Disclosure: I am not being compensated for this post. This device is one we own and we just wanted to share some videos with you.
As you know, or most of you do, we’ve got a pretty nice family of ferals that we care for on a daily basis. They, for the most part, are TNR Graduates and are somewhat used to their daily routines. We do like to keep tabs on them and are always looking for ways to do that better.
Probably most of you have seen the commercials for the Ring Doorbell, if not you probably will. They make a doorbell that’s also a wifi video camera so that you can keep tabs on who is at your door anytime from anywhere. Well, they also make a camera called the Stick Up Cam. It’s battery operated, has a Live View and also provides 30 second video clips when motion is detected. Yes, it also sends notifications to your smart phone when there is motion so you know when to look. It’s been most useful when there is a bit of a spat so the peeps know when to go break it up. It’s also been good to know when unauthorized wildlife wants to have some of the feral food before it gets picked up for the night.
The battery lasts us a little over a month before recharging. Also, while it’s not waterproof it is water resistant and we’ve got it mounted where it won’t get a direct soaking from any rain or storms.
Here’s a few of our feral videos for you:
We’re thankful to have another way to keep track of the comings and goings of our feral family. What are you thankful for today? Tell us in the comments and join our Blog Hop and tell everyone.
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
That’s pretty neat!! And a wonderful way to keep track of your feral family . . . it would even be useful to document if someone had been hurt somehow and needed you help! Very cool 😀
the critters in the cottage xo
How cool is that? It is great being able to see them. They all seemed to be very friendly to one another.
Yael from Playing In Catnip
That seems like a good idea with all those critters. I’m thankful I still have my cousin’s cat (had him since April). He still surprises me and makes me laugh every day.
OMC how I loved these!! I love how in each video the tails are waaaay up in the air! They are so happy!
Me too Caren. That was precious!
After I type this comment, I’m off to price out one of those! I did NOT know about your colony; cannot wait to hear more! You and I have similar cat families; inside and outside!
How cool is THIS. Oh my Brian. I love seeing the ferals on the video * melts *
We joined the hop this week too.
That is so, so cool, Brian! The stick up cam really does let you see what’s going on out there with your awesome feral family. 🙂
Great picture of you chillaxing, too!
They are all so cute, I wish I could adopt them all. The black one in the second video looks like my Angel Spooky and even walks like he did.
We are thankful for people like you that take such good care of the feral kitties
How cool to be able to check up on your ferals! We have a few Ring Stick Up cams around our house, and they often capture the neighborhood strays. Also a few skunks, raccoons… and at least twice, bobcats!
How cool! I adore how the one black kitty walked under the tabby in the second video! They are obviously very close! So cute!
that is a super idea… and I loved it to watch the videos… the mama wants one… now… immeowdiately! thanks for a super review and for sharing a fabulous invention!!!
Oh, Brian, the ferals are really cute and with your camera, we can see them too. Loved it! Pawkisses for a Happy Thankful Day 🙂 <3
Psst – I’ve nominated you for a blogger award because you and your blog posts are so purrtastic 😉
Check it out here – https://kittyclysm.com/blogger-recognition-award/
Thank you so much for being such a welcoming & caring part of our community!
xoxo Elise
This is really cool! I’m going to share it with another friend who cares for ferals. 🙂
What a great idea! I wish we had that when we were taking care of feral kitty Winston!
That is such a great idea. And what a lot of fun to see the ferals. But the best part is to keep the other animals out of there so they don’t chase the ferals away. This is such a great idea and it was great fun watching the videos. You all have a super day.
What a great idea, and so lovely to see your feral family. The black cat in the second video made me laugh when he walked under the tabby.
This is so great! Not only do these cute kitties have somewhere they can get food, shelter, and care, but you monitor them as well! These kitties are so lucky to have you.
That is a great idea indeed, can chase the pesky raccoons away. They all sure look like happy campers too, the first was a little like wtf is this haha
This is awesome. You guys rock. XO
That is a great device…cute videos!
You are so good to those ferals. They all look like they are doing well. Mom wants to get one of those ring doorbells or something like it. We think she just wants to spy on what we are doing outside:)
Woos – Lightning and Misty
Now, that is just cool. The ferals all look good and look right at home. Thank you for all you do for them. Mumsy saw a couple of commercials for the Ring and wondered if they work well…we can see that they do. We really enjoyed the videos sweet Brian. We love your tummy up photo and that sweet face of yours. Hugs and nose kisses

What wonderful videos..and everyone seems to get along purrfectly too.
We are thankful those feral kitties have a loving and safe place to live
Hugs madi your bfff
They sure look like they are enjoying things on the porch. We are thankful for family who care for each other
If those kitties knew you were filming them, boy would they be mad! Cool idea!
I loved seeing each video. I wondered of Marg noticed those two whose tails were intertwined several times. Just as two of hers did some years ago. I would love a stick up camera. I wonder how much they are and where? I can’t have a Ring one as there is no doorbell here except a wind one.
The intertwined tails were in the second video along with the black cat going under the other cat. They are apparently littermates.
And Brian, nite nite precious boy and love you.
GRATE videoss Brian!!!
Mee iss grateful our Fone/Inntynet iss back werkin as wee been offline an AWOL since sup-purr last nite!!!
That one dark slinky kat looks a lot like mee, mew mew mew….
LadyMum sayss thee ferst kitty should bee named Cameeo because kitty likess thee cammyra!
Siddhartha Henry =^,.^=
I love the videos and that device does sound like it would come in handy.
That would be useful, just to keep an eye out for intruders!
That’s so cool to be able to keep track of the ferals ! Great videos ! Purrs
That’s a GREAT help in knowing what’s going on in with the outside kitties! Love it!
Hugs, Teddy
We love the movies of your ferals. We’ve seen the doorbell cams advertised, but we’d never heard about those stick up cams. We could sure use one for the wildlife marauders at our house. Mom says she’s going to look into it. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
OMC, your little group of feral kidlets is completely squee-worthy! What a neat idea to have their movements recorded. They all look so happy.
You guys are so awesome to take such good care of your ferals. Some of them look very young! Isn’t technology wonderful and useful in so many ways we never even thought of!
What a sweet feral family. Thank you for taking such great care of them!
Those cameras are very cool, but a bit pricey for me.
What a pawsome way to keep track of the ferals. We’ve never heard of this but are going to google it and check it out.
That is cool. We would only see a bunch of old people walking around.
What a great invention PLUS it takes clear video. They’ve been putting cameras up all around our community cos the humans are throwing cigarettes out the windows and in the stairwells. Cats are better than humans.
Brian, your feral family are a bunch of cuties! the camera looks like it would be a great help in TNR. we’ll have to look into it more too cause it could help our mom for checking up on a feral colony at her workplace.
pip, smidgen, minnie, hollie, sharpie, ditto, TL
What a great way to keep tabs on your “extended family”!
We are thankful for your family for all they do!!
xoxo
Arty & Jakey
They are so happy and confident ! Good for you for taking care of them !
