Thankful Thursday: Snuggles During Dark Time

44 Comments on Thankful Thursday: Snuggles During Dark Time

Brian's Home. Adopt cats, we deserve it!
Well, the humans went and messed with the time again. I don’t really know why they keep doing this, but we’re really not big fans of it getting dark so early.  The dark season makes it tough for us to keep track of the ferals since their dinner time now occurs during Dark O’Clock.  It’s hard to tell who is who in the feeding station, even with the big flood lights on.

Actually, the time change thing always messes us up too.  It seems like the servants are serving us meals at totally the wrong time.  I know, there really isn’t a wrong time for a meal, but dang, it sure seems like us.  The first evening on the “new time” almost all of us refused dinner, it just didn’t seem right.  I will likely never understand why the humans think they know better than Mother Nature.

Oh well, on the bright side…I can snuggle in earlier and start my snoozy.  Hey, dark makes for some mighty fine snoozies so I’ll just be thankful for that.

Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We agree that dark is good for snuggling!

#1 has to take Tommy out for his afternoon run much earlier now. She is also feeding The Traveller earlier. He seems to have figured things out and is usually waiting for his supper.

Yeah the times are messed up! But we are lucky about the foods. We just get fed when TBT gets up no matter what time it is and we get 6 meals. We sure aren’t gonna argue about THAT!

We don’t like this time either. We have to eat in the dark and that just isn’t any fun, plus the birds all go to bed earlier since it is dark. Glad you are getting some more snuggles. You all have a great day.

We don’t understand why the humans insist on changing time, either, Brian. The Mom says that when she was growing up in Indiana, they never changed time (now they do, though) and she liked it that way!

The time change totally messed us up, too.. We don’t like early dark o’clock, either, but you are right, early snooze sounds good 🙂

Hi cute Brian, we can see why you guys wouldn’t like it getting dark early since that comes in the way of caring for your ferals. The lady likes that it’s lighter earlier in the morning. It’s good that you’re getting snuggles earlier!

We are lucky here in Arizona — we don’t change the clocks at all!! When mum first moved down here (in 2002) she was confused for a day or two, but then she got used to it. Sixpence and Tigger also say hi.

We’ve been doing a pretty good job of getting Mom up extra early so we can still get our breakfast when we want it, and not when the clock says we should have it. Needless to say, this doesn’t make Mom too happy. By the time we get used to this new change, it will be time to change again:)

I don’t like the darks either. It means that sometimes mum doesn’t have time to take me for a walk before it gets dark. I can still stay in the garden until she goes to bed though.

We have a built in squeaking alarm clock most morning – right around 5 am (sometimes earlier), and we wonder why we are always tired.

Fortunately, my lot aren’t affected much by the time-change. But I think they do like to see me yawning as I stumble about turning on lights now.

my three rescues (two dogs and a cat), and I could not agree more. Why messing with Mother Nature, and adjust the time? With as many people and furbabies thinking that this is just crazy stuff, we might one day get over that.
It would make us happy.

Great blog!

Have a great day!

PepiSmartDog: oh dear – we don’t have daylight saving in Queensland so we forgot how badly it would affect feeding the feral kittehs. Yikes!
You do such great work in taking care of them – hope they will adjust quickly. :=o(
