As I’m sure most of you know, this past weekend was the Pet At PetSmart Charities® National Adoption Weekend. You know how much we all love adoptions, even our recent ones. Adoptions always warm our hearts.
I know, I know, I’m preaching to the choir here, but I simply can’t over emphasize how important it is for us to promote pet adoptions on a regular basis. We are the lucky ones, and I’m so thankful for that, every single day. Our local shelters work so hard on behalf of so many and any help they can get is seriously appreciated, trust me, I know that first paw.
Four of us here were adopted from Kitten Action Team who operates out of one of our local PetSmart Stores. We’re thankful to PetSmart Charities for pulling this together each year and for helping to fund so many important causes.
What are you thankful for this week? Here’s one case where I don’t mind being repetitively redundant…Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
We’ve been slacking off on promoting adoption lately… but I’m trying to figure out a new angle to put on it. I never, ever want people to get tired of this topic!
I’m thankful to have a forum to perhaps help a cat find a forever home. I know I don’t post enough about adoptable cats but I do share.
We usually promote adoptions, but of course our blog is kind of focused that way. We love when our blogging pals join in the fun! Hugs to you all, and thank you for all you do for kitties everywhere!
Being the “recipient” of the best forever home possible, I certainly wish that for all the other animals in the world who want the safety, love and PERMANENCE of a happy home. You all do such a wonderful job of promoting that, we’re so proud to know you!
Hugs, Sammy
We can’t ever read enough about adoptions, Brian, it’s worth it! Pawkisses for a Happy National Adoption Day…we need that one in our Country too to make it International 🙂 <3 <3
It is good to write about those kitties and doggies that need homes. You just never know when someone will see that particular animals and just have to have it. But we also need to write about it more often here. We just hope that all homeless animals could find a great home.
We are thankful for the terrific adoption counselors at PAWS and that Marshall and Hubbell and so many cats have gotten new homes!
xxoo
it’s very important to take care of the friends who still wait for a furever home… and I hope that the people will look in the shelters furst to find their soulmate…
As the majority of us came from a rescue, we pray that every kitty in shelters around the wurld get their furever home and a loving family to take care of them… every cat deserves a chance <3

Excellent post Brian. Several of my kitties came from shelters.
Keep doing what you do. I am thankful for all you do. ❤
This is great…we cannot remind people enough about the importance of adoption!
Those of us who have been adopted into a home are fortunate and it’s great to promote those in need so they can find a forever home too.
A fine reason to be repetitive indeed. Adopt away at every feed.
If ANYONE deserves an adoption medal it’s YOU!!
We are both adopted by Mum from a house that had over 100 cats living there. We have been very fortunate that she is a loving Mum and took both of us home with her.
Adoption is indeed a worthy cause!
Every kitty deserves a loving home and a full belly. It breaks my heart that there are so many that never know either.
It’s always a good thing when pets get adopted into good forever homes.
I am thankful every time I hear another kitty has been adopted. I wish there was a forever home waiting for every one of them.
You are so right Brian!!!

I’m so Thankful for all the rescuers and shelters, especially no kill Sanctuaries who do so much to save lives of kitties and doggies and other animals who would not have a chance other wise.
That’s a wonderful thing to be thankful for. Every animal deserves to be adopted into a good home.

I agree, Brian…we all are the voice of the rescues! Chat up a person in line at the grocery store, or while waiting for your hot coffee. Spread the word, ADOPT!!!

All of us were adopted. This year, mom is sponsoring the adoption fee for a few adult cats at a local shelter. Hopefully it will encourage someone who is hesitating about adopting an adult cat.
We all come from the shelter. It’s a much better place since Caroline was adopted in 2005 but still it’s so much better when someone takes us home. 🙂
We are thankful for the clear the shelter program that is done here.
What am I thankful for? People like you who continue to spread the word about adoptions!
We did everyone. Happy Week-end guys! We have a giveaway on Monday ….. er * thinks * US Sunday you are welcome to come and visit.
