Sister Sascha Update 6

Hello everyone, Dad Terry here. Finally I get to share some good news. Sascha is home, she came home from the hospital this afternoon. As you may recall, one of the primary issues she has been dealing with is her white cell count, which was almost nonexistent. The normal white cell range for a cat ranges between 5000 and 20,000 and hers was in the 200 range. She has been, as I think I mentioned, on IV Steroid therapy for several days. Today her reading was 7000+, which is wonderful. Is she out of the woods? No, but at least something positive is happening. This number needs to stabilize over the next couple of weeks and then, perhaps, we can look at her dental issue again. Her temperature has also been in the good range.

The other news is that Simon and Seal have been evicted from the master bedroom where they spend nights sleeping with me. This has come to a bit of a shock to them but we need to sequester Sascha so we can monitor her eating and litter box habits. I’m sure they will adjust fine and when you read Sister Seal’s post tomorrow you’ll know that she didn’t have any idea this was coming.

Thank you for all your continued purrs, prayers, well wishes and POTP, and please keep them coming. We love you all.

I’m glad Sacha’s home from the hospital and doing better. Sorry Simon and Seal were evicted from the master bedroom but surely understand if they want Sister Sacha to get better then sometimes they have to make sacrifices. Once Sacha’s better they can go back into the master bedroom with-right? Hope Sacha’s completely better real soon. Sending purrs and prayers to you and Sister Sacha.

I’m so glad to hear that Sascha is home. I really hope she continues to improve. I hope it can be understood what caused this, but if not, let’s hope it never happens again. Hopefully, Simon and Seal will be able to come back in the bedroom soon. It makes good sense to monitor Sasha’s eating and litter box.

So happy about your news! That’s exactly what they did for our dog about 20 yrs ago when his WBC count was even lower than Sascha’s! I hope that it stabilizes and this is the start of a happy period!

We are sure she is LOVING being in her own beddie, with her own food, and most of all, her own Humans to provide the kind of pets and love only they can. The evictees will understand their ouster was for a good cause!

That is wonderful news, and I hope things keep on the up! Well I’m sure Sister Seal and Brother Simon won’t mind too much as there will be lots of things to explore over night and Sister Sascha does need that room more than they do.
