Tabby Tuesday: Sometimes Good, Sometimes Not

Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it!
Okay, take a look at my paws, the Dad says they are pretty darn big for a kitten.  I’m kind of proud of my paws, but the Dad and Mom are wondering how big I’ll be when I actually grow into them.

Now for that title of my post.  I’ll have you know that I didn’t pick that title, by big Brother Brian picked it.  Yes, there is a story behind it, and you’ve probably already gotten a hint of it.  Sometimes when I’m with the others I’m as good as can be, other times, well I’m not as good as I can be, says the Bro.  I sometimes charge right towards whoever is available and give them a big paw swat.  To be clear, I’m not usually actually swatting someone, I’m just swatting at them.  The Dad says I’m just testing my limits, the Mom says I’m about to get a big whap attack from someone, likely Sister Zoe.

I did learn something else new, I’m not overly a fan of pills, although so far I’ve taken them.  Our Vet thinks I have allergies because I’m constantly digging at myself and licking too.  So, I might be allergic to chicken, like the gal upstairs, so I’ve been eating her duck cat food.  I’m also getting 1/4 of a benedryl  tablet once a day.  Both of these seem to be helping.

That’s it for me today, I hope you all have a super Tuesday!  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Simon, you just can’t help that you are one frisky kitten. Hopefully you will grow up soon I bet you are going to be a big boy with those big feet and that tail is just huge. You all have a great day.

  2. Angel Sammy and Teddy

Well Simon I think you’re just “finding your place” in the household which isn’t unusual – your big paws and big tail might mean you’re gonna be a BIG GUY – my Mom thinks I’ll be about Angel Sammy’s size – I have small feets so Mom might be right about me. Since I’m the only guy in the house though I don’t have to “find my place” – the whole PLACE IS MINE ALL MINE!!!!

    Love, Teddy

  3. Kitties Blue

We’d think that Benadryl would slow you down a bit, but it doesn’t sound like it. We are most pleased that Mau and Cooper are beginning to get along a bit. Those are absolutely perfect feeties, whether or not you grow into them. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy

It looks like you’re showing the world that you’re going to be a big boy, Simon ! We hope another food and the pills help to stop your allergies. Purrs

Oh Dear…after reading that you are having to take pills that explains the swats!!
MOLMOL you are practicing your swat so the next time someone comes at you with a pill they will think twice.
My human sis’s 2nd Cornish Rex, Harley, could only eat duck food. He loved it but he had a white chest and the duck food made his tongue black and when she groomed his chest it was beige.
    Hugs madi your bfff

I agree that you should probably avoid indiscriminate swatting. Are you trying to be the “Sultan of Swat”? 😉

Hope you can get the allergy problem solved.

We think you sound pretty much like a typical kitten, Simon! Taking pills is no fun, but when they make you feel better, it’s all worth it!

A little swat just keeps them on their toes. Ugg to allergies, they are never fun. Had to use liquid steroid stuff on Orlin a few months ago, that wasn’t very easy lol Cassie had them for 8+ years and then we moved and Poof! gone. The only thing that changed was the water, as we’re in the country so you’d think there would be more allergies. But nope, perfectly fine with the window open. So something they put in the city water it seems she was allergic too. Just fyi.

Oh, you are gonna get whapped for sure, Simon! When I first came to live here, I got whapped by Binga… and I wasn’t even charging at her or swiping at her. Come to think of it, she still whaps me sometimes. She’s rather grouchy!

I’m glad to hear the different food and meds are helping your allergies!

Kitties, just like puppies, need to learn boundaries. We have a feeling that those older cats will get the message to you soon:)

Your itching and biting makes us think of what happened to Misty – we thought she had allergies, but it turns out she had mites. The vet suspects she had them when she came to us, but that they got much worse right after her spay because of the hit to her immune system from surgery. One dose of a flea/tick/mite control took care of things very quickly. No mites were ever detected, but the meds seemed to do the trick.

We are curious as to how big you will be too Simon 🙂
We do recommend you keep those paws in check though.
The folks tend to not like smacky paw situations :/

Simon, your humans love you so, and they want you to be healthy and happy. They also want the other kitties the same way, so you’d better watch out for a swat or two from a kitty older than you!

  14. Raven

I thing the idea that you’re testing your limits sounds reasonable. I also think someone is going to have enough of you and swat back!
Gosh, I hope your allergies aren’t permanent. We battle that here, and it is just that….a battle. What kind of duck food does sister Precious eat. I’m always looking for non-chicken & non-fish options for Raven but haven’t tried duck.

Simon darling, what ping others is what wes does! And so long as your paws reaches the ground, then they is purrfect, no matter the size!
