Hello everyone and welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. Even though we’re all thankful for so many things each and every day, every Thursday we get to share what we’re thankful for and we love it when you join us. A Blog Hop is much more fun when more of you hop along with us!
We’ve been on a journey with Gracie and her weight loss challenges and one of the things we’re doing is trying healthier foods to see if they can impact the diet situation. I do believe there is lots to be said for higher quality foods without the added fillers and ingredients we can’t begin to pronounce. Hey, why not, we’ve tried most everything else.
Even though this isn’t a sponsored post, I am not going to mention specific brands so there won’t be any FTC disclosure issues. Let’s just say we’ve tried lots. I think some peeps call this a rotation diet since we rotate though a variety of foods. Well, that’s good and bad at the same time. Some of the foods we’ve really liked, some of the others not so much. But we’re good sports about it and let the Dad know pretty quickly which ones get a paws up and which ones get a paws down. Sometimes, as I’m sure you can predict, half of us like one a lot and the other half won’t touch it. Wait, half of nine kitties? Well, I’m talking about us eight downstairs kitties. Sister Precious lives upstairs and she eats a duck pate food exclusively.
Purrsonally it is a fun journey and I like trying the new foods, even the ones I don’t eat much of, it’s fun trying them. I’m thankful for so many high quality options with a high yum factor. I say bring on the next one, I’m ready!
What are you thankful for today? Tell me in the comments and join us for our Blog Hop and share with others. Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
Brian,
We are lucky to have more food choices than ever before! We crazy-about-cats humans just cannot stomach the thought of feeding our furry friends anything that would make them sick sometime down the road. Better food often means less intake, but there is that transition period!
Hugs and smooches!
That rotation diet sounds like a big and fun adventure every day, Brian. 🙂
We’re thankful this week for our sweet Gracie and Zoe.
I have to eat the same food every day because of my tummy. I think I would like a rotation diet. I am thankful for my mom’s lap where am sitting now
Hey, variety is the spice of life, right?
on that’s like living in a 5 paws howltel…where you can pick your food from a fab menu list ;o)
Trying lots of different foods can be fun 🙂
We have some new foods and we all like it so we are thankful for that.

Our #1 tries to vary our food quite a bit and she also tries to make sure we get really good quality stuff. In fact, she says we eat better than her!
Purrs,

Trying new food can be fun, but sometimes not so much. We are thankful for this cooler weather this week!
Well that sounds like fun to try all kinds of foods. I bet there are lots of different opinions. Hope you find the right one for Gracie. You all have a super day.
Miss Gracie, I like your new menu =^x^=
Finding the right foodables is a HUGE project. I myself am not a big fan of wet food but my Mom keeps up the experimenting because she WANTS me to eat wet instead of dry. I’m being a little bit stubborn about it but I guess sooner or later we’ll figure out SOMETHING I find acceptable. We aren’t being picky – – – we just want to ENJOY EATING!
Hugs, Teddy
Hey Brian, oh wow finding the right eating plan really does take some time, we are lucky to get a lot of variety in our menu, though the P.A. said she would like us to transition to dry food, but dude let me tell mew, that ain’t happening anytime soon!!! MOL MOL

High quality sure helps us out. But we tend to stick our nose up at most. So stick with the main choices here.
I am glad you are all getting high quality food. Thanks for hosting.
Your food journey sounds like lots of fun, Brian! I bet you all love all those taste tests. Yum! You know, one certain kitty over here (ahem, Eddy, ahem) will only eat one type of food, and that’s the dry food she first started eating when she was adopted. She won’t eat moist food, she won’t eat treats, she won’t eat human food, she won’t eat any other kind of dry food but that one. Sounds like a boring diet to the rest of us here, but apparently she’s okay with that. Purrs!
One of the things I’m thankful for is that our cats readily eat the food we give them!
Cute photo of you, Brian.
Diet rotation is a wonderful idea. Mommy duz this for me becuz I is finicky. What I loves in the morning I hates at night. At least she gets me the good stuff that is grain free and low carb.
Zoe and Raja from Playing In Catnip
Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red love most foods – until we have a 24 can case shipped to the house… then not so much.
Diet Rotation is the way to go!
Thankful for:
Our healthy dear cats at home and 60 adoptions of cats and kittens at PAWS in July!
xxoo
That sounds like a delicious treat to have all kinds of different food. Right now our mom is trying to find something that Caroline will eat consistently, otherwise, Izzy the Chub thinks all rejected foods are his. And cod knows he does not need any more food!!
Sounds like rotation seems to be the way to go, hope everyone agrees on a favorite one day!!

Keep on trying and you’ll find what works best when it comes to food. Hope you’re all well.
Variety is the spice of life, or say they say, right, Brian? Our Sam, however, is of the less adventurous sort though, and likes to stick to one food for a while. Then one day she decides she’s had enough of that, and it’s on to something else! We try to stick to more premium foods though, we agree they are healthier. Keep enjoying your adventure!
Sounds purretty yummy ’round your house Brian. We don’t like pate, but we do luv us some duck. Seems Precious may be eatin’ da bestest noms. MOL We’re fankful to have ya’ll as our furiends. Big hugs
Luv ya’

I keep thinking Dexter has a beer belly but he seems fit when he stands up. It’s funny how different he looks in different photos and I’ve taken many. I can’t really do anything though since I’m taking care of him for my cousin. Although I’ve been taking care of him since April and worry about things like having a trusted vet for emergencies and possible general check-ups.
Good post. I like blog hopping too.

precious…we did knot knead ta heer that ~~~

You are so right. There are so many good food choices out there. We eat a very high quality kibble as the base of our food. It took Mom a long time to find one that worked well for Ciara. Lightning enjoyed it too, and so now Misty gets it as well. She came to us on an amazing formula of kibble, but it was even more pricey than what we get. Mom figured what we were buying was doing well so why change? We mix it up a bit with different brands and flavors of canned food. It isn’t… Read more »
Really good food is a big investment, but you save money in the long run because you are healthier! Good for you kitties!
I am grateful to be in here with Mom. And I am grateful for my CB family. Life has been very good to me. XXX
Brian mom and I just want to put kisses on your sweet nose…what a precious photo.
Hugs madi your bfff
We’ve been trying a lot of different brands of dog food with out dog because he’s so darn picky.
We are thankful for our Dad who gives us great tasting noms and for all our friends
Thanks Brian
Timmy
I am glad you all are enjoying a rotation diet. I had problems finding food that Flynn would eat, and had probably about 15 different varieties in the house. Eric was never a problem. He inhaled everything.
I am thankful for friends and the fact that Mom put the “treat dust” in my food before washing the treat jar and refilling it as it was almost empty. – Abby T. Lab

We hope you guys find a food you all like. Here, we all seem to eat something different because none of us can agree on the same food.
Mom Paula feeds us a variety of brands and flavors. Some, we love and others, not so much. We have a lot of food to donate lately!
WE MADE IT!!!
We look forward to hearing about your food hourney. We actually made Dot lose weight by taking up the snack treats they like!! Amazing!
There are lots of yummy foods available, across the whole range of qualities. It’s good to have choices. I’m stuck with my two allergy-approved flavors.
It sounds like fun to get to try different high quality foods. I can see why you’re thankful, Brian. You have such loving and giving parents.
You all are being better sports than we would be about foodable changes. We are hoping you hit on the magic combo tat helps Gracie lose weight. We are all thankful to have a loving home! XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo and Cooper Murphy
Being a blogging kitty, I eat much better now then ever before even though I still love FF. TW grimaces when she thinks of the junk she fed the cats that came before me. No wonder Chizzy didn’t live to see his 7th birthday.
