Thankful Thursday Blog Hop: Messages from the Rainbow Bridge

thankful thursday blog hop - Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it! Hello everyone and welcome to our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.  There has been so much going on this week, not the least of which is the devastation from Hurricane Harvey in Texas.  We want to keep everyone, human and pets, in our thoughts and prayers.   Their recovery will be a long and difficult one and we’re thankful so many are jumping in to provide assistance, including our own special pal Marjorie from DashKitten.com who is organizing an auction to raise funds for Austin Pets Alive.

But today I’m also thankful for messages from the Rainbow Bridge.  Our newer followers might not realize that I had a most wonderful Brother when I came here, his name was Ivan.  Ivan was 4 years old when he ran off to the Rainbow Bridge in the middle of the night just 3 days before Thanksgiving in 2009.  We were all devastated, especially the Dad, Ivan was his super buddy.  Every time the Dad got out of the shower Brother Ivan would dry Dad’s leg for him, mostly in one specific spot.  He did it so often the Dad doesn’t have hair on that spot any longer.

Last week the Dad got out of the shower and Brother Simon started drying Dad’s leg, in that exact spot.  The Dad knew immediately that Brother Simon was sending a message from Angel Ivan.  The next day the same thing happened.  The Dad gave Brother Simon a big hug and thanked him for passing on such an important message, clearly a message from Brother Ivan.  The Dad asked Brother Simon to tell Angel Ivan that we love him, miss him, and think of him each and every day.  I’m thankful the loving message got through and when Dad told me about it I just had to purr.

You just never know when an important message will come through.  Are you listening for yours?  What are you thankful for today?  Tell me in the comments and then hop on in and join us for our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, we’d love it!

Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

We are worried about the Beins and pets in Texas. We know the Beins are pretty good at saving themselves and others and that is good. And we have seen lots of pets also bein saved as well. But some pets (naturally) hid and couldnt be found when the Beins had to leave. Some paddled away, some climbed trees, some stayed above the water in houses, some went over The Bridge before their time. We thank the Beins who went to great effort to save the Beins and the pets too. Many stayed with their Beins, but some are lost.… Read more »

Ivan and Simon … brothers in spirit and love. Such a beautiful story … and yes … special messages often come, when least expected and we need to have the eyes to see them, the ears to hear them and the heart to accept them.

That story brought tears to my eyes! It is so wonderful when a message comes from the Bridge through our current pets. We have to remember to always keep our hearts open and be on the lookout for them. ♥

Hi Brian, I want yo remember cat who died on 9-11-2015. Her name was Tigger and she was a rescue cat. I don’t know when she was born but I know when she died. This post was sad. I want to remember my cat and all those other cats that have passed away. Thanks Brian.

Brian, we had no idea that Ivan was so young when he got his wings. That is so difficult for our humans to lose beloved anipals at such a young age. We love that Angel Ivan sent a message to Brother Simon to let your dad know that he is around and watching over all of you. On Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, Mom was sitting at the kitchen island when she felt our angel brother, Madison, looking over her shoulder. We hope Simon keeps reminding Dad Terry everyday that Ivan is with you. Thanks for hosting the blog hop each… Read more »

I’m thankful for the cooler weather and still having little Dexter as a house guest. I’m afraid he’ll have to leave next month but am determined to appreciate the time we have. That is such a sweet story and a true pair of loving cats considering their attitude about water.

That is a sweet story about your brofur Somon relaying a message to your papa from Ivan. Mom is thankful for all the animals that came into her life over the years, especially the ones that became family members. She misses them dearly each and every day as your papa does his Ivan. Mom keeps photos of her “fur babies” on her dresser always.

What a precious gift that was from Angel Ivan courtesy of Brother Simon……those things are certainly wonderful moments and just reaffirm what we knew – they may leave us but they are never really “GONE”……little subtle signs and messages make us know that not only do we love THEM forever, but they continue to love US forever. It’s wonderful isn’t it?
