Mancat Monday: When Good Appliances Go Bad or How to Stress a Human

mancat monday brian 11272017 - Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it!Hello everyone, thanks for coming by to see me on Mancat Monday. I’ve got to say though, I’m a bit tired.  It was quite the weekend and our Christmas decorating didn’t quite go as planned.  Oh, there are all those boxes out but the decorating isn’t really done and the Christmas Tree isn’t finished getting all decked out either.

Actually, all the craziness started on November 15th when the peep woke up to find that our refrigeration had up and quit.  It really wasn’t on break, it retired completely.  So, all of the food in the refrigerator and all of the food and goodies in the freezer had to be tossed out.  The Mom and Dad didn’t seem like they were having fun at all.

Then, the Mom went and adopted a new refrigerator and it was delivered that same day.  Oh my goodness, strange humans in the house, furniture being moved, it was pretty upsetting to all of us and Brother Simon and Sister Seal were really scared.  Finally, the quiet returned and most everything was normal.  But, the new refrigerator was pretty shiny and Sister Seal was really scared of the kitty she saw in the new refrigerator and didn’t go in the kitchen for a full day.  I kept telling her it was her reflection but she wasn’t buying it, she new there was a cat in there.

So, finally the normal returned and we could get on with decorating for Christmas, right?  Not!!!  Friday evening, sometime during the night, the new refrigerator up and quit.  Seriously, it was 54 degrees inside and overnight everything in that box was ruined.  All of the leftover goodies from Thanksgiving had to be thrown out all with most all of the new food stuffs the Mom bought to restock the refrigerator.

That, my friends, is how you stress a human, and boy were they stressed.  Well, another new refrigerator arrived to replace the defective one and noisy humans were here once again and the furniture was moved again and we had to go into hiding again.  That’s how we managed to get behind on the Christmas decorating thing, but the peeps say it might not be too much longer.  Sounds like fun doesn’t it???

Oh, I’m going to finish my snoozy now and y’all have a terrific week.  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

That is odd that the new fridge would go so quickly. You need an electrician to make sure there isn’t a problem causing them to short out.

OMC, your poor mom and dad! Our mom lives in practically mortal fear of our refrigerator taking a powder, so she totally feels their stress! And then to have it happen again! Eeek! She faints in sympathy.

Hopefully all things will stay normal and you all can help with the important stuff–decorating with those special cat toys!

OMC YOUR POOR HUMANS!! That is AWFUL!! Those peeps on the fridge you bought should have paid you for all of your ruined groceries! I sure hope they did! Hoping the 2nd new one works like a champ and that Sister Seal doesn’t see another kitty on that fridge looking back at her!

Wow! Two refrigerators quitting in such a short time would stress our #1 too! We hope that that is that for refrigeration issues at your end, and you can now concentrate on important things like Christmas decorations.

maybe that was the fridge from Mr. Kings story? I hope the second one will be a trooper and it is with you for 87 years or longer… btw: our christmas decoration plan failed too… the mama hurt her paw and while howling for hours it became dark outside… bet tomorrow in the morning the whole village gets laughing fits for our wild night-work decoration ;O)

That’s simply rotten, dumb luck to have two fridges freak out like that! And to lose food too…makes humans very cranky! Fingers are crossed that the new new fridge lasts for years, not days!

Oh Gosh – what a hassle ! A fridge is one of the appliances that usually doesn’t warn you it’s going (no funny noises ) and can cause some real damage when it goes (if the washer conks out you will find the problem fairly quickly with no harm done.) Though one of my friends had the same thing happen last summer and the NEW one didn’t shut off the water to the icemaker. I hope you get all settled in and can enjoy the rest of the upcoming noms !

That is just crazy insane. How could two refrigerators die so closely together. We hope the newest one behaves and keeps the goods at the proper temp for a very long time. AND that life gets back to normal quickly for all.

NOOOOO! No leftover turkey?? What a horror story. You need to tell your mom and dad they need to pay the refrigerator more so they won’t quit after a few days. On our floor we had a bunch of CO scares over the weekend.

OMC! What a pain! And all that food going to waste. We bet the whipped cream got thrown out, right? What a travesty! We hope this newest fridge doesn’t quit on you.

Foley Monster, Pocket and River Song

I am so sorry that your family had to go through all of that. It must have been terrible. I know how scary it is to have people in and out of the house. And your own reflection can be terrifying. I hope your parents get some monetary relief because of the lost food.

You deserve a nap after that! Mom’s friend had that happen with 2 freezers this last 2 weeks. THEN the washer AND dishwasher both died this weekend. Her friend is afraid to ask “what next”!

That is the worst luck ever! I hope that the new new refrigerator works for longer than the new one! And maybe this new new one doesn’t have a kitty staring out at you.
