Guess who? See I told you on Saturday that you would see me again really soon. Today is my Gotcha Day and believe me, I’m very thankful that a Gotcha happened when I needed it the most.
You see, back in 2011 I was a super happy girl living life with my original human Mom. They, all of a sudden, she wasn’t moving. She didn’t move for a couple of days. Then some strangers came in the house and they told me she had died. It was such a sad time for me. I ended up with a nice lady, but she couldn’t keep me because her husband got really sick and had to be in the hospital for a long, long time.
I ended up in a place called a shelter, but I hated it. I couldn’t stand being locked in a cage all day. I got super stressed and got one UTI after another. Nobody, and I mean nobody, wanted an older kitty. Then the rescue people contacted Brian to see if he could find me a home somewhere, anywhere. The stress of the shelter was about to do me in.
Brian tried and tried and, from what I hear, many of Brian’s friends jumped in to help find me a home. It just wasn’t there no matter how hard everyone tried. Brian tells me that the Dad grew very fond of me just from seeing my sweet face day after day on the blog. Then, all of a sudden I was back in a carrier headed somewhere else again. It turns out that somewhere else was here, my new forever home. I had been officially adopted by Brian and his family. A Gotcha Day is just the best.
When I got here I had my own private bedroom so I could get used to things without being in a cage. After a while I was introduced, slowly, to the others. Well, it turns out I don’t like other cats and I had probably never even seen another cat in the six years with my original Mom. That was a bit of an unusual problem. But the new Dad told me I was home and not to worry. That’s how I ended up with my own suite upstairs. The stairs are screened and the landing is gated to keep me and the others safe.
If you would like to read the original post about me you can find it HERE. I am so very thankful that I got a second chance and that I have a forever home that is forever. For my Gotcha Day please tell me what you are thankful for and then join us in our Blog Hop.

Happy Gotcha Day sweetie. We’re so happy you were adopted by Brian. They are so good with kitties and making their home adaptable to the kitty rather than vice versa! You couldn’t have a better home. We’re thankful you were gotted!
Read this with tears n my eyes. Is it THAT long since we scoured Twitter for a home for Precius, that people blogged and searched and searched? Oh my.

Hi Miss Precious! So nice to meet you & to find Brian’s blog! I’m so glad that you have each other! I was a rescue, too, & like you I was fortunate enough to eventually find a loving forever home. I wish that fur all kitty cats. I hope we can become good pals. I love the lady cats! Wink wink!
such a beautiful ending to what was sounding like a hard story. you got a lovely place now, yah!! Your story kind of reminds me of Marvin, who occupies his own private suite now too, cuz he doesn’t care for the other cats. Enjoy the gotcha day sweetie!
Happy Gotcha Day precious! so much fab events today… will you celebrate with Madi and Raz?
Precious, the Japanese have a saying about “having good luck within bad luck” and we think that is what happened to you. It must have been so sad to lose your original Mom and end up in a shelter but we know that you ended up in the best possible home, so this Gotcha Day is definitely something to celebrate! Happy!
Purrs,
The Chans

Dear Precious – HAPPY GOTCHA DAY….your story is one we read all too often – a cat who is confused when shuffled from here to there as situations change but just look how wonderfully well it all turned out! You have a SAFE and permanent home – that won’t change – and a family who LOVES you. I’m thankful for many things but one of them is that YOU are happy. Enjoy your special day with your VERY special family.
Love, Teddy (and Mom too!)

Happy Gotcha Day sweet beautiful Precious. I remember your home coming well and I remember when your Dad and others tried so hard to find you the home you needed. I am so happy you are there with your brothers and sisters even though you prefer your own suite. I remember all of your story well. Admiral was with us then. xxxooo
Happy Gotcha Day. So glad you have a wonderful home.
Happy Gotcha Day, Sister Precious! We remember your being gotted, after such a challenging time. It’s pretty cool to have your own suite, really. You’re blessed to have a wonderful home where the bipeds accept you just as you are and work around your needs. ♥
Sister Precious, we are thankful for you and that you found such a wonderful forever home. We are thankful we found our forever home, it’s scary not to have a home. And today in our post we are thankful for heartworm preventives our doggie Sister Tuiren had heartworms when she found our home and thankfully they have treatments for doggies, they don’t have a treatment for cats, and thankfully Tuiren survived the treatment, not all doggies do.
Happy Gotcha Day
Happy Gotcha Day! Can’t go wrong with your very own suite. Even if Simon does try to invade.
Your story made me cry, that is so sad that your original owner passed. I am glad you got such a loving forever home now though. Happy Gotcha Day!
Happy Gotcha Day, Sister Precious! Glad you found a great forever home after so many trials and tribulations.
Happy Happy Gotcha Day Sister Precious! I cannot believe it has been that long! I remember the day you arrived! You are a sweet and special girl, enjoy your day! xoxo
What a gorgeous face you have! And how lovely that you have a safe suite. Not all cats enjoy the company of other cats, it’s true. Popoki feels the same way, and she adores her little catified suite. Here’s hoping you have many more years with your loving family. You deserve it!
Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie

Precious, do you know that you have something in common with Duffy? His first mama died suddenly too and was discovered after a few days. LP went and got Duffy because his mama was her friend and she didn’t want him to end up in a shelter. Duffy has a few issues too on account like you, he was with his mama for a few days before she was discovered so that wouldn’t be easy for either one of you. We are happy that you ended up with such a loving family. Happy Gotcha Day sweetie 🙂 the critters in… Read more »
Precious, you and your entire family are lucky that Brian grew so fond of you and decided to welcome you to your new forever home. Not many kitties would be so lucky to get a spacious, private suite away from “strange” kitties.
A sad story with a happy ending!
You are so lucky, Precious, and so is your family. Happy Gotcha Day!
Happy Gotcha Day, Precious! I’m glad you got that second chance, too. And something I’m thankful for? Awesome people like your humans who care so wonderfully for cats.

Sweet Sister Precious we are truly thankful that you got such a wonderful forever home… It seems that we lucky ones truly do get blessed. We’re also very thankful that I got the home and hoomans I got. We don’t think many other peeps would have wanted to keep me and love me with all the health issues I have. Our prayer is that every pup and kitty get a wonderful caring forever home.
