I remember when I first came to my forever home. So many new things and so many new places to explore. Explore I did too. I was fortunate, I had the help of my Brother Angel Ivan. He took me under his paw and showed me what was important and what was not.
Now it’s my turn. I’m trying to do the same for my Brother Simon. It’s not easy. I think he has Attention Deficit Disorder, he gets distracted so easily and is off to explore who knows what. Well, if I can ever keep his attention for longer than 2 seconds, I will gladly do my part and share the Mancat Wisdom with him. One of those pearls of wisdom is patience, so I’ll keep things in check until he is ready. Eventually Grasshopper with take the pebble from my hand.
I’m thankful that I get to watch the wonders of discovery with the newbies, it does rekindle many a memory. What are you thankful for today? Please join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
We are thankful that we have had two sunny days in a row and warmer temperatures.
I remember being as ADHD as Simon! Well, I kind of still can be that way, really. I’m thankful that doesn’t impact my ability to do all the cool things I do!
Brian, you are a wise man cat. I’m sure Simon will learn to be patient, just like you.
You are doing a good job with Simon. When he is ready you will be there!
That’s a wonderful thing to be thankful for Brian. You’re a generous soul.
I am thankful that I have the means to help my dogs when they are sick. Like Shyla – she’s starting a new med on Thurs at 10AM. It’s a scary one but I’m getting up my courage to give her the pill.
I agree it needs a while till youngsters are ready for some feline wisdom…and I’m sure you are the bestest teacher and meow-ntor for Simon :o)
I am thankful Yin, Yang and Chimera came to live with us when I still felt well enough to teach them. It has been fun to watch Yang turn into a mancat. And it sure is entertaining to watch kittens scamper about, even when you are old and no longer fell like scampering with them.
I’m having the same issues with our new boy in town Teddy – he’s a bundle of energy and can’t sit still for a minute before dashing around the house…..I find that the only time I can give him advice/show him the way is when he’s ASLEEP – since I’m an Angel I can whisper in his ear and tell him things that will serve him well in his life. It’s what big brothers do even if they aren’t there in person any longer to teach!
Love, Angel Sammy
I am thankful that spring is almost here, but not that we lose an hour of sleep on Saturday!
You all made the Mom laugh out loud about Simon and his ADHD. Brian, just stick with him if you can. He is just having so much fun. You all have a great day.
Sure you’ll whip him into shape eventually, ADD and all haha
Brian, it’s just wonderful that you’re a kind and patient mentor for Simon, just like your brother Ivan was for you. Those young whippersnappers do get distracted easily, don’t they? This picture really conveys your wisdom and kindness.
Brian, you are such a fantastic big brother. Patience sure is a good thing to have (especially with kittens, right?), and you are a purrfect example.
Brian, we totally understand the ADD, our new brofur Fudge aka the Ginger-Ninja has a goldfish memory. Fur instance he’ll climb the tree, get on the house roof and completely furget how he arrived there. Then spend the next 30 minutes meowing while the PA tries to coax him down! MOL But today we are thankful fur our new fursibs, Pandora & Fudge, they make an excellent addition to the Heathen Hoard!

You’re so sweet to have so much patience, Brian. These youngsters have no attention span.
You are a great big brother.
Brian, patience is a virtue! Maybe Simon needs a paw to the noggin sometimes? Only kidding…
I am thankful to have a loving husband who freaks out when I walk too close (in his opinion) to the tree that fell on our garage, with electric wires sandwiched between. No power for 24 hours, but he heated a pan of water for me to wash up before work, and he’s holding down the fort while I’m away at work.
“attention deficit disorder” too funny! xoxo
We were all youngsters once. Now, you pass another torch to the next generation. Hugs.
Oh Brian, you are such a great big brofur. We’re sure Simon will learn tons of things from you. But me knows all ’bout those short attention spans. MOL We are so very fankful to have ya’ll as furiends. Big hugs fur all.
Luv ya’
Dezi and Raena
You are very patient and great a great brother, Brian!
Simon may have ADD but I’m sure you can let him learn many things 🙂
We are thankful that Simon has such a wise big bro to help him become a great cat like you.
Woos – Lightning and Misty
All youngsters of every species have short attention spans I think. Simon will mature fast enough. Enjoy his young enthusiasm 🙂
Brian, I knew you would get Simon settled…when you can get his attention!
Simon is still young, he’ll learn to be patient and wise, just like you ! Purrs
We love you, Brian.
We are very thankful that so many PAWS cats have found homes recently! That means we might have enough room when kitten season starts.
xxoo
Maggie, Mickey Mouser, and Rufus the Red
Your brother Simon is as lucky to have you as you were to have your Angel Brother Ivan.

Simon has ADD….that was so funny.
Oh we showed my Dad a pic of Seal last night. She was a feral right? Wonder h ow she came to be a feral.
Thank goodness she had Simon with her

Sounds as if you have your paws full, Brian, but we know you can handle it! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
We are thankful for memories.
It must be fun having a younger brother, Brian, one that you can teach and have fun with, too.
Allie: you’re VERY patient. I ended up lobbing those “pebbles” (hard) at Faraday’s forehead. Still didn’t sink in.
But if anyone can do it, Brian, it’s you!
Someday Simon will realize how wise you are, Brian, and start listening! Patience always pays off.
Good luck with that, Brian. I’ve been trying for years with the I boys.
~Elliott.
That’s what they used to say about me. I was always off on my next adventure. Come to think of it, I still am.
Brian, you are a very wise dude, and we bet Simon will come to realize that soon enough. We think ALL kittens kind of have ADD. 😉
We’re thankful for you and your family. And for cats getting adopted! 🙂
You do a great job with your brother, Brian, we know you will. With your help we’re sure the ADD will get under control 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend 🙂 <3
Young kitties do tend to be excitable. I’m sure you will be a good teacher.
I’m thankful for my peeps. I know, I know… They’re royal pains in the tail at times but still, they know how to open our tins. MOUSES!
