Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: The Passion and Compassion of Real Heroes

Thankful Thursday Blog Hop - Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it!
Welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. If you’ve been to a BlogPaws Conference lately what I’m going to talk about won’t be new to you. But I know lots of my pals didn’t make it to BlogPaws this year, some have never gone, and some will likely never make it. Today this post is for all of you that have never been, but are always there in spirit.

What is a hero? What comes to mind? The short definition is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Yep, that sounds about right. In our world of pet blogging we often run into humans with a real passion. We also run into a sizeable number with true compassion. In our world of animals you put the two together and you’ll find our heroes.

At BlogPaws this year we were all fortunate enough to meet a gentleman named Eldad Hagar. I know, if you were at BlogPaws you’ve already got the tissues out. Eldad has a wonderful rescue organization called HopeForPaws.org. The rescues he does day in and day out are utterly wonderful, not to mention amazing.

I could go on and on about the work that he does, but instead I’m going to share 2 videos with you. I’ll tell you they’re not short videos, but you need to watch them and see a hero in action.

I’ve not gotten Eldad out of my brain since BlogPaws. If you’ve got a buck or two to spare, please send it his way at HopeForPaws.org. You can tell he’ll put every dollar to good use. I’m so very thankful that there are people out there like Eldad and I’m thankful you let me share his videos with you all.

Yes, he has cat and kitten rescue videos too. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Thankful Thursday Blog Hop

Anyone who rescues or adopts an animal is a hero in my book. He sounds like a star among them.

OMC! TW couldn’t watch those videos at the conference cos she was bawling too hard. Yes, he is a hero and so are his aides.

It’s wonderful that there are people who are committed to rescuing the homeless animals, caring for them, and finding them homes.

We are so sorry that our post went more than one in the linky. Can you possibly remove the excess? Thanks.

There are lots of people who do heroic acts at least once in their lives, but Eldad is one of those special ones who is a hero by nature.

you are totally right… the founder of this organization is a hero… you haven’t to be a mighty warrior or a super star to be a hero… if you have a heart and if you care for others you will be one…

He sounds like an amazing man. I didn’t watch the videos, I don’t want to cry. I will try to donate when I have some money, it seems like vet bills snatch up all mine.

P.S. Having watched both videos now and cried numerous tears, I can say I was extraordinarily touched. The crying puppies even roused Elsa, my puppy mill survivor and I had to assure her there was a happy ending on both vids. Thanks for sharing. What an amazing group!

The Mom here – what an amazing group of people and Eldad is certainly a hero!!! What an appropriate name for hime too – The Dad!!! I watched both videos and ended up having to put my laptop on the floor and get down with Misty and Lightning who were so focused on the screen – two dogs who do not watch TV for any more than a few seconds. Those puppy cries caught their attention immediately. We hope all the puppies and the Mom do well, and we really hope the other dog will be caught and helped. A… Read more »

Next time I go to BlogPaws, if I know they will be showing his videos, I’ll have a full box of tissues on hand. I wish I’d gotten the chance to meet him – he is a hero indeed. I am trying to remember to share his videos too, I’m so glad you did that here!

We are thankful for these people and all of those who work so hard to help dogs and cats in need and all of those who take in rescues and give them loving forever homes. There are no words to adequately describe those who go the extra mile to help. Hugs and nose kisses

Thank you for sharing that! I see you chose the epic puppy video too! Wasn’t that just heart wrenching?

The day I met Eldad, his assistant (Lisa) was on a long distance call working to save a dog with liver issues. (Eldad gave her his credit card).

Shortly after BlogPaws, I followed his trip back to South Carolina to rescue a dog with her paw caught in a trap. I’m waiting to see that video.

He really is a hero in a very flawed world.
