them getting bored.

  18. Dip and Elliot

We were just listening on the news that a lot of places have snow there Brian.
Hope it isn’t too bad where you are.

I hope they’re wrong for your sake. We aren’t expecting as much snow as south of us but we’ll have temperatures in the low single digits and teens with wind chills well under zero. We’d rather have 30 and snow.

  20. Bev Green

Brian we have seen how bad the weather is in parts of the US on or news..we do hope people take care in the roads..we think of all the poor homeless peeps and animals and it makes us super sad…so stay warm sweetie! loves Fozziemum xx

  21. KB

I hope that you stay snuggly!!! Where we live high in the mountains, we *always* have lots of bread, milk, and TP in the house! You never know when you’re going to get a surprise 14″ of snow (like today). I agree – ice is much worse. I hope the forecasters were wrong for you!

  22. da tabbies o trout towne

dood…hope de flurreez flewed out ta de sea… N yur knot eatin toy let paper { tho playin with it iz fun… 🙂

  23. Mark's Mews

We’re pretty safe on food here. He makes his own bread and likes his milk in cheese form (and we dont know annything about toilet paper).

For our selfs, we got a month worth of cans (we checked).

  24. Kitties Blue

We gots the snows and the winds and the super frigid temperatures. It ain’t Boston, but we don’t like it. We really hoped to escape the bad snows this year. Stay warm all. We’re all piled in bed with our humans. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
