Welcome to a special T.G.I.F. in honor of Friday and in honor of me! Yes, It’s my 9th Gotcha Day!!! I can tell you first paw, something you already know, that Gotcha Days are just the best. Every critter deserves the happy that comes with a Gotcha Day.
Since I always have new readers, let me first tell you that my Gotcha didn’t start out being a happy one. Before I came here I was adopted by another family and they were very mean to me. Thank goodness that my adoption group (Kitten Action Team) did a home visit and recognized right away that something wasn’t right. They repossessed me and took me back to the shelter and then back to PetSmart.
Once I got back to safety I became the famous overlooked kitty that nobody seemed to want. The Kitten Action Team and the staff at PetSmart knew how kind and loving I was and they just couldn’t understand why nobody wanted me. I didn’t understand it either. The nice lady who eventually became my Mom kept coming in looking at me and she couldn’t convince the Dad to adopt me. Do you believe that?
Anyways, I’ll try to make a long story short. Lots of time went by and I was then a nine month old, not a kitten any more, and nobody wanted a bigger tabby cat. The Mom finally convinced the Dad that Ivan, my dear Brother Angel Ivan, needed a brother since his pal Moses ran off to the Bridge. The Dad came and met me and I was adopted just before Christmas. The staff at PetSmart cheered “Brian’s going home” as the Dad took me to the car.
Christmas holds a special place in my heart, and I really was born on a Christmas Tree Farm here in South Carolina. I went home, met my new Brother Ivan, and we became instant pals. He taught me everything I know along with the importance of kindness to others. Sadly, the following year, three days before Thanksgiving, Brother Ivan let out a scream in the middle of the night and made a mad dash for the Rainbow Bridge. I still miss my best bud every single day.
Now I have a big family, one less since Angel Sascha departed this world, but I love each and every one of them, and of course, my Mom and Dad too. To this day I’m totally thrilled with my Gotcha. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it. I love you all too, the best friends in the universe. I’ll close with my T.G.I.F. for today…The Gotcha is Fabulous!!!
Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!! More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
