No wonder diet is a four letter word! But first, thanks to Brian for letting me use the Ottoman today, it’s now officially an Ottowoman. It also happens to be the closest thing I’ve got to a soapbox.
Diet, go ahead, count the letters. See, I’m right. So why am I so frustrated? Well, let me tell you all about it. Okay Brian, I won’t tell them all about it, just some about it. You see, ever since I’ve been on this diet, several weeks now, I’ve gained two ounces. Seriously, what kind of diet is that anyways? I thought the whole idea of a diet was to lose weight, not gain weight. I’d be better off not being on a diet. Oh, I did lose one of those additional ounces, but that still means I weigh one more ounce that when I started. Besides that, I’m hungry.
My Dad and Mom aren’t quite sure about it either. I’m obviously feeling better, I’m much more active and jumping and playing again. I still think there might be something wrong with the scales, but Sister Zoe gets weight regularly too and her weight has been stable.
Guess what? Brian told me to start wrapping it up. Oh well, thanks so much for letting me rant a bit today. If you’ve ever had a weight problem I’m sure you’ll understand. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Diets are weird things! Binga and Boodie are older and tend to lose weight, so my human gives them EXTRA! Can you believe it? I don’t get lunches like they do, so I am kind of jealous.
Sister Gracie, I fear I too am going to have to join you on this venture. Ask your daddy or mommy to tell me what they are getting you to help you gain 2 ounces MOL. Seriously, I need that D word. I am 13 pounds and I should be 9. You look marvelous right now and Alex would be proud!
Gracie, that sure doesn’t make any sense at all. Are you sneaking food from someone. That is what we would do.
You all have a great day.
Oh Gracie, you do look disgusted with this state of affairs. That’s great that you’re feeling better and have more energy.
xxoo
My cat bro Bert has been on a diet for a few years now. Sometimes his weight is up, sometimes it is down. We don’t get it either and he dislikes the diet thing. Bummer.
Sister Gracie my Mother sure feels your pain! She goes through the same!! Are you exercising more? Could be muscle!! Muscle weighs more than fat (at least that is what my Mom likes to say!) Love, Cody
Gracie – I feel your pain… I think the scale is broken!
Gosh Gracie……I feel your pain…..dieting must be really tough – I lost two pounds around the time I was diagnosed with the thyroid issue but that’s not a “good” way to lose weight…..SLOWLY but SURELY is a good way. I think you will get used to having less food and your weight will come down nice and slow. Purrrrsonally I think you look FAB just the way you are!
Love, Sammy
Wow, that has to be annoying indeed. The scale must just be broke for you
.. that just doesn’t sound right — gaining weight on a diet?! we totally feel for you and understand why you wish to protest! Change those scales….
Love Helen, Darcy, Bingley & Fred xxxx
Oh for heaven’s sake!! That scale is just madness! Try to have a great day and we love your Ottowoman!
Poor Sister Gracie…that diet must a bother. Hope you can get it all sorted out!
Gracie that 4 letter word lives here too….I keep telling mom as WE 3 Seniors age (peeps included) we need to keep a little extra poundage just for a rainy day. She rolls her eyes at me.
Hugs madi your bfff
Gracie, I understand! I too need to lose weight. I hate diets! The prescription food is fattening but the lady thinks I’ll be ok going off it so this will be the last bag. By the way, I think you look wonderful and am so glad you’re feeling good!
You must have grown extra floof Sister Gracie! That’s what it will be!! You look purrfect to me xox
HHHMMMM thiss iss berry weerd Sisfur Gracie…..
Butt LadyMum says shee has been on die-Tss that made her gain weight befur shee lost thee weight….
Mee not know what to tell you…mee finkss yur purrfect as you are! 😉
An Alex doess too….
**nose kissesss**Siddhartha Henry xxxxxx
That as quite rude of Brian. You should be able to rant as long as you want. It does sound as if your diet needs to be reevaluated. At least you have the ottowoman for yourself, and you are looking meowvolous.
Could the 2 oz. be poop? It’ll all balance out in the end. Let me know if dad is going to the summit.
That scale is obviously broken. Have you tried pumpkin mixed with the food to fill you up? I keep my tri figure by running and being active.
Hmm, that sounds weird, Gracie! Maybe the scale is doing some sort of trick!
Glad you are feeling good, though 🙂
Gracie, I know what ya mean about “d*#t”. When I got to 11.5 pounds again, TBT decided that was too much, so he started giving me a little less food each meal AND standing there to keep me from pushing my nose into Marleys bowl (Ayla eats elsewhere). Im down ta 11 pounds after just a month, so TBT relented and is giving me a LITTLE more. He says Im still too heavy, but should lose weight slower. ~ IZA
Gracie i think you may be gaining revenge ounces..you know when your body gets cranky at you and says here have these..not fair..diets stink and nobody likes them..we hope your scales are just acting mean..loves Fozziemum xx
Oh, Sister Gracie, don’t get discouraged. Being more active now will help with the weight loss. Keep up the good work, sweetie!
I wonder who invented diets? Maybe the same person who came up with the vet, or the PTU! You look good to me, maybe tell your humans where they can put their diet… Rock on!
We hear you Gracie 🙂
Sister Gracie, Ciara so understands your discontent. She is starving all the time because of that four letter word and she can’t seem to shed any weight either. And now with the increase I her mess, it will be even harder. Pretty soon all she will have in her bowl is green beans and no kibble:(. If it is any consolation, you sure are pretty!
Woos – Ciara and Lightning
I can totally understand Gracie’s frustration?
Mom put all the Girls on new food too that was supposed to be lower calorie. Mazie lost weight and the Puffs gained on the small dog. They are back to their old kind so that Mom can get the extra off before winter’s inactivity sets in!
Oh Gracie weez so sowry yous have to be on a dit in da furst place. We magine you awe hungry. We hope yous get it figgered out soon and can get sumfin’ to eat. Cuz clearly yous feelin’ better wiff da extwa weight.
Luv ya’
