A Zoe Sister Saturday

Brian's Home. Adopt cats, we deserve it!

Hello everyone!  I hope your Saturday is a good one, so far ours is pretty darn good.  Of course most of our days are pretty good around here, even if there are some things I’m not too fond of that happen on a daily basis.  Yes, it’s true, seriously.

Oh, I’m talking about medicine.  I’m one of the ones that have to take meds in the morning and in the evening.  Come to think about it, I haven’t really told you how I’m doing lately. Fact is, I’m doing pretty darn good.

I don’t know if you all remember or not, but I had a fur ball the size of a racquet ball cut out of my tummy last year, that’s what excessive grooming gets you I guess.  I was also diagnosed with diabetes and Stage 2 CKD and a severe allergy to fleas.  To top it off, I had to have 3 teeth extracted. I was a pretty sick girl and had lost a lot of weight.  I was a little over 11 pounds and had gone down to 7,2 pounds.

Well, a year later, my diabetes is in remission, there is no sign of CKD and my weight is up to 10.7 pounds and has been holding steady.  But, to keep me healthy and to keep me from licking myself silly, there is that med thing.  So, every morning I get a small dose of amitriptyline and a small dose of prednisone.  Then in the evening I get another small dose of amitriptyline, some atopica, some RenAvast, as a small dose of Pepcid. One a month I get my ear stuck so Dad can check my glucose numbers, which are still terrific. Guess what else, I get my teeth brushed too.  I’m pretty good at that one.   I don’t actually fuss too much but I won’t say that I like it.  Hey, all of this must be working for me though.

So, all in all I’m doing fine and I sure hope that you are too.  That’s it for me today, I hope you have a totally wonderful Saturday!

No fun being a sick kitty.
We travel with a diabetic cat (Newman) so we can give him his twice a day injections.
