Hello everyone, it’s Mancat Monday, are you ready for a fun week? I might be, but I think I need a nice long snoozy. Right now though I’m almost too tired for a nap. Okay, okay, not really, but I am a wee bit tired because I was up most of the night.
Oh, why was I up all night? I was on WatchCat duty. I know the others will help me but I felt it was my responsibility to be on the lookout. Front door, back door, side windows, all areas needed checking. Why? Of course you’re probably wondering why. There have been quite a few coyote sightings in and around our neighborhood. One of our neighbors let her cat out in the backyard and it was killed, most likely by coyotes. Humans have spotted them around the roads next to our neighborhood and in and around a neighborhood next to ours.
So, I was doing my best to keep an eye out for my feral friends outside. I know there is probably nothing I can do, but I can sure alert the Dad, who would most likely give them one heck of a greeting. We’ve lit the back deck and the backyard and there isn’t any feral food out after dark. We’re hopeful that will help make our area unattractive to them. I’ll be having a week long WatchCat training session for everyone else throughout the week.
I hope you all have a fun, fun week and have a nap for me! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Uff. Good you were on watch – that sounds like a very dagerous job!
How scary! We have coyotes here – they are native to our area. So my human is very careful about the times of day she lets me and Binga out on our leashes. They are very brave here – they have actually snatched small dogs and cats from people’s yards, or stalked dogs while they were being walked.
Oh that is pretty scary. Glad you are looking out for all of your family Brian. We sure hope none come up in your yard. Good luck to you. Have a great day.
Glad your on watch duty. Have a great week.
Coyotes sure aren’t fun to deal with indeed. They used to be in our old area but thankfully moved on. Hopefully all the ferals remain safe.
Yikes, coyotes! Sorry to hear about that. Coyotes are part of the reason we have our Millie. The area where the feral Mom had her liter is far enough from the city that coyotes are sometimes seen there. When the mother was not seen for a while, the property owner took the litter inside. They all survived…the litter, that is…I guess the mother was not seen again.
Morning to you my handsome Man-Cat friend.
Dear Brian and peeps we wanted to let you know Raz’ dad is very very very sick in ICU if you could send up some extra purrs it would be appreciated too and we have a post https://blogvillepotp.blogspot.com/

that is super scary. Your Dad is smart. I am certain that with all of the precautions he has taken all will be ok!
OH Brian. I absolutely hate that you all and especially the ferals have to worry about the coyotes. It is so awful when they invade like that.
Ooh, so sorry for the neighbors whise cat was killed; very sad. Keep up the patrols, Brian, and make sure the others pull their weight too. A friend like you is invaluable to the ferals.
JUst remember, coyotes are doing what they are created to do, just as we all have a purpose. We have to find ways to coexist, to keep the natural balance. It is good that you and your folks are aware and trying to keep those who need it safe.
Oh no, feral kitties are most vulnerable with coyotes and mountain lions (in this part of the country). You did a mighty fine job.
Little one, get some shut eye! You gotta get some beauty rest to be that handsome mancat that you are <3

Brian, you are such a good cat to keep an eye out like that for the ferals. Hopefully you can catch up on your snoozing during the day!
I’m sure you’re doing a fantastic job watching out for coyotes. We have them here too (we life just a block from a river) and we’ve heard that some of the outdoor cats go “missing” every now and then. Be sure to take some long naps during the daytime so you can keep up your vigilance and alert your Dad if you see an unwanted intruder.
oh I hope they are ok! Good for you to look out for them!
Brian, you and your dad have come up with some good ideas to keep the coyotes away. I hope they’ll soon move away again from your neighborhood.
*shivers* That’s so scary! It’s a good thing the ferals have you to watch out for them!
Oh Brian, dat’s just pawful ’bout your neighbors kitty. We hate it when peeps let their kitties outside. We’re purrayin’ fur all da ferals and hope they all stay safe and away from da coyotes. big hugs
Luv ya’

Coyotes, wow. That would make most animals nervous, I’m sure.
Coyotes are awful creatures. We can hear them yip some nights when we have the windows open and it is eerie.
We have coyotes around here too, Brian. We can’t say that we’ve seen any but the township people tell everyone to make sure they keep their small pets inside or outside supervised.
Whoa! Too scary! I hope your ferals will be safe. Every once in awhile they’ll be talk about 1 in our county or NYC.
Brian, we’ve never heard of being too tired for a nap 😀 that is so sad about your neighbor’s cat. last weekend our mom saw a coyote crossing the road just outside of our town. we know they are about in the fields around our neighborhood but we don’t know that they’d ever come into it. train up Simon to help you with your patrols 🙂 we hope your feral family stays safe. purrs,
pip, smidgen, minnie, hollie, sharpie, ditto, TL
I feel better with you on the watch. You should be given a bell to ring if you see a coyote.
We are so glad to hear you are keeping a lookout for coyotes, Brian. We hear they can be really dangerous for small animals!
xoxo

Brian, this is so terrifying for your feral friends. We are all praying that those coyotes stay far from your home. Good idea about not leaving food out at night. Keep up those watch cat duties.
