Mancat Monday: Purrs and Crossed Paws for Those Pets Needing Help in Louisiana

Brian's Home. Adopt cats, we deserve it! I wanted to take a few minutes today to ask each of you to send purrs, woofs and well wishes to all those affected by the recent flooding in Louisiana, there are so many helpless animals trying to survive this awful disaster.  Not only Louisiana, but our friends in Texas have had terrible flooding rains as well.

Even though the rain, for the most part, has stopped, the clean up and rescue efforts have a long way to go, and help is always needed.  As always, if you should decide to help financially, make sure your money is actually going to a group who is really helping and has paws on the ground.

I won’t repeat all of the ways to help here, but I would encourage you to check out an important site at NOLA.com, specifically How to help pets, other animals affected by Louisiana Flooding. There is also a Facebook Page covering the crisis: HERE.

Crossed paws for Louisiana PetsNow, if you will all join Sister Gracie, bow you heads, and cross your paws for all those helpless critters.  As always, remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

It is so hard to watch all the devastation in those areas. And the poor animals. We have watched so many being rescued on the news. Our humans have made some contributions and every little bit helps. We will keep all of those affected by the rains in our thoughts and prayers.

We get that same terrible feeling with all the fires out here.
The news is talking about acres burnt, evacuations, etc. We’re always thinking about the poor animals (both pets and wild).

Beautiful post. Whenever tragedy strikes I feel sad for the people but, sadder for the helpless animals who have more of a struggle:(

We’ve been all over this, Brian. Thanks for calling more attention to those poor anipals and humans. TW’s best friend lives in one of the hardest hit sections. Her dogs were able to swim in the front yard. She didn’t get hit as bad as some others. She’s been spending her days in waist deep water going into houses and rescuing people’s pets. She’s kind of a cat whisperer so she can get them to come out. She said it’s just heart breaking. She’s seen dead dogs chained to fences and worse. The media hasn’t covered this at all.

If you need any more info, let me know. We’re trying to get the BF to write a piece for my blog but she’s just too busy helping.

Purring for all the people and animals who have been affected by the floods (and the fires out west).

Socks, Scylla, Fenris, Tuiren, YinYang & Chimera (ATCAD)

We are purring for the animals in Louisiana and Texas as well as their people. We have had a wetter than usual summer, the ground is saturated with water, even a little rain at this point could cause more flooding.
