Thankful Thursday: The Calm In the Storm of Simon

Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it!

Y’all may have noticed but Brother Simon is a big bundle of kitten energy and is into everything, sometimes at a non-stop pace.  Yes, I know, it’s likely a boy kitten thing since Sister Seal is a super calm girl.  Brother Simon, as you’ve heard me and the sisters say, has this habit of charging up to us.  I know, he’s testing his limits and yes, he will grow out of it.

I’m quite thankful today that we had a most wonderful bunch of calm last Saturday night.  Brother Simon was in the living room with the rest of us.  Guess what he did?  He took a great big chill pill and spent a lot of the evening belly up.  Seriously, belly up all calm and relaxed.

Want to hear something funny?  Sister Kit and Sister Grace both went over and looked right at him.  They had this look on their faces as if to say are you sure this is the same cat? The look from the sisters was priceless and is a sure sign of more calm to come.  I’m quite thankful for that!

What are you thankful for today?  Tell me about it and please join our Blog Hop.  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Oh, peace and quiet sure is nice! We’re always thankful for that, too. Sometimes it’s fleeting, but we’ll take what we can get. We’re also thankful for belly rubs. Did Simon get any belly rubs, while he snoozed all calm and with his belly up? We bet he did!

Simon, it just sounds like you have such a good time. But you have learned that taking a nap is such fun too. You are growing up. You are just in charge of entertainment. Hope you all made it through the storm. I haven’t been outside yet to see if we have any damage. Take care and have a good day.

Scylla, Fenris, Tuiren, YinYang & Chimera (ATCAD)

It may be more of a purrsonality thing then a boy/girl thing. Yang has always been pretty laid back and lazy. Chimera is a little ball of energy, Yin is very zen, and Scylla still wins the most destructive award. And this is too funny Fenris starts walks out at a run (he is bad about pulling on the leash) but by the end of the walk he is slower than a turtle and keeps looking at Mommy like why don’t you pick ME UP and carry me (He sees people carrying their SMALL dogs) while Tuiren keeps chugging along… Read more »

That is such a funny story about Kit and Grace looking at Simon when he was calm and belly up. They were probably thinking, “Who are you and what have you done with Simon?” Brian, you’re so right that he’ll grow out of some of this high energy but it may take a little while. I bet it was wonderful when he was just calmly hanging out with you all.

Kittens are fun, but calm is definitely good! We’re glad Simon is learning to slow down just a little bit!

Our humans are thankful to have all eight of us with our unique personalities, and we are happy to have them to love and care for us. Cooper took a big chill pill last night and was sprawled in the bed on his back like an upside down bearskin rug. Hope the moments of calm increase. Maybe the space aliens transported Simon’s brain up to The Mothership for a little while…that would explain the belly-up thing.

Now that is funny. We hope it is a sign of more to come with Simon. Perhaps we should send Marcus over to watch Simon. Perhaps he’ll learn something about being calm too.

Molly and my Mom @ The Fast and the Furriest

We’re certain all the kitties there truly appreciated the peace and quite that settled over Brother Simon. 😀 We’ll pray you get to see this more often then once every blue moon. 😀 We’re simply thankful that Molly has part of her vision back here….That’s a big deal as she’s such an active girl with her chasing squirrels and playing soccer. She was getting kind of depressed and confused before she got some of her eyesight back.

MOL! That’s so funny about Gracie and Kit looking at Simon as if to ask, “Is that the same cat?”

Well, every kitty needs to re-charge, right Brian?

Thank you for hosting, dear pals!
