Hello everyone, welcome to a brand new week and the final week of August. It sure is hard to believe that we’re moving into September already. Sister Precious is already quite happy upstairs because I can hear some football games on her TV, and that girl loves watching football.
Anyways, on to the ups and downs. I do want to thank my fellow bloggers who are kind enough to contact me when my blogs go down. Most of the time I know, but not always, so a heads up is always appreciated. Our blogs have certainly had their ups and downs last week and it drives the Dad crazy. Of course you’ve heard me say it before, but driving the Dad crazy is a pretty short trip.
No doubt, if you watch the news at all, you’ve heard of some major hack attacks from some countries I won’t mention here. Well, they’ve been doing what’s called brute force attacks on our server. When these attacks happen, all the regular things are overwhelmed and thus you all get a message that our blogs are not available. We have our server set up to automatically block new attacks as they occur, shut down all processes and restart itself. Often, if you see we’re not available, we will be again in about 20 minutes. But please let us know if we’re not out there, because each attack is different and we may need to put something additional in place.
Dang, I I thought email spam was bad! Have a fun week everyone and remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Every time I’ve been here, the blog has been up, so I didn’t know you were having troubles. My human’s publishing website has a heavy-duty security plugin that keeps out brute force attacks. Every so often she gets a message that one is happening, but readers are always able to access the blog, although she avoids logging in until the attack seems to be over. If you want to know about it, you can message her – it’s actually something easily found on WordPress.
We have not had trouble seeing your blog 🙂
It is sad that humans want to do these mean things.
Have a happy Monday Brian 🙂

Gosh, that’s no fun at all! We haven’t had any problems visiting you. Hope things work well from here on out.
That can’t be any fun. Hopefully, these happenings are few and far between.
Thank you for the info…sorry to hear that bad humans are attacking your server.
We didn’t realize you were having issues. That’s a real bummer 🙁
The Florida Furkids
So far your blog has been available, i hope you don’t have any troubles. I don’t understand what joy people get out of hacking others.
Não encontramos problemas com seu blogue até agora, mas espero que vocês não voltem a
ter problemas.
Boa semana!
oh no you poor thing!!!! You know if I visit and your blog is down I always tell you, thankfully, when I have visited all has been fine! This morning, Cody’s blog (on Blogger) had over 100 pieces of spam comments (that happens to me approx once a month) and it is so taxing sitting there and deleting them one by one. It’s crazy out there!!
We haven’t had any problems stopping by! We’re glad you’re here too and hope things get figured out one way or another so you dad isn’t so stressed.
So sorry to hear! We went through that last year and switched to a managed WordPress service. Purrs for a better week.
You aren’t kidding about ups and downs. Tried to shut computer down at noon to leave and it shut down the monitor but the computer wouldn’t go off. NO WARNING! But Win 10 was updating itself. Had me scared to death because it was downloading from net. I hate Win 10! Sneakiest OS ever.
I agree, Jan. I had the same last week and no warning it was updating. The new PC came with Win10 so I had no choice. I am very glad I didn’t upgrade the laptop to 10.

An if Sisfur Precious wantss to come visit shee can watch football with LadyMum 😉

Well, that sure doesn’t sound very good – and it is downright rude of those hackers to prevent us from seeing you and you from telling us how life is!!! We will put our Sibe spell on them to get them to stop.
Woos – Ciara and Lightning
My mom loves technology, but she has no patience when it doesn’t work right and if our site goes down, it causes a huge panic. No fun at all, so I understand.

I haven’t had a problem, but I haven’t been visiting much the last few days. I hope everything goes better now.
We’re sorry about the hack attacks, Brian. You would honestly think that people have better things to do. Why dont they go ad play with a cat instead?
Purrs,
The Chans
Your blog has been up every time we visited, or we would have dropped you a note to let you know!
Sonfar me and mommy have been able to visit. I have noticed thru looking at my stats and etc that my blog is in a certain language and an exact copy over there. The address of it is followed with that Countries initials. Made mommy really mad but one of her sons said leave well enough alone.
Sorry that happened. Enjoy your week.
We haven’t had a problem visiting your blog. We can’t believe people have too much time on their hands that they stop the publishing and viewing of a cat blog!
That has to be a pain in the arse. Wouldn’t let me comment last week but then it did after ten minutes.
Hopefully the hackers turn their attention elsewhere. They are such a waste of energy.
But you’re looking handsome as always through all your frustrations.
It’s sad to think some people have nothing better to do.
I was locked out of my wordpress blog a few years ago. Someone changed all the passwords and I couldn’t get in for a while. Hope you’re problems are solved.
xxoo
A dog needs to bite those hackers.
We had a few of your messages into our spam folder but we can usually get here. What a nightmare for you all having yhis stuff thrown at you UGH.
On Google Analytics one of our big hits is from Russia. so I can imediately discount a lOT of thise hits Grrr!
Brian, we can relate to blog problems. We don’t understand why humans can’t spend the energy they use to attack blogs on something more useful. We hope things settle down soon.
We thankfully never have problems when we come to your blog. Why oh why can’t humans spend all this energy for good?
Whoa! Island Cats have been having blog problems too. I’m kinda glad I’m not on WP. I wouldn’t know anything about servers or stuff like that. I only know about cat food and toys.
That’s so messed up, Brian! Why would anyone want to conduct a brute force attack on your awesome blog? 🙁
We haven’t had any problems visiting you and/or commenting, but we will let you know if we ever do.
Hugs!
Well, I’m glad your site is back up now, anyway. If I ever notice something, I’ll be sure to let you know!
We occasionally see the slows and even fails sometimes on various blogs, but we never knew it was hack-attacks!
Brian!
Hackers is Poopy Heads! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their unmentionables!
Kisses
Nellie
I am so sorry to hear about your problem, and glad that you site is back now. I can not understand that someone did that…
I hope that everything’ll be ok. Enjoy your week and ignore those bad humans who had tried to bother you.
