I wanted to take a few minutes today to ask each of you to send purrs, woofs and well wishes to all those affected by the recent flooding in Louisiana, there are so many helpless animals trying to survive this awful disaster. Not only Louisiana, but our friends in Texas have had terrible flooding rains as well.
Even though the rain, for the most part, has stopped, the clean up and rescue efforts have a long way to go, and help is always needed. As always, if you should decide to help financially, make sure your money is actually going to a group who is really helping and has paws on the ground.
I won’t repeat all of the ways to help here, but I would encourage you to check out an important site at NOLA.com, specifically How to help pets, other animals affected by Louisiana Flooding. There is also a Facebook Page covering the crisis: HERE.
Now, if you will all join Sister Gracie, bow you heads, and cross your paws for all those helpless critters. As always, remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
I have been purring lots for the animals affected by the floods.

It is so hard to watch all the devastation in those areas. And the poor animals. We have watched so many being rescued on the news. Our humans have made some contributions and every little bit helps. We will keep all of those affected by the rains in our thoughts and prayers.
Woos – Ciara and Lightning
I am purring for all those affected by the terrible floods.
We are very sad for all of the families separated from their pets right now in Louisiana, and worried for the rescue organizations with so many animals in their care.
Thanks for the link. Always so worried about the anipals when disasters like these happen. Have a great week, it looks like a tabby cat monday at your house 🙂
We are sending purrs for all the critters affected by the floods.
Also for fires and other disasters.
We are so lucky to seldom face these terrible events.
Huge purrs to all the people helping rescue the critters.
Purrs Georgia and Julie,
Treasure and JJ
This is such a sad happening going on. Purring all are reunited with their families soon and that they are all okay.
É uma notícia triste, estamos enviando muitos ronronas.
We get that same terrible feeling with all the fires out here.
The news is talking about acres burnt, evacuations, etc. We’re always thinking about the poor animals (both pets and wild).
Beautiful post. Whenever tragedy strikes I feel sad for the people but, sadder for the helpless animals who have more of a struggle:(
we tweeted and shared on our personal facebook page and Cody’s xoxo
It is so sad that there are so many pets and humans effected by the flooding. I hope they get lots of help.
We send mega purrs to all of those affected by the flooding…’specially all the animals.
We’ve been all over this, Brian. Thanks for calling more attention to those poor anipals and humans. TW’s best friend lives in one of the hardest hit sections. Her dogs were able to swim in the front yard. She didn’t get hit as bad as some others. She’s been spending her days in waist deep water going into houses and rescuing people’s pets. She’s kind of a cat whisperer so she can get them to come out. She said it’s just heart breaking. She’s seen dead dogs chained to fences and worse. The media hasn’t covered this at all.
If you need any more info, let me know. We’re trying to get the BF to write a piece for my blog but she’s just too busy helping.
Purring for all the people and animals who have been affected by the floods (and the fires out west).
We are purring for the animals in Louisiana and Texas as well as their people. We have had a wetter than usual summer, the ground is saturated with water, even a little rain at this point could cause more flooding.
Yes, sending good vibes to those in Louisiana.
Gracie, we will all be praying for the people and the animals. Thank you for the reminder. Mom’s going to see if she can get some green papers together as well. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
We are glad there are so many heroes who have saved so many. So many pictures of rescue in the nick of time.
