Not that long ago I posted about things I’ve learned about raising kittens. Well, the kittens are teaching us a thing or twenty and we’re doing our best to teach them some things too.
One of the things I’ve learned is that a charging kitten isn’t necessarily a threat. You see, play time seems to be pretty much all the time. I’ve tried to teach them that a hiss isn’t an insult or a threat, it’s more of a back off and give me my space thing.
Yes, I’ve learned that with kittens just about anything is a toy. I’ve tried to teach them that Dad’s toes are not toys. Dad would me most thankful if that one sunk it soon.
So far the kittens haven’t eaten our food. However, a few of us have had more than one bite of their food. We’re all thankful that the menu is pretty good and the reserved eating spots are being maintained, at least for now.
What about you, what are you thankful for this week? Please hop along with us in our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Hope your toes survive the kitten! Yow!
Your kittens are so lucky to have you to teach them things, Brian! I’m glad that they are learning well 🙂
I’m glad you guys are learning the ways of kittens! I guess it’s a little difficult, although I wouldn’t know… last time there was a kitten in the house, it was ME!
Oh boy – Kittens! Hmmmm, I’ve never been around one- well, except for myself when I was a kitten. Oh the other hand, maybe I never was a kitten cuz M claims I didn’t know how to play when I came to live with them. She’s still trying to teach me. You are an old pro at this Brian, teach me please!!!
So the student is teaching the teacher?
I bet your dad is more than grateful that you rescued his toes ;o) You are a fabulous teacher ;o)
Teddy is working hard to remind us that raising a kitten truly is an EXPERIENCE! His energy level has raised OUR energy level significantly – we wouldn’t trade the experience for the world and I know you wouldn’t either….
Hugs, Pam
Those kittens can sure be a bunch of energy little furry things. Sounds like fun though, except for the toes. Love hearing about their antics. You all have a great day and hope you got through the storm all right. We are fine.
Sounds like are doing a wonderful job raising the kittens. Glad they are now leaving your dad’s toes alone. LOL
I am thankful we finally got our power back after yesterday’s storms!
Life is never boring when there are kittens in the house!

We are thankful for good friends like you and sunpuddles today!
Purrs,

Mom says she remembers having scratched up legs from kittens trying to climb up her legs!
The Florida Furkids
You dad must be thankful that you try to rescue his toes ! Purrs
Kittens, puppies, and small humans are fairly similar. They mean no harm, are super curious, and you have to always keep an eye on them!
We are thankful for YOU and “charging kittens” MOL!
Whappy toes sounds like fun. The only time we touch Mom’s toes is when we give her face rubbings. WE all like to do that to Mom’s toesies. it’s so nice to see playful kittens!
It’s been a long time since we’ve had any kittens here. We do remember getting ambushed in our bare feet though. LOL Learning toes are not toys is indeed something to be thankful for.
Here we’re thankful Molly is doing so will with her deteriorating vision and we’re thankful we her Mom and Dad are coming more to grips with the idea that this isn’t truly as big a crisis as we first thought. We can’t tell you all how much we appreciate our new Blogville friends and furiends and we love the Thankful Thir Bloghop!
I am glad you are teaching the kittens some things. 🙂 Thanks for hosting this wonderful hop.
We can always learn from others. Kittens certainly keep you on your toes, too! Hugs.
Happy Thankful Thursday friends!
Brian, when Angel and Chuck were kittens, I decided to make toys out of some old cotton socks for them. They loved them, then proceeded to attack our sock-covered feet! Didn’t take long to take away those sock toys, and teach them that feet (and hands) were not playthings. My bad!
Keep you on your toes and chew the human ones. More food isn’t a bad thing to sneak.
dood….we iz thanx full Tt iz still in one peace afturr de crazzzee weather in de wee hourz oh yesterday morn; for sure N troo lee….N pleez ask de wee onez if they can put sum spare energeez ina bottle, uz seniorz could use a wee bit 🙂 ♥♥♥ !!!
Yep, bringing young ‘uns in makes for some interesting lessons. Keeps everyone on their toes. (Not your dad’s, hopefully.)
Yikes, hope your dad’s toes don’t get too much playing with!

Though, we are posting Cooper Murphy as The Lorax for Read Across America Day, Lily Olivia is the thankful kitty for having a great 18th birthday with so many great comments and good wishes. Mauricio is not very welcoming when Cooper Murphy tries to play, but we suspect he’ll come around. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
Coincidentally, our 365-page-a-day cat calendar for yesterday said “To a kitten, if it’s not nailed down, bolted to the ceiling, or glued to the wall, it’s a potential toy.” Regarding food, one day not long after we brought Millie home, she escaped from the “enclosure” we had created in the front room and headed directly for Gracie’s food bowl!
MOLMOL Brian I recently saw a kitty quote from a kitty on the bed awaiting breakfast:
“If your toes are moving you must be awake”!!
Dad might need to tame his toes!!
Hugs madi your bfff
We bet your Dad is VERY thankful for your toes lesson:)
Happy Dr. Seuss Day!!!
Woos – Lightning and Misty
It sounds like both sides are learning a lot! We’d forgotten how much fun it can be to have a kitten, and how they never slow down!
I’m always thankful for you, Brian. Kittens will be kittens!
All of us came home beyond our kitten years, but our mom remembers William’s kitten antics! He finally outgrew everything except attacking TP. (Mom had to keep that in a special place and always had to explain to guests where to find it!)
I am thankful for scritchies, petting, head scratches, tummy rubbins…face holding, kisses, whole Katie Body hugs, gentle talk, and mommy. Then, I am thankful for furriends. VERY.
We like how all of you are learning from each other. That’s what it’s all about!
It’s a good job the kittens can learn from your most excellent wisdom Brian!
This week we’re thankful fur all our beautiful furriends!
Have a great weekend

Purrs,

Oh Brian, me so knows what you’re goin’ thru. And you can pound it into kittens and they still don’t get it. Ya’ know, all da while you’re meowin’ at ’em, they’re minds are already wanderin’ to da next bit of mischief they can get in too. MOL Good luck with dat toe thing. Mommy says fankfully, Raena never thought to p[lay with her toes. Big hugs fur all.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
Oh yeah, things are never boring (or routine) with kittens around, huh, Brian? We sure hope Dad’s toes don’t take too much of a beating. 🙂
