Dad Terry here: Thank you all for your messages about Precious, Gracie and Sascha. I wanted to wait for the external blood work to come back before posting an health update, so here we go.
Precious:
Dear Precious is still with us. She has hyperthyroid, which given her symptoms would seem to answer a lot. The last time she had her blood work done it didn’t show that at all, which really surprised our Vet, she would have bet anything she was hyperthyroid. Given her advanced age we’ve opted for treatment with medicine, Felimazole, and we’ll have her blood work rechecked in a month. She is also on a special diet, which surprisingly she totally loves, so that’s good.
Gracie:
Gracie is on antibiotics for a UTI. Her blood work showed an increase in liver enzymes, which can often be a secondary affect of the prednisolone she takes for her asthma. Hopefully the bloody pee situation will resolve with the antibiotics. She will also have her blood work redone to check her liver enzymes in a month. If there is an increase the poor girl may need to have an ultrasound.
Sascha:
This poor girl has something mouth related going on although our Vet could not see anything obvious. We will be taking her to our specialty Dental Vet as soon as we can arrange an appointment. Hopefully it is just something with her teeth. She has lost 1-1/2 pounds in the last month as she seems to have difficulty eating.

Thank you for the update on the sweet Sisters. We hope the meds will help them al a lot so they are doing much better soon, and that Sister Sashcha’s mouth problem can be determined and addressed positively. It must be such a worry to have so many health issues, but you are always so good to take good care of everyone. POTP to all.

I haven’t been keeping up much lately and am sorry to hear those three lovely ladies haven’t been doing so well. I hope Precious is soon doing much better with the thyroid medication.
When Flynn first started to lose weight his blood test didn’t show thyroid problems either. It only showed up the second time .
I hope Gracie and Sascha are soon improving too.
Good that answers are coming and things can hopefully improve for Gracie and Precious. Now if the dentist can figure out Sascha’s teeth, you all can be on the road to recovery.
Managing various condition sin a multi-cat household is always difficult. All these girls are just lucky to have such wonderful care in the hands of such loving humans.

We were very worried about these girls so we’re glad to hear this update. Hyperthyroidism is easily treated…so we hope Precious does well on the new food and medication. Purrs that Gracie’s UTI clears up as well. And we hope you can get to the bottom of Sascha’s mouth issue. Sending lots of purrs to all of you.

I admit to being very relieved to hear about Precious. I sure hope that with this treatment plan of medicine and diet, you see improvement in her blood values, and more importantly, her well-being. I hope Gracie’s UTI clears up and the liver enzymes go back down. Lastly, I hope Sascha’s dental vet finds the problem and resolves it quickly!
