Yes, it’s Mancat Monday and I’m up here where it’s safe now and I’m pointing to the culprit, or maybe the culprits! You see, there I was lying on my catnip mat, minding my own business, I could have been at a BBQ. The Dad was outside delivering some food to our ferals, then it happened.
The Dad was coming inside and he, unintentionally I might add, brought in a visitor, a fly, a fast flying, low flying, high flying, super buzzing fly! I was still relaxing on my catnip mat. Brother Simon, however, was on routine hallway patrol. The fly gave him a fly-by and Brother Simon was off on the chase.
Yes, eventually the fly chase came to the living room. Was Brother Simon looking where he was going? Nope? Brian got ran over by a Simon! Does the word TRAMPOLINE sound familiar to any of you? You guessed it, Brother Simon hit my stretched out tummy with a big trampoline bounce and kept on chasing.
Well, that sure woke me up, quickly too! I couldn’t figure out what happened for a few second and then Brother Simon came hauling butt back through the living room. I guess I’m going to have to install some speed bumps. Oh, wait a minute, maybe I was the speed bump!
Have a fun week everyone! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
What can I say, Brian? Flies can make a young cat go crazy! Moths too.
Oh no, Brian, he did not jump on your tummy. Ouch. That Simon is one silly boy but it is great fun to chase after flies. Hope he caught that fly. You all have a great day.
The Fly !!! Like Miss Summer said, Fly drove me nut too when I was young. I was chased one of them. He stopped at the window, me jumped high. Grabbed it with two front paws. I didn’t get it but my mom’s new sheer curtain…oops ! =^x^=
Our mom found a dead fly on the bedroom window ledge yesterday. We aren’t talking as to who took it out!
wow you have a super active brother… but I understand him… if there is a fly in the house the hunt is on…;o)
Simon! Trust me, I have done things like that but it was Mom who was my personal trampoline! She was not happy as we were last to lights out time. I saw something dare to be on the ceiling. Mom’s eyes HAD been closed but not after I launched.
oh Brian you poor baby!!! Brother Simon is no light weight so that must have hurt! (((hugs)))
Wow, Brian! That is some way to wake up! Well, Simon is still a baby, albeit a rather large one!
Purrs,
The Chans
That’s hilarious.
Oh, we LOVE those kinds of flying toys in the house, and we chase them and chase them. Brian, we have to admit our Mom laughed a little, under her breath, thinking of you as a speed bump. We’d never think of you that way. That Simon, well, he sounds like he was just going crazy for a minute or two!
Grizelda eats fly, if she catches them! George loves to chase them, play with them, and try to fly! Ha!
Poor Brian, used as a trampoline!
haha if it is one thing we should never aspire to be, it’s a speed bump.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Brian send it up here mom is the ultimate fly catcher and smasher. She does not like them one iota. Her Annie Ma taught her early that before a fly landed on your food, glass etc it had probably been sitting on something horrid and they must be destroyed ASAP!!
Hugs madi your bfff
Our humans hate when flies come into the house; we love it, we love chasing it.
Bran, it definitely sounds as if you were the speed bump. If that has happened to any of us, Mom doesn’t know about. Astrid, our fly catcher and zoomer, has been known to hurdle us with ease. Maybe Simon will learn that eventually. Te big question plaguing all of us: Did Simon catch the fly? XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Lisbeth, Astrid, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
Poor Brian ! Flies make us lose our mind ! Purrs
dood…..tell dad ta watch de moovee de fly; { de original } pluz therz like parts two N three……..due knot tell him WHY, just tell him ta DUE !!!
🙂 ♥♥♥
That was a rude awakening. We get too many flies here in hot weather because of the horses. Eric and Flynn used to catch and eat them when they were younger.
Mee-yow Brian dude you WERE thee ‘speed bump’…OUCHIE!! Mee finkss it iss best yur uppy inn thee Kat bed safe an sound! Mee chasess them loud buzzy fliess all so….they make mee ‘crazypants’!!! 😉
**nose bumpsss** Siddhartha Henry =^,.^=
We do understand, Brian. Misty spotted a fly in here last night and almost took out the TV trying to get it:) Those young uns.
Woos – Lightning and Misty
Mosca é sinônimo de diversão! Miauhihi
Espero que Simon tenha conseguido agarrar aquela mosca.
CHIQUINHA
Oh noooo….I know how you feel Brian..when Arty sees a birdy outside he will run over any pup who gets in his way!!
xoxo
Jakey
Brian, you poor guy! You should have taught that little one a lesson by catching the fly for yourself!
That’s a funny story!
Flies can be very annoying.
Well, that is not fair. Your tummy is not a trampoline. I think a written apology is needed
Ouch! Your poor tummy Brian.
sorry, Brian, but we gotta laugh 😀 we use our momma’s tummy as a trampoline when we do zoomies across the bed 😀
sharpie, ditto
About once every few years, we have a fly attack indoors. No idea why. Just suddenly there are a dozen for a day. We have the GRANDEST time catching them. We wish it would happen more often. TBT does not.
My cat bro Bert attacked the TV hanging on the wall because of a fly. I know how nuts they can make cats!
Speed bumps sound like a good idea!!
When I first started reading, I was going to say that Samantha could use a Brother Simon, since she has flies bugging her but she cannot see them well enough to get them. But I don’t think she would appreciate being a speed bump! MOL
Yeah, but did he catch the fly?
