Well, what can I say? The battle of the PeeWars continues, so I thought I would tell you why I am thankful today. I know, I know, thankful and PeeWars really shouldn’t be in the same sentence, but it works because it’s a bit of an update. Of course I could say it is a wee bit of an update MOL!.
Anywho, last time I was at the Emergecy Clinic the nice Dr Elliott thought that I had FLUTD, specifically idiopathic cystitis. All that basically means is they have ruled most everything else out and what I have falls in the “who knows” category. Dr, Elliott suggested a course of action and with the help of my regular Vet, the wonderful Dr. Anderson, we got some meds.
It is really kind of simple, I think I have to pee due to a pretty constant inflamation in my urinary tract. I need meds with anti-inflamatory properties. So, once the PeeWars start Dad is to give me 1/2 prednisone for three days, then 1/2 prednisone every other day for 3 days, then done. Repeat as necessary. I am also a low dose of amitriptyline. Both of these have anti-inflamatory properties. Plus I am taking a uretha relaxer and pain meds on a regular basis.
So, how did it work out? It may be too early to draw a conclusion. However, the PeeWars tried to start on two different occasions and Dad followed the suggested course of action and within two hours the PeeWars stopped.
I am thankful for the two wins so far and I am super thankful for the wisdom of the wonderful Vets who are trying to help me. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Paws crossed for you, Brian! I hope this treatment continues to work for you!

So glad the vets found some ammunition to aid you in your Pee Wars battle. Good luck, we know you are going to lick that nasty inflammation.
We are so glad to hear that you are making some progress, Brian! We hope it continues….we have found prednisone can really be a miracle drug of sorts and treats a lot of different things.
Thank goodness for wise vets! Let’s hope this really does the job!! Sending continued megapurrs for you, Brian xxx

Keep at it, Brian. We’re rooting for you to win the battle of the pee wars.
Crossing our paws for you Brian. May this be the help you need to stop the pee wars.
Brian, you know if your humans have trouble getting you to take the Prednisolone, they make it in yummy flavors! Mes gets chicken liver flavored pills that melt in my mouth every day. The Mom can send along the info for our compounding pharmacy (it’s on the east coast) if your humans are interested. We hope the meds continue to help!
Purrs,
Carmine

Oh querido essa é uma boa notícia, eu sei como é difícil essa guerra xixi.
You do crack us up with your wit, Brian:) Isn’t it wonderful when you find a vet who has a novel idea that really seems to work? That is what we had for the past couple of years with wonderful Dr. B. We hope he sticks around with our vet clinic for a long time.

Prednisone worked miracles with Nylablue…the only drawback is that it can cause Diabetes… so I am praying that never happens to you Brian.
I am glad you are on the ‘Ami’…Dr Dave would not use that on Nylablue…only Mirtazipine (but that was for appetite).
We are ‘purrayin’ as Siddhartha Henry says for you to feel better soon.
If your Dad or Mum need anything they can email me ok??? I am here for all of you.
((hugs)) Sherri-Ellen & Siddhartha Henry =^,.^=
Brian, we are thankful you are getting some relief and the docs have figured out a way to help you if not completely solve your darn pee wars 🙂 purrs,
Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, Hollie

Brian, I hope you’re not gonna need one of those sex change operations to shorten your uretha. OMG! I’m glad the new meds are working for you. I’ll keep my paws (and eyes) crossed for you.
I’m so glad the vet is proactive and thinking outside the box (litter box, that is).
That’s a lot of vigilant loving care, Brian, but I know your people are up to the task!

Brian, that sounds like lots of meds but if the treatment is working…YIPPEE! Giulietta is on a low dose of amitriptyline and though it has taken about three months, it really seems to be helping her. No peeing on the floor at all in the last couple of weeks. Good luck with the treatment protocol. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
We are rooting for you Brian and have our paws crossed that the new treatment will continue to work for you.
